2010 Best Of...: ROSES -Part II

If you didn't see the first 6 roses I posted,  please click on OLDER POST at the bottom of this blog so see them.   Today,  I will post six more of my favorite photos of our 2010 roses.    Above is one of my favorite NEW roses in 2010,  PEPPERMINT SPLASH.  This picture was taken on 6/28/10.

This beauty is named STRIKE IT RICH.   Isn't it a gorgeous color?  This picture was taken 5/31/10.

This one is named PERFECT MOMENT.  I love the pink and yellow colors.  This picture was taken on 5/15/10.

This  beautiful rose is called SUMMER OF LOVE. This picture was taken on 6/20/10.

The colors in this rose are gorgeous.   Its name is SUNDANCE, and this picture was taken on 5/19/10.

Finally,   I saved my 2nd favorite rose in our yard until now.  These beauties are called VETERAN'S HONOR.  This beautiful red rose is HUGE and smells heavenly...  The picture was taken on 5/31/10.  (My 1st favorite rose was shown yesterday,  and was named Double Delight.) Hope you enjoyed all of my favorite 2010 Rose pictures...

We visited George's parents yesterday --and are working hard to get them to move in with their daughter in Tullahoma, TN.  They are 'thinking about it'.   George's sister has a great place for them --and they would be safe and well-taken-care-of...    Dad will be 99 in August and Mom will be 91 in May.  Both are legally blind --and still trying to live in their home, and remain independent.  Please pray for these two wonderful elderly people.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday.

Hugs,

Beautiful roses...every one of them! And George's parents sound amazing! They are of the same age as my husband's mother! She will be 99 in August as well! Imagine them all as babies at the same time... Oh my... do they share the same day even? The 6th? Please let me know if it is so!!
Blessings, dear Betsy,
Ann

My goodness ~ I sure hope George's parents decide to take George's sister up her offer. Such a worry to have them living on their own I think.

I wish you and George good luck Betsy!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful roses with us!

...what a beautiful sight...especially now when everything around us is white and gray! All the colors of the roses are great. The Sundance bud is gorgeous!

Now I want the pros and cons of growing all of these..needs lots of water...disease prone or not...ha!

Morning, Betsy! I love all your pretty roses. The colors are all beautiful. I think your IL's are amazing, at their age and they still want to be independent. I will keep them in my prayers.

The Veteran's Honor is an exceptional red rose!
I really liked all of these. The Strike it rich had such lovely variations on the bottom petals in contrast to the main color.
I think my favorite would be the peppermint splash even though the olthers are lovely.
I will pray for G's folks.
Have a lovely weekend--we're heading to Cinci. Blessings! b.

Wow Betsy....those are absolutely gorgeous.

I understand wanting to be independent but I hope when I get old and need help that I will look at what is best for my supporting family rather than what I want.

I do hope you can get Georges parents to move for every ones sake, especially theirs! They surely are a truly amazing couple!!!

Let's hope you and George make it as long!

Those gorgeous roses are a special viewing treat when there's so little color outside. I can only imagine the scent!!

I hope that you can convince George's parents to be comfortable and safe with a move. I'm sure it's hard to give up their home and independence. I wish you all well in moving forward.

Best,
Bonnie

my two favorites are the peppermint and the sundance. i do hope you can get your inlaws safely with their daughter. it is so hard for them to give up their independence, but at that age we both know they should.

Prayers are being lifted for George's parents.

Thank you for sharing these pretty roses. I think Sundance is my favorite.

Have a nice weekend.

What wonderful parents George and his sister have. Living independently at that age is fantastic.

Again with the beautiful Roses. I bet your yard is heavenly.

I hope George's parents do decide to 'make the move'. They don't realize it now but they will still be happy and can still strive for the independance they want. MB

Betsy your roses are absolutely stunning! !
The only scent of rose I like is the real thing.
How lucky you are to have roses everyday during the season.
Prayers for your in-laws....we are in the same situation.

Beautiful! I really like the Love and Peace in yesterday's post. The yellow center and pink outer petals is lovely. It would be hard to choose a favorite, they're all gorgeous. I've never had much luck with tea roses, but the Knockouts do well. I'm planning to plant more of those this year. But looking at these makes me want to try a couple of teas again! Have a great day, Cheryl

Wonderful roses, Betsy! Hard to decide on a favorite, they are all so pretty. I hope all works out for George's parents. It sounds like the move would be a good solution.

Hi Betsy, I like "Strike it rich" out of this new bunch of roses you are showing. I will be praying for your in-laws to find the perfect place to live. I understand about care-giving of elderly parents. I took care of my late mother for six years full-time before she passed away at 92. Have a great day!

My heart goes out to you and George's parents. It is so hard. They have lived independently so long and it is really hard to let go of that. I laughed when I saw his mother said, "I'll think about it." My mom's famous quote was, "We'll see."

Have a great weekend.

Sunny said...

Truly breathtaking, it would be difficult to choose a favorite.
What remarkable people George's parents are, God Bless them!
Happy weekend.

Another bunch of gorgeous roses! It's easy for me to pick a favorite from this bunch: Sundance!

My thoughts and prayers will be with your in-laws, their daughter and you and George. That is a difficult decision.

It's so hard for them to give up their independance. They are in my prayers. They do need someone to care for them now. Betsy you have beautifulest (is that a word) roses I've ever seen. Love them.

Lovely choices again. When my parents were getting ready to move to my town and retire I bought the house next door and fixed it up. They came to look at housing and I handed them the key. My dad went and looked and said I did a good job but the biggest horror was having to live with a kid, and the next was living in a care center. They chose living in a retirement high rise, but thanked me for the gracious idea.

They are so gorgeous,I never haven been able to grow them like you, I think my land here stinks, lol

Hi Betsy, I'll love them all and will take one of each.. please! They are gorgeous roses, you should be very prod!

It must be hard for George's parents to give up, but I pray they do.. for their sake and the family too.

warm hugs,
Pam

These roses are as beautiful as the ones yesterday. It's probably hard for your in-laws to feel as though they are becoming dependent on anyone after doing so well by themselves for so long. Prayers for peace in their hearts and minds that this move will be a good thing for all.

Betsy,
Every single one of those photos is absolutely gorgeous! I just want to keep staring at them. Now, the first is stunning with its detail of the veins; gosh, that is awesome!
I do have to admit that my favorite is the Perfect Moment...pale pink and yellow together are my favorite color combinations and that rose just epitomizes that concept of mine.
Thank you for sharing and have a fabulous weekend...I need to do some revisions and re-write on my book the publisher sent back to me on WEd. so that will be my task.
hugs to you!

Hi Betsey, I will certainly pray for George's parents. They must be very amazing people. It sounds as if they truly know how to be content and happy.

I have to tell you that with each of your roses that I saw, I would think, oh that will be my favorite for sure. They are sooo beautiful and it's nice to see your roses in the cold of winter. Thanks again for all you do to improve my days.
love, Rosalie ^.^)

The roses are gorgeous. Perfect Moment is my fav.
Sounds like a dilemma for George's parents. I'm sure they want to keep their independence, but they would surely be safer living with their daughter.
I will keep them in my prayers. Have a wonderful weekend, Betsy.
