Mt. Nebo, Arkansas 2013

Today I will share a little more from our trip last week to Mr. Nebo, Arkansas.  If you missed Monday's post,  click HERE.

The picture above is a picture I took from the valley below our mountain ---looking up onto Mt. Nebo....Mt. Nebo is a flat-top mountain --where, depending upon where you are (and the weather of course),  one can see both the Sunrise and the Sunset each day.

Here is another photo of our cabin (taken late afternoon on 2/14).  You can see some of the gorgeous view of the valley below in this picture...

Here's is a collage  I put together of almost the same view from our cabin --on three different days, at different times of the day.  The picture on the top left was taken on Feb. 12 at 7:08 a.m. The one on the right was taken on Feb. 14 at 7:06 a.m., and the one at the bottom was taken on Feb. 11 at 5:20 p.m.

George and I both took lots of pictures of the valley below and the upcoming sunset almost every single day.  This picture was taken on 2/12 late in the afternoon.

Here is a picture taken early in the morning on Feb. 12 --showing fog in the distance.

Then,  during the afternoon of  Feb. 12---look what rolled in where we were.  This foggy photo was taken outside of our cabin that day... Needless to say,  we didn't get to see the sunset THAT day.  BUT--that was the only day we missed it!!!

On Valentine's morning,  inside the cabin,  while we were eating our breakfast,  we exchanged cards.

And then came a HUGE surprise for me!!!!!  (George isn't usually able to surprise me since I am so NOSY... ha)....  He gave me a gorgeous wrapped canvas of a beautiful photo which he had taken when we were visiting Ocean Isle Beach this past December.  I was SO surprised and PLEASED.  What a perfect gift!!!!  Thanks, Honey!!!

One of my favorite places to sit when we are at the cabin is NEXT to the wood-burning fireplace.  There's just nothing better than sipping my coffee,  checking my emails and Facebook messages,  and keeping warm by the fire....

I'll close with another photo of George and me --while sitting on our picnic table --waiting to see the sunset... Hope you have enjoyed this set of pictures...  We had a marvelous time at Mt. Nebo this year!!!

BLOGGER REQUEST:  I am one who uses email for everything I can... I get comments via email and even Facebook posts/comments.  I check email more than anything else... Do you????  Anyhow---I am requesting that you add a gadget (if you are on Blogger) to your sidebar (hopefully near the top where we can find it) which allows for Email Sign-up.  That way anytime you publish a new post,  I'll get it through email --like I do those who are on Wordpress.  LOVE IT....  Yesterday,  I signed up for about 20 of your blogs who have this on their sidebar now.  Over half of you do not though --or at least I couldn't find it....  ALSO---I have that gadget on the top of my sidebar --if you want to get my posts by email.

Interesting what people have on their sidebars.... It says alot about us as unique and special people!!!!!  Three things which are definitely needed (in my opinion) on all sidebars:  1. Email sign-up;  2.  Search this blog;  and 3.  Translate.    Thanks for your help!!!!!!

Have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday.

Hugs,

Am I really the first one to comment? Doesn't seem possible. :)
Oh, I love a foggy day and sitting beside a fireplace just adds to that sense of quiet and introspective.
Looks like you had a little of everything on this particular trip.
Did George use Zazzle for his canvas (noticed the cardboard box)? I'm just wondering because I've used Shutterfly and have really liked what I've received. The canvas looks gorgeous!

Betsy...sorry, but I don't have that kind of time to do emails AND post on my blog, so I don't add any email to my profile. Only 'cause of the time limits I have put myself on for blogging.

As for your continued cabin post today, it's awesome. What a great surprise gift for the day of love. And the fog...oh, how wonderful. My favorite weather phenomenon ever. And the views from the cabin...breathtaking.

Amazing views, Betsy. It is easy to see why you enjoy the area so much.

Oh, my! I have no idea what is on my sidebar.:-) I never really check it, and I know I designed (if you may call it that) the blog rather haphazardly. It really needs attention.

Hugs,
Nellie

Your photos just exude the sense of relaxation that must come over you at "your" cabin on Mt. Nebo. It seems to offer everything you need for a perfect stay. Even the fog. :)

What works for some just does not work for others. I do not want anything in my emails other than the regular ones. So many people are having problems, with being hacked and losing everything. Lots of computer issues are happening. Also,I do not like it where they have "reply" after your comment. I do good reading the post and no time to go back for a reply. I love and appreciate all suggestions. Some I understand, some I do not. George has you spoiled.

Making memories on the mountain. Great photos and post. Again I feel I must thank you for letting me tag along with you on your trip. I never have taken the time to look at other's sidebar. Yours is most interesting and if you do not mind I need a copy of the 7 rules because I need to send it to my little brother. He so often lets the past get in his way. Peace

Another great trip. So tell me - I have never heard of this place - how do you find all the places you go to - and the cabins you pick. You seem to always have great places to go to and they are beautiful. I always love to see your and George's faces. sandie

Such gorgeous views from that cabin...and the cabin looks so cozy and wonderful! You two look VERY happy!

Beautiful shots, Betsy....I did add the follow by email...to both but it is buried down at the bottom of Time Stand Still...

I had the search thing on my blog at one time, but it did not work very good. The one at the top of the blog worked just as good or better.

There are times it works soooo good, and others, it doesn't work worth a hoot. I would love to know why.

You know, I forgot all about Mt Nebo when we were in Arkansas last year. We should have looked it up! Looks like a great place to visit.
I've been wanting to do some different things to my sidebar, just don't seem to have the time lately. I'll try to get the email thing added soon.
How's your weather been? We had a foot of snow dumped on us yesterday and through the night. That's a little more than enough for me. I'm so ready for spring! Have a great weekend!

You by the fireplace blogging is just how I picture you working on your site.

You know, I hadn't even considered putting the 'sign up for email' gadget on my blog. Makes sense. I added it just for you!

I so lve this area.I was corresponding with one blog around there but never heard much back so dropped it. Almost wish I hasdn't. The eagles keep me up here, and next the prairie, or is it vice versa. Ha! I have a different argument each time. I am serving a prayer here in May I wrote in 1966, and hope the 2nd time it wil be a hit in confirmation classes at my local umc as it did when I 1st presented it to mine.

A great retreat place to return to for that special trip, Betsy. The views are spectacular and the cabin looks very cosy, especially during those foggy hours! It must have been wonderful to sit by your wood fireplace and relax there, too.

Your many cabin visits having longing for a trip that includes one. And what a lovely surprise. I just have you in a blogroll that I have on my short cuts on menu bar. Email of every blog seems a lot! I have't got any idea how to add more buttons.

Hi Betsy, firstly, what a beautiful post! I love all the photos here and the way you have displayed them is unique and very creative. I do have an e-mail capacity on my right side bar of my blog, have had it there for a while. If you opt to receive an e-mail, you should receive one every new post I make. Just be sure to check your spam folder, though, as sometimes they end up there...then you can let your e-mail source know that it is not spam.
Your post has brightened my day. I have a cold and am feeling a little under the weather, so thanks for such a beautiful post.

Dear Betsy, you seem to have an acute eye for beauty as well as for being able to frame a scene with your camera so that we have not only a picture but a painting. Thank you. Peace.

These posts you do from Mt. Nebo are so sweet and special. Your love for each other and that retreat is in the minority in our world. I am glad you testify of it to the world. As much as I like all the pictures you all took, my favorite of you both is on Monday's post where you are both sitting in front of the cabin. It's one of the best of both of you in the years I have been following you.

This a sweet little cabin....and a sweet spot for two sweethearts!!! I'm glad you had yet another visit. :)
I read blogs through the google reader. it makes it really easy for me because it sorts everything by date and I can just go to the oldest posts of all my favorite blogs.
