2010 Lilies

Instead of featuring more of our Roses this Friday, I want to feature some of the LILIES blooming in our yard now. Right now, there are 11 different varieties blooming --with more to come!!!! Like the Tulips, it is a good year for Lilies... Hope you enjoy seeing some of ours. Above is FREEDOM'S GLOW (the orange ones).. Below are more!

MADONNA

One of my favorites, named GARDEN PLEASURE

JUANITA

I love this group also, which is named REGALE

TREFFER

Thanks to my Sweetie for taking all of these beautiful pictures. He also has been totally in charge of the yard for the past month --since my knee pain and surgery. He has truly had his hands full --taking care of ME along with all of the flowers!!!! Let's all give George some HUGE Kudos today!!!!! Hope you enjoyed seeing some of our Lilies.

Have a great weekend. I am doing okay--but am still recovering. I'll blog again on Monday morning.
Hugs,

I am always amazed at how you remember the "names" of your lilies and roses. Mine go under the grand name of "Ditch".
Sending a big hug to George (with your permission) for being such a sweetie.

Love your lilies!!

We have day lilies but they are the only ones that are hardy where we live.

I hope you have some relief soom Betsy, it's miserable being in that much pain for so long and we all know it could be worse but it doesn't help when the pain is bad!!!! I know this from my hips. There was nothing life threatening but it hurt like h**l!!!! People telling me it could be worse didn't help!!

I never tire of seeing your beautiful flowers. I just cannot imagine the true beauty of your yard. You two must have the greenest thumb around.

You and I have both been thinking alike with the lilies!! Actually my favorite picturs is REGALE, because of the water drops George caight all hanging from the bud so beautifully! What's going on with your recovery, I sense something. Have you had to use a cane or anything to help youi get around? I needed a walker for about four days.

Karin said...

The variety of lilies is almost unbelievable! The Easter lilies have a very strong fragrance; just wondering if all of these do as well. They are beautiful and George took great shots of them showing off their finery!

So glad you have George to look after everything and that you are on the mend! I'm sure he is glad to do it, even though it is all a lot of work! Be blessed George!

Hope you are completely well soon! Have a great week-end!

Everyone of the blooms are gorgeous. What a great job George has done with all the flowers, you must be treated to bright colors everywhere you look. I hope you are coming along with the knee situation. Thinking of you and sending you a big hug!

I love the Madonna one. Very pretty - Now are these the individual lilies that grow on stems that have leaves shooting out all the way up the stem like barbs? They are different from day lilies right?

I have day lilies and the spread in a very annoying way!

Kudos to George and bless you both for sharing those beautiful lilies. I tried to pick a favourite but each one was more stunningly beautiful than the last! I trust your knee is healing and you're having a rest! Thanks for the comment on my post. Yes, those soccer match horns are HORRIFIC. I wish the organizers would ban them during matches (blow before, in interval and after) but while play is on the go, be quiet. We South Africans are reasonably used to the vuvuzelas but this is horrific. I struggle to hear the commentating. One reason is my hearing (!) a second is that we have an airconditioner, two ceiling fans and a desk fan going full tilt AND the horns! There may be protests in the papers or over telly tomorrow. Have a blessed day. (((Hugs))) Jo

Thanks :-)
