Guess What This is??????

Look closely at the picture above. You may need to click on it to enlarge it!!!! Sorry about the shadows--but it's the best one that I had. What do you think that is???? Where is it???

WELL---it's exactly what you 'may' have thought it was, a fancy "Port-a-Potty." Is that not hilarious???? I began thinking about this picture after reading MB's blog SMALL CITY SCENES recently. The title of MB's post was "Path to Necessity." She showed a picture of a trail which led to, as she called it, "the little house with the half moon." I was so amused at her post--and when I left a comment, I had to remind her that, back here in the hills of Tennessee, those necessity houses are called OUTHOUSES. (She did answer me later, saying that they are called outhouses in Washington state also.)
Anyhow, I decided to show my latest "Necessity House." The ROYAL RESTROOM in the picture above can be found at the beach in Tybee Island, GA (not far from Savannah). My three childhood girlfriends and I went on our annual "Getaway" this past October. We had rented a beautiful condo on the beach for a week. When we first walked into the condo and walked out on the big porch facing the ocean, what was the first thing we saw????? That Royal Restroom---right there between our condo and the ocean... The four of us laughed so hard and so long about that---and since nobody would have believed us, we all had to take pictures!!!!
Is that not just the funniest thing you have ever seen? It is a working potty--with doors for both men and women on the other side of the wall shown in the picture. Now--look at the picture one more time... Be sure and write that telephone number down. Royal Restrooms will provide their "Regal, Portable Restroom Experience" ---for your special events, festivals and weddings. I knew you'd want to know this!!!!! HAR HAR HAR
Have a wonderful day ---and be sure to plan a trip to Tybee, so that you can have a Royal Restroom experience yourself!!!!!
Hugs to All,

Well, that's certainly the fanciest (and the largest!) Port-a-Potty I've ever seen - or hope to see!

Well, I'll be a Monkey's Uncle !
What a fancy "loo" that is. Makes
you want to go.....even if it's just to have a little look-see :)

Thanks for making me laugh this morning! I will have to remember the number and call them at my next famiy Christmas weekend. LOL

that is so funny. compared to the portable bathrooms I have seen that really is ROYAL.
Oh, how some of the ball fields need those for me this summer.

Well, I've never seen anthing like that before!

That makes you want to walk the privies in formal attire!

That's a very fancy way to cater to the "when you gotta go, you gotta go" crowd. Actually, a pretty good idea. :)

Never seen that before! We visited Tybee a few years back in the winter time no less. We were actually staying in Savannah and drove out there to check it out.

lol It's a fancy one all right! I call it The Necessary Room.

Dorothy said...

Fancy outhouse! If I had 'to go' I would prefer this over the usual tiny ones you see!

Mary said...

LOL! Fanciest Port-a-Pot I've ever seen :-) Too bad it had to be in your view. Next time you'll know to request a non-potty view :-)

perfect for my next summer barbecue party! LOL!!!! ha,ha!

We saw one of those at a festival in West Palm Beach - they were awesome portapotties!!

Small City Scenes said...

Too funny, Betsy!!! Mine was a 'room with a view'--I guess The Royal has a view too. You better request a room with a better view--not a loo.

Yes, I am the Wal-mart greeter, LOL!!! MB

HA!!! LOL!!! Very funny

Connie said...

Well as long as there was a "throne" in the Royal restroom, I guess it would work just fine! ;)

HA HA!

Funny post, Betsy. Thanks for the smile this morning. :D

LOL so funny. But they are better looking than porta potty's. Thanks for stopping by today. Big hug. Grammy

That's quite a concept, makes me wonder just what they do with it that makes it so special.

I bet that upgraded potty has an upgraded retal price too!

Anonymous said...

oops - rental not retal

It's a hoot, but I'd still rather have this royal experience than the "deluxe" Alaskan outhouses.

By the way, when are you going to join us in skywatching?

amelia said...

Thanks for your comment on my blog, I really appreciate your good wishes!

We have an outhouse and as soon as I'm feeling better I will take a pic and post it. A few times my hubby has talked about tearing it down but when our power is out for a long time and the well pump won't work, it can be a blessing! Fot twenty years when our house was just a cottage, that's all we had!

Janie said...

Funny post, good for a smile! I think I'll jot down that number just in case...ha!

Diane said...

Dear Betsy, If I'm ever there I'm going to make a point to go there. You could write a book about outhouses couldn't you? I think we all have our own stories. Thanks for bringing up something to make me smile.

Thank you for the comment on my award post. The stories I could tell about my Mom!

Very unique. We use to have an "outhouse" when I was a kid. Boy, could I tell you a story. Funnnny!!!

Jayne--Is that not hilarious????

Joy--Well---it's definitely ROYAL... Don't know if it's fit for a queen or not!!! ha

Josephine--Well--when you gotta go, you gotto go!!!!

Peggy--Yes, I figured you might want to call them when you have your next 'shindig'.... ha ha

Suzanne--Yes, for sure that is more than the typical Port-a-potty!!! I've been in some really STINKY ones when hiking!!!! OH MY---the bathrooms at our local park in my hometown smelled so bad that it would make you sick. I wouldn't go in it!!!! Barf!

Mildred-- I thought you might have seen one somewhere in HOtLANTA at one time!!!!

Phyllis--Absolutely!!!! Wonder if there's a 'royal' potty seat????? ha ha

Pat-- I wonder if there's a business called "Royal Restrooms" ---who want to put these fancy potties all over the country?????

Susie--Don't know how you could have missed this one --unless it wasn't there then. It is right on the beach road --down from the pier.

Sally-- Yes, it is definitely NECESSARY... Ha Ha

Dorothy--That's exactly what it is, a fancy-dancy outhouse... I agree that it did look clean (although we didn't go inside), so it was probably MUCH nicer than those nasty little ones.

Mary--Who would have 'thunk' it???? All of the ads about this nice little condo did NOT mention the restroom.. Thank goodness--we were on the 2nd floor--so the restroom wasn't really in our way. It was just FUNNY--having something like that right there.

Shelley--Absolutely!!!! I'm sure your guests would enjoy it. You could even eat in it since it is 'royal.' ha ha

Woody--So, you've seen one of these???? I wonder if it is a business---and that there are more around ????? They certainly are nicer than those nasty little things, for sure!

MB--Cute..... I agree---we never thought of asking if there was a fancy Port-a-Potty in front of the condo we rented!!!!! Who would have 'thunk' it???? ha ha... Luckily though we were on the 2nd floor---so our view wasn't obstructed too much. It was just FUNNY. I didn't know that was you I saw in Walmart.... ha ha... Good Luck with your spinning!!!

Kallen-- Isn't this just hilarious???? We laughed and laughed about the Royal Restroom...

Daisy-- I wish we would have gone inside JUST to see what the inside looked like. Maybe they had padded potty seats in there!!!! ha ha ha

Grammy--Wasn't this just hilarious???? Who would have 'thunk' there would be such a thing as a Royal Restroom????

Dorothy--thanks for the award... That one means so much and I appreciate it. How's the grandbaby????

Vanessa--- I didn't go into the restroom because I didn't have my fancy dress and high heels!!!!! ha ha ... Seriously, we didn't go in Wish I had now!

Deb---I should have gone inside to see how fancy the inside was. Wonder if they had padded potty seats????? ha ha

Pigeon-- I thought about that. Wonder what the tiny town of Tybee Island has to pay for this fancy restroom??????

Barb---Well---since I didn't have on my Sunday clothes, I didn't go inside!! ha ha.. I should have though, just to see what the inside looked like. Wonder if there were padded potty seats in there???? ha.... Yes, George thinks I can be pretty darn SILLY at times!!!! ha

Ruth--True... When you gotta go, you gotta go!!! ha ha ha... When we are out hiking, you'd be surprised (maybe not) at some of the port-a-potties I have used... YUK!!!! ha

Jen---CUTE!!!! Definitely a Royal Flush.... Wonder what Tybee Island is paying for that Royal Flush???????

Kathleen--Isn't this just a hoot????? Have you EVER heard of such a thing????

Darla--- Unfortunately, I didn't go inside. I wasn't dressed for the royal occasion!!! ha

Rosa---Yes, we all thought it was really funny. That's why we took a picture!!!! We thought that nobody would believe us!!!

Hi Mandy---Welcome to my blog. I checked yours and enjoyed looking at it. Hope you come back often!!!! Yes, the Royal Restroom was hilarious..

Tina-- I loved the politically correct statements you sent me tonight. TOO funny...

Tricia-- You are quite welcome.. I am praying for the people in your area.

Wren--Ha---I can just imagine those Alaskan 'royal' restrooms... I will probably join Skywatch one of these days.

Amelia-- Well, sounds like your old outhouse might come in handy at times... It would be better than 'going' in the yard....Right????ha..... Hope your cold and hip are better SOON. Prayers!!!

Janie---Welcome to my blog. I checked out yours and enjoyed looking at it. Yes--be sure and write down that number... You never know when you might need a Royal Restroom!!! ha... Come back anytime.

Diane-- Well, this was a funny 'outhouse' for sure... I have never thought of restrooms as being ROYAL---even if they are big and clean!!! ha

Darla-- I loved your story about your mother... You should write a book about her and her struggles. You obviously have lots of Mama stories to tell!!!!

Dot--Yes, when we saw that stupid restroom for the first time, we all just broke out laughing. Who would have 'thunk' it????? ha ah

Lola--Well --maybe it is unique, but to us it was hilarious!!!! I'll bet you do have a good outhouse story!!!! Share it sometime.

Thanks Karin... That Royal Restroom has brought alot of smiles to our faces for sure!!

That is hilarious! I've often thought about putting together a coffee table book of nothing but restrooms from all across the country, since I seem to hit them ALL! Ha! This one would probably make the cover page!

Betsy Banks Adams said...

Aleta--that restroom could beat all I ever saw!!!! It definitely should make the COVER.

Betsy
