A Little More SNOW in Tennessee ----Yeah!!!!!

Our Home---Feb. 7, 2020
YEP----here's another little "Snow Post" from Betsy!!!!!  Geeessshhh!!!!   BUT--for this old 'snow lover',   this little snow was one of our prettiest in several years...  Yes--it was little,  and even you who live in snow-climate areas wouldn't mind this one!  We only got about 1.5 inches AND since we had had over SEVEN INCHES of RAIN before the snow came,  the ground was so warm causing the snow not to stick to the ROADS or Driveways or grassy areas at all much.   BUT--it stuck to the trees and shrubs and that made for a gorgeous little snow!!!   AND---even better news:  it was gone in 2 days!!!!

Today -I'll share some pictures I took around the yard that morning  (Feb. 7, 2020)  PLUS 4 pictures taken that afternoon as we ventured out to run some errands!!!!!  The drive down the Cumberland Plateau to Cookeville to go to Sam's was so pretty....

Hope you enjoy the pictures.  After looking at the possible weather for the rest of February,   it appears as if this may be our last snow this year  (unless we get some winter weather in March).... Our area used to get several deep snows in winter --but for the past several years,  we've gotten almost none.... Call it "Climate Change" or whatever... I just know it is very different these days.

Back Yard

The Rhododendron is being protected from the cold --by its "Snow Coat"

Don't think we'll be having a picnic on our deck!!!  (ha)

The Side Yard looking toward the front;  See the Daffodils 'trying' to pop up????

Shrubs in our front yard

Looking toward the 'lower' side yard

One of our shrubs ---up close and personal

Looking up at the snow clinging to the trees, near the Flag Pole

One more picture of our front yard

As we left home,  I took this picture of a beautiful evergreen tree in our area.

Passing by Mirror Lake in our community... IF you look close enough (right in the middle)  you will see the little fountain!!!

WOW---the trees were so gorgeous as we drove down the mountain.

Another picture from the car of the beauty all around us

Finally,  the errands are finished and we back home --only to enjoy the snow outside and a warm fire going in our fireplace!!!!!   What a Life!!!!
Well---hope you enjoyed our little snow and the ride we took you on!!!!!!  Now--the snow is gone and it's back to warmer weather ---with more RAIN coming this week... THAT--I can do without since we have had nothing but rain/flooding for it seems like weeks and weeks....Prayers for all of the people in flooded areas....East Tennessee has had its share of that!

Have an awesome week.

Hugs,

So very pretty. I especially like the one of the trees lining the road. I can imagine how excited you were to see that snow.

Glad you got your snow fix - you got a little more than we did here in the valley.

No snow here but lots of rain including today. We are headed west to Blackwater Falls State Park, WV tomorrow for three nights. We hope we have some snow there to experience.

This was a pretty little snow, and you got some great pictures. I have a feeling we will have some winter weather in March.

It IS very pretty and not having to shovel/snowblow it would make having snow bearable. We had quite a bit last week but it's almost melted now. Lots of flooding here too with entire towns flooded. We had so much snow and then it got warm way too fast.
Take care Betsy.
Blessings,
Betsy

Hi Betsy! My favorites here are your beautiful header, your side yard, and the trees going down the mountain. Climate change is really wreaking havoc with the environment.

That is definitely the only way to snow - only on the grass, trees, etc. After our 8 inches yesterday, everything is covered. Hubby snowblower yesterday and early this morning. Then the snowplows came thru and put all the snow back in our driveway. I feel so bad for all the people being affected by the flooding - not fun for anyone. Thanks for the pictures; sure is pretty.

Big snow lover here and having a disappointing year. Yours was quite pretty anyway. We had a really light dusting--I've seen heavier frosts. Still hope I guess. As mild as this winter has been so far, I am not looking forward to summer.

Beautiful scenes. I do hope the rains stop soon and the flooding eases.

Lovely snow scenes, Betsy! I'm glad your day ended up back home enjoying the warm fire and that the snow didn't stick around for a long time.

Sorry it was just a little, and it melted so quickly!

Love your new signature.
Hey we got about the same amount of snow - and rain. And it is still raining!

Lovely! I like snow that melts quickly so that we can get out and about.

I'm glad you got a little snow to enjoy Betsy. We have a LOT and more on the way.

Beautiful snow pictures! We have not had much snow here... and none predicted any time soon. But really, I'm ready for spring. Love the pic with your feet up looking out enjoying the view.

Beautiful snow pictures. Wish we could get some here in Va. Had a very little in November but that was it.

Betsy, I'm glad that you had your snow 'treat'. We had about the same amount of snow down here in the valley but it melted away by mid-afternoon the same day. (If anymore snow heads our way, we'll re-direct to the plateau!) Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

They are beautiful photos I love the way the snow sits on the branches of the trees. The last shot is a gem. Feet up, fire going and white beauty outside. Love it!

We haven't really had a good winter storm and it is already looking like we are in for an early spring. I do like the snow when it comes and then GOES! HA Your fire looks so cozy with the snow out the door!

This is beautiful, Betsy. 1.5 inches of snow is just right. We had about that much when we visited in Chicago. I’m glad it waited until we were gone before it unloaded more.
