Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

Baby Blue Birds PLUS More!

Three Adorable baby Blue Birds sitting on top of the Arbor at my Bird Kitchen waiting to be fed!!!
I have had so much fun lately watching the 3 new baby EASTERN BLUE BIRDS come to the feeders with Mom and Dad --while begging for food and learning how to eat by themselves....Today I'll share some of zillions of pictures I took off and on lately trying to get the 'perfect' shots...  Bird are adorable to watch but don't always cooperate when one is trying to capture the perfect pictures....

Our Blue Birds are with us year-round ---and during the Spring - late Summer,  they nest in a nestbox we provide...  They usually have about 3 different groups of little ones each year...  They are such neat little birds and so adorable... It is such a joy for me to get to enjoy them here.  Hope you enjoy the pictures I chose to share today....  (All of today's pictures were taken between 5/26/17 and 6/2/17.)

"Here come Daddy!!!!  Feed me PLEASE."

Mom and Dad Blue are very protective of their little ones.

One of the Baby Blues finally learned to fly down to the plate feeder --waiting on Dad (who is at the mealworm feeder) to come and feed  him/her.

"My mouth is WIDE open, Daddy... Please feed me!"

"Oh My...   That mealworm looks so delicious!"    (NOTE:  When the babies beg for food with their mouths opened wide,  they also squeal   and their little wings just flap like crazy.. Wish you could see them!)

"Oh YUM... Here comes that big bite..  Oh So GOOD!"

*******************************
Here are a few more of my wonderful Backyard Birds I managed to capture recently while watching the Bluebirds....  I am so fortunate to have so many varieties of birds come to the Bird Kitchen!!!

MR. NORTHERN CARDINAL  at the plate feeder   (They usually bring their babies to the feeders also--if I can ever catch them in action.)

To add some more colors to the Bird Kitchen,  we love our big group of GOLDFINCHES.

Uh Oh.... The Bluebirds might get mad if they see MR.  CAROLINA WREN  eating 'their' mealworms.   (These little wrens,  to be so tiny,  have a powerful voice --and love to sing!)

I am a very good Bird-Loving-Mama to our BLUE JAYS --since I put out peanuts in the shell for them every morning....  This one just landed on the plate feeder to get one!!!!

I almost missed getting the picture --but Mr. BLUEJAY got his peanut!!!!!!

We have LOTS of WOODPECKERS in our area... This is one of my favorites,  The YELLOW-SHAFTED NORTHERN FLICKER.... My Woodies  LOVE the SUET....

My favorite picture of the adorable little Baby Bluebirds;   (Can you imagine how these little birds feel when learning about being in this big ole' world for the first time????)
Hope you enjoyed my Birdie Pictures today...  I certainly do enjoy watching these little cuties as they flit around coming back and forth to the feeders...  These days,  with all of the meanness in our world and country,  it is nice to have a distraction such as this...

Hope you have a fantastic JUNE....  George and I certainly intend to do just that!!!!

Hugs,

Lovely capture at the baby blue birds and as a family should be great entertainment watching their activities and feeding chicks! Good to see other birds to share the kitchen… love the yellow color of the goldfinches. I too have refilled my birdfeeder and this time I have a birdbath to attract birds, so far only crows and monkeys have drunk from.

Hello, wonderful captures of all your birds. I love the bluebirds!

Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!

I have been refraining from putting birdfeeders up, as we have two outdoor cats who although getting a little older, still move fast enough. Now I know what I'm missing! Maybe I can get my husband to put up our hummingbird feeder - they are faster, and almost never approach the ground.

You got some wonderful pictures of the baby bluebirds and all the other customers to your Bird Kitchen.

We enjoy all "our" birds at the feeders too. You took some great pictures. The only Mama and Papa's that bring their babies back to the suet feeders are the Hairy Woodpeckers. they are fun to watch specially since the babies look bigger than the parents---quite amusing to watch.
Keep up the good work---LOL

You have heard the old saying "going to the dogs", well you have gone to the birds. Absouletly adorable post and love all of them. Regret we do not get birds like that in For Worth. Such a joy and pleasure seeing all of yours.

Just LOVE those baby bluebirds! I hope to attract a family to our yard next year...there's an old house in the front yard that just needs a little TLC. Maybe... Anyway, loved your other bird visitors as well. Birds are such precious gems in our world, aren't they?

Thanks for sharing your birds with us. They are such a joy to watch. I have feeders out also and could sit for hours watching them and their antics.

What lovely photos of the birds in your yard. You definitely have a gift with flowers AND birds. We've been enjoying watching hhe eagles at the lake this year. They seem to be extra active this year. Thank you for sharing with us.
Blessings,
Betsy

Wonderful pictures, Betsy! A huge joy to any and all birders!! Favorites! The babies with their mouths open, you even captured a wing flutter! And as usual at this stage, they are almost bigger than their daddy! I would have never known they are bluebirds, they look like female house finches! Not having their color quite yet. Wow, the flicker is a surprise, as they are ground feeders. I guess your suet is worth a flight and a balance! And LOOK, under his tail, you have captured the yellow beautifully! I am partial to wrens, and I love this tiny one!! What a lovely way to start the week!

I love watching the birds! I saw an American Gold Finch yesterday on the creek but no camera in hand, of course! haha...And you are correct, watching is one thing, trying to photographing them is another thing! I am not a sports fan but I think it is cool that Nashville has come out to support the Preds like they have! I think it would be neat if they did win. Only sports I have ever enjoyed was cheerleading when my daughter was in that (and watching the football team she cheered for), football when my son played and ARCA, Bush and Craftsman Truck racing when my nephew was in the circuit! Other than that...nothing!

Love those feeding pictures. I have always been so envious of your blue birds. This is the first year I have a nesting pair. Always the English Sparrows have out duked them for the bird house. For 12 years the blues have lost out, this year they won. Can't wait to see the babies.

Great captures of all the birds. How fun to be able to watch the blue birds.

these are the sweetest pictures yet. adorable little blue birds. I used to see them here along with the little finches, but the ferol cats were so bad last year , we saw not a one near the flowers. We are trying to trap more ferol cats as it is awful problem here. Maybe see more birds then.
I love seeing how the birds take care of their young.

You see them year-round, and they raise three broods!!! Amazing compared to here, where we think it's quite special to see them at all.

We don't see the bluebirds too much right around home, but there are a lot of them at the state park we visit regularly. They're so beautiful, and I can imagine the enjoyment you get in being able to watch them raise their families each year. So much fun seeing all the birds at your various feeders. I'd probably spend a lot of time at the windows, watching them.

You still have your lovely birds and beautiful flowers. Glad to see you two are doing great. Andy is 16 - working - driving - and will be a junior next year. I find it hard to believe. Doing okay - same ole same old. I really love my computer - hubs worked on it and it seems to be doing okay! Love, sandie

You are so blessed with so many variety of bird visitors. What a great time of watching and shooting their photos. I am so tempted to get a bird feeder too! Have a great day!

I've seen you around, Betsy and had to come and take a look at your blog. Love this post with the birds! We do not have bluebirds that we've ever seen here, but we did have a nest of Bluejays and another of Cardinals the same summer. Now, for the third year, we've got a wood duck in front of our living room window in a maple tree. It's amazing to watch the ducklings leap to the ground and follow mom.
I also like all the vibrant colors on your blog and now I'll be looking around! Your photos are excellent! Take care

Oh, Betsy, I did enjoy them. And the Carolina wren is my favorite bird...such a big song from such a little bird. And they have such personality!

Oh how thrilling, blues, reds and yellows. We dont have reds and blues in the property. You are into birds and I am into butterflies!

Betsy, We love our bluebirds too and its always amusing to watch the almost full grown babies beg for food. The funniest ones are the 'baby' crows...who are as big as their parents. I think the the Flickers are our favorites...although those busy little Wrens are great fun to watch. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Great photos of all the birds especially of the baby bluebird opening its beak and probably cheeping for more. The parents work really hard to feed them and good for you in providing tasty treats for each variety of bird. It must uplifting to watch the birds in your yard.

That is just so awesome! I'd never seen bluebirds until we traveled to Yellowstone a few years ago. I couldn't believe how blue they were. I guess they're not blue when they're little fledglings.

Not only are your photos adorable but I admire how you put together the whole bird feeding station. We stopped because too many rodents came to the area especially skunks and racoons.
