Celebrating America's Birthday

Happy 4th of July to YOU.... As you enjoy fun times with lots of great food and fellowship,  please take a minute to thank God for our country and the freedoms we celebrate.  We also need to pray for our country and its future...

Today,  in honor of America's Birthday and our flag,  I am celebrating with you by showing you some of the RED, WHITE and BLUE flowers we have, and have had this year in our yard.

The photo above is Peppermint Splash Rose from our yard (5/27).   It reminds me of fireworks---so I'll begin with it...  Click on the photos for enlargements.

Bama Bound DayLily  (6/21/15)

Mt Hood Daffodil (3/28/15)

Electric Shock Irises (5/09/15)

  Another Combo:  Lollypop Lilies (5/20/15)

Crimson Pixie Lilies (5/20/15)

Lady Elizabeth DayLily (6/24/15)

Blue Periwinkle (Vinca Minor) Groundcover in our Yard  (3/25/15)

Another Combo:  Ronald Reagan Rose  (6/12/15)

Red Dynasty Tulip  (4/03/15)

Sweet Freedom Rose  (5/25/15)

Sweet little BLUE Pansy (4/21/15)

Finally,  here is one of my all-time favorite Roses... I like Double Delight so much that I used it for my header on my other blog post  (Betsy's Photo Blog)....  But since it is SO pretty,  I'll also include it today on this post...

Hope you enjoyed this little variety showing some of our many flowers ---and I hope that you have a happy and SAFE holiday!

Hugs,

Going a hymn fest and potluck, an old fashioned celebration. I like to watch the children running with sparklers. Lots of fun games also.

The Ronald Reagan Rose is my favorite and I wish we could have another man like Ronald Reagan in the White House. I pray for our great country daily. We certainly do need to bring her back to God. Wishing you and yours a wonderful 4th of July weekend!!

Betsy & George... Have a great Independence Day! We do have one question related to your yard. Have you ever counted the number of varieties of flowers you have? Wow! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave & Laurie

Such beautiful flowers. We didn't do much yesterday because we had to work late Friday night at the art gallery for First Friday Art Walk, so we just laid low, cooked barbecue and watched movies. A great day in my book!! XX

They are all gorgeous, but I can see why that last one is a special favorite. It's beautiful. I esp. like the multi-colored flowers.
I don't know how to request to be a friend to you on Facebook. I mean, I know how,but I don't know your last name or at least your Facebook's name. Could you tell me, please or send a friend request to me, Beth Orr? Thanks.
Had the gkids for two nights and had a blast! I'm still resting up though, but that's okay. :>)

Hi Betsy,
Such beautiful flowers! I have 2 favorites...the first and last. You and George really do a marvelous job on your flower gardens. Mine aren't quite lucky as yours. My right knee has been giving me trouble, so I've not been able to pull as many weeds and tend to them as I usually do.
I'm like you and have basically quit reading the news. It's just too depressing. It's hard to believe how fast this country is changing...and not for the better. And no one is doing anything about it! I better climb down from my soapbox before I get too carried away.
Take care and have a good week. I'm really slow these days with blogging, but think of my friends often.
Hugs, Cheryl

Hi Betsy,
I just tried to send a comment, but my computer is acting up and I'm not sure you got it. I was saying how beautiful your flowers are and that the first and last ones were my favorites! I also got on my soapbox about what's happening in our country. It is so depressing. Hope you and George have a great week! If the other comment came through, just throw this one out. :)
Hugs, Cheryl

Your yard is gorgeous in all seasons, but especially now! Love those pictures! I've been absent from blog writing and reading lately, too, largely because of book projects, changing agents, a speaking engagement in New York, etc., etc. So I'm seriously behind on my blog reading, but will catch up with you on Facebook. Don't want to miss anything -- love hearing about your adventures and seeing your beautiful pictures!
