Hello Betsy, Very pretty photos this morning. It would be hard to choose a favorite! Hope you have a nice weekend.

I missed your first post on the irises, so I went back and checked them out. My favorite from there was the honey glazed. Of these, I like the Cantina the best with the Tennesse Vol a close second.
I'm so behind on your blog this week.

Your Biltmore one is a delight as always.

I was glad you had that time with your son. Such a beautiful spot to enjoy catching up with a loved one! I liked their version of 'falls'.

As for the seafood one, my ex and I would do the same when we visited the beach: fresh seafood as much as possible. I'm not a scallops fan and can't get past the slippery look of the oysters, but I love many of the other fresh catches. I loved your close up of the sea gull---stunning actually.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

They are all so beautiful, I went back and looked at part one. Isn't great to have lovely flowers come back year after year. I just shared some of mine with my Mom I had to dig them up a little early because of the time of my visit. They are good sports, I think they will come back for her next year.

So many many different blooms, just magic!

Cantina is my favorite. I wonder why "Tennessee" vol is your favorite? Is there such a thing as a California Irises? :-)

Janice K said...

Each one is so unique, and such pretty colors. They make me homesick for the farm where I grew up. We had a lot of them there, but they do not seem to grow well here. I still have one miniature purple one that comes up each year in a really odd place.

Take care,

Irises are such beautiful flowers. I love the variety that you have and the wonderful photos you have shared.

After seeing these lovely flowers, I've thought that perhaps I need to add some iris plants to my yard. I've never had them because all I could think of were those boring purple ones of my childhood. (Anyway, that is how I saw them.)

I loved: Cable Car and Halloween Halo. I couldn't decide on my favorite until I saw Tennessee Vol. I concur with you. It is my favorite also.

I'd like to see how these look in the complete garden setting. Do you order these from catalogs?

They are all beautiful but Halo gives Vol a run for the money!!! My two favs.
Have a great weekend....don't work too hard!

I really love the Cantina. I'm imagining the ruffled dress of a Senorita. :)
I think Halloween Halo is very appropriately named as well.

Your irises are awesome. I checked out part I and fell in love with Hell's Fire. What an amazing color. Then, on the other end of the color spectrum, Halloween Halo caught my eye and kept it.

Your iris's are gorgeous. I am making a new flower bed at my new outside patio and thinking about getting some iris bulbs for it. When did you plant your bulbs and how long does it take the bulbs to bloom?
Blessings to you

Isn't that nest box the cutest thing you've ever seen. The wood ducks seemed to like it.

Those photos were taken at the aviary, there are at least a dozen nest boxes and shelters inside.

Hope you and George had a great weekend.
