Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

FLOWERS and MORE

MOONSTONE ROSE, especially for ANN and GINNY   (taken 6/15/18)
Hello Blog Friends,   Today I'm sharing some of my favorite pictures of our flowers  ---but  I have a couple of other thoughts first....

1.  BLOGGER PROBLEMS:  I do not think that Blogger has any intention of bringing back  the "Follow by Email" possibility --even though they said  (over a month ago) that they were tweaking their emails... I get NO emails from them at all,  not even when someone comments on my blog post. SO---I am gradually beginning to add my blog friends back into my Followers' List.... SO--I am asking all of you today (If you want me to visit your blogs) to make a comment on this post....  I'll add you onto my 'new' list.  For me,  it's like starting over...  Good Ole' Blogger ---seems it is always making changing which don't really help US!

2.  TWO PRAYER REQUESTS:
--Pray for friend,  Ann  (Ann's Snap, Edit, Scrap)  who lost her husband suddenly this week.
--Pray for  friend,  Ginny  (Let Your Light Shine) who had some very serious colon surgery recently.

Thanks...   NOW---let's all enjoy some of my favorite pictures from the flowers in our yard!!!!  The picture above is one I picked out especially for my friends,  Ann and Ginny.  AND--take time to check out all of the different and unique colors in the Day Lilies!!!

BAHAMA BUTTERSCOTCH Day Lilies  6/15/18)

PAPER BUTTERFLY Day Lilies 6/16/18

HYPNOTIZED ROSE 6/16/18

CAMERON QUANTZ  Day Lily 6/16/18

WILD HORSES  Day Lilies 6/16/18

DANCING SHIVA  Day Lily 6/16/18

SOUTH SEAS  Day Lily 6/16/18

A group of RONALD REAGAN Roses 6/15/18

ED BROWN  Day Lilies  (I call this one Edwina since it is too pretty to be an  "Ed"... ha)-- 6/15/18

PERSIAN MARKET  Day Lily 6/16/18

SWEET AFTON Rose  6/16/18

A Collage around our YARD  6/16/18  (You can see some of the big Day Lily Bed.)

MILESTONE Rose 6/16/18

PINK PERFECTION Lily 6/15/18  (my favorite Lily)

FOOLED ME  Day Lily 6/16/18

MELODY PARFUME  Roses  (6/7/18) (When the lighting is perfect!!!)
We got LOTS of rain in May this year ---so once the Roses and Day Lilies started blooming,  they have really put on a show.  The deer have enjoyed munching on a few of the Roses and MOST of the Lilies --but we now have 2 gadgets outside which make a loud noise  (only heard by the animals) when detecting movement --so fingers crossed,  right now --the gadgets are helping!!!

As George said yesterday though (since it is now unbearably hot here),  now we have to contend with  Japanese Beetles munching on the roses...  It's always something --but from these pictures,  you can see that we are doing okay!!!!  Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Please say another little prayer for both Ann and Ginny... They are both two very special people.

Hugs,

The flowers are all so beautiful. I couldn't pick a favourite, but then I don't have to.I can just enjoy them all. Praying for these two ladies. I also had a friend whose husband passed away on Saturday. Beauty on one side with the flowers and sorrow on the other.

Your day lilies and roses are of such beauty and wide variety of colors. My current post is of plants from an arboretum until midday when I post a poem for Anthony Bourdain. From joy to sorrow.

Betsy, the way I solved the problem of not being notified of comments to my blog was to select comment moderation. They send me an email then for me to decide whether comment will be published. An extra step but now I see the comments without having to go to my blog page to read them.

Lovely flowers as usual.

Your photos of the beautiful flowers are stunning. You and George put so much work into your yard every year, but it pays great rewards, doesn't it? It's a showplace.

Your Pink Perfection Lily is perfect indeed! I wouldn't mind Blogger changing if they would just let us know.

Hello Betsy. Your yard is looking beautiful. You have so many lovely blooms thanks to all the hard work to make a display of so many varieties of lily and rose. Please keep me on your followers' list. These technical issues are challenging, but we must keep in touch somehow. I'm very thankful that our son was able to fix my computer and I can communicate with everyone again via the internet. I've had difficulties with wifi connection too! Today it's our wedding anniversary. That's something to celebrate. I'll remember your friends in my prayers. Wishing you and George a good day.

Dear Betsy, I will pray for your friends starting today. We are all part of the Holy Oneness of All Creation and as the poem says, "Do not ask for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." So everytime anyone is in need or joyous or sad we are all caught up in that in some way.

I still think your garden should be on a garden tour!!!!!

Peace.

gorgeous flowers! We just had to remove our roses; after 2 years of fighting them and the toxic sprays (only ones that made a dent), we decided to stop poisoning ourselves to try and preserve them, and just removed them all. Makes me sad.

So glad to see you stopped by and thank you for your compliment! How are you doing this week, Betsy? Goodness gracious, it's so HOT HERE! LOL How are all your flowers doing--ours are okay but very wilted during the heat of the day.

Lisa @ Two Bears Farm said...

Unbearably hot here as well. I've been getting out at 5:30 to ride the horses or run because by 9 am it's just too steamy already.
Your flowers are lovely, as usual!
I hope Ginny is doing well. I've been thinking of her a lot.

Hi Betsy, you have wonderful lovely flowers here. However, the colors of your side bar overpowers everything. And they are a bit distructing to the eyes. I hope you don't mind, it is just what i experienced here for this visit. I also saw that you transfered your name link to Google+, unlike before. This is a bit difficult maybe to others, so you thought there is communication gaps with us bloggers. Best regards.

i THINK I NEED A DAY TRIP TO YOUR HOUSE TO WALK AMONG THOSE BEAUTIES YOU SHOW US DAILY. I HAVE FOUND ANYTIME A CHANGE IS MADE ON ANY SITE, I REALLY HAVE A TIME ACCLIMATING MYSELF TO A NEW FORMAT. WHEW, I AM TOO OLD FOR TO CHANGE EASILY. WILSON HAD TAKEN SOME DAYS OFF AND WE GOT A MESSAGE FROM THE CITY OF PULASKI THAT WE HAD 5 DAYS TO CLEAR THE WEEDS AROUND THE STORE PARKING LOT. SO I USE LOPPER ON THE BIG STUFF AND HE WEEDEATED AROUND THE LOT AND BUILDING. WE WERE TOO HOT OLD PEOPLE WITH OUR CLOTHES WRINGING WET. THE GUY WHO CUTS THE LOT HAD A GOOD EXCUSE FOR HIM BUT NOT FOR ME. I AM NOT AS FORGIVING AS WILSON BECAUSE WHEN YOU PAY FOR A JOB DONE IT SHOULD BE DONE CORRECTLY. PEACE

Hi Betsy, I read your comment on my blog about what people thought regarding comments and replies. There are a few that I reply to through email rather than the blog because I know that is what they like, unfortunately your comments come through my email as no-reply blogger so I can't email you back unless I had your email address. I see you have it listed on your facebook page though so I should be able to add that when your comments come through
