Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

Homecoming 2010

Many of you have shared recent pictures of your children and/or grandchildren enjoying their school's Homecoming... WELL--not to be outdone,   I have some photos to share today of my oldest grandlove who is 16  (17 in November) and lives with her family in Texas.

This gorgeous young lady was the first girl to be born in my family (I had 2 brothers and 3 sons) ---so you can only imagine how excited I was when she was born.   It was so much fun buying things for a little girl!!!!  The only problem is that she has grown up much too fast...  I cannot believe that she is almost ready for college... Yipes!!!!

Today,  I will share pictures of "BA" (the name I'll call her) enjoying her "Homecoming" week at her high school with her boyfriend,  "C".   Above is a picture of the two of them at school during Homecoming week.   Below are more photos.

This is also a neat photo of BA and C at school....   See????  George and I aren't the only ones who wear matching shirts!!!!!! ha ha.....   Aren't they just the cutest couple?

Homecoming night is here ---and BA and C are all 'cleaned up' for the big dance...  All I can say is WOW....   I know that I'm the grandmother and supposed to say wonderful things about my grandloves. But truly, this granddaughter is absolutely the most beautiful young lady in the world!!!!  (I take no credit for her beauty....  She gets it from her gorgeous Mom --and from my handsome son.)

In the photo above this one,  BA is pinning a boutonniere on C... And in this photo,  C is putting a beautiful corsage on BA.  Isn't her dress gorgeous?

Here is a great picture of BA  with little sister, BE  (who is 13).  Yes,  this son of mine (middle one--out of my 3) and his wife are raising two beautiful daughters...  M and L  will be going through the same thing over the next few years with BE.  GEESH---these two girls have just grown up so fast!!!!  I cannot believe it myself...

Wish I lived closer and could see these grandloves more often.  George and I went to Texas last year to see both girls play softball (they are both excellent players) --and it rained the entire time we were there...   Oh Well--it was fun,  just being with them.

These last two pictures are my favorite ones,  of the gorgeous couple ready for the big dance.  I love to see young people dress up these days ---because it doesn't happen very often.  Seeing them both looking so fabulous is just wonderful!!!

And this one is my VERY favorite picture.  I introduce you to a gorgeous couple.  Can't you see me smiling from ear to ear?????   I am a very very proud Grandmother--as you can tell.   AND ---I want you to know that this young lady is not only pretty.   She's smart and she's a really great gal in all respects... My son and daughter-in-law have done a fabulous job of raising their two daughters...  God Bless them ALL.

Hugs,

P.S.  We didn't make it to the Smokies yesterday as we had planned..  We had a cloudy day here--so we decided to wait until the sun comes back out!!!!  There was rain all around us most of the day --but we only got a TINY TRACE (not even enough for a measure in the rain gauge)...  Hopefully,  today may give us another chance!!!   Do a Rain Dance for us!!!!  Thanks!

Both your granddaughters are lovely Betsy. I enjoyed these pictures so much. BA and C look stunning all dressed up for Homecoming. Her dress is really gorgeous. I also love their matching t-shirts just as I enjoy your and George's matching shirts on your hiking trips. Thanks for sharing these sweet pictures. I wish you and George a great day with lots of rain!

Your granddaughters are just so pretty Betsy, I couldn't help but notice they have your award winning smile ;)
Yes, they grow up so fast, mine are now in college, I hardly see them despite living one mile down the road, we all go in different directions everyday, or so it seems.
We have rain again today, I'll shoo it east !

You have beautiful granddaughters. Bet you really spoil them when you visit. Our children and grandchildren grow up so fast. I too am separated by many miles from my only son and his family. It has been so hard watching my grandson grow up in pictures and only being able to hug and kiss him once or twice a year. I think they seem to grow faster when we don't see them as often. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Betsy, you have beautiful grand-daughters! BA and C make a cute couple.
We got .23 of an inch of rain yesterday. That's not much, but enough to settle the dust. We are thankful.
Maybe when the sun comes out the foliage will be more colorful.

Beautiful!!!

So nice that you can share these times, via photos. Even if you're not living close by.

Btw, do you 'skype'? Whatever that computer program is, which allows voice and visual communication, between laptops? Our Grand daughter installed it on her 'Pop's' laptop, before going to college.

It's a new form of the old thing, I used to do... With a separate web cam. Visual and voice communication. Had to do it that way, with my old iMac. :-) It was a fad, and I did it, and stopped. Now it's built into laptops! :-)

Some of our family members have it, but not all. Just saying. :-)

What happy beautiful faces! Have you ever considered trying to Skype? I think that would be a must for long distance families.

Hey we are so dry here too. Burn restrictions are out, and no rain in sight until may next week when Hurricane ??? might bring some our way. Hope he/she dumps some on you too, but not too much and not all at once! We are such picky creatures aren't we. I bet the Good Lord just wants to smack us sometimes with all our specif wants and needs! ;-)

Well about TIME that you start putting stuff like this on your blog!! Two times in about a month now, good for you! I just love seeing bloggers post friends and family, because you feel you know them better when they invite you to all their outings and visits. You and I already know each other pretty well, but still it is so cool to be seeing more of your family. I remember when you posted your sons quite a while ago, too. Oh, Betsy, she is just a DOLL, why have you been hiding her?? So lovely, I know how proud you must be! I want to grab her and give her a big hug and kiss. She is truly beautiful, and she has a radiance from within. BA and C make an adorable couple, and the sweatshirts crack me up! Is she Little Betsy? Her silver gown is just so refined, yet beautiful and appropriate, just perfect!

Hi Betsy,
I've just some a few minutes looking back at your last few posts. Lovely fall color. In the past four days you've experienced the same as me - color changing quickly. There's a big difference in the tree behind your house. :)
Now, the lovely couple in this post - cute, cute, cute!!
Lovely dress and lovely smiles!
Grandmas have a right to brag - I know - being one myself. :)

Fred Alton said...

You have braggin' rights! The grand-daughters are beautiful indeed! I also like to see young people dress up occasionally. ☻

Hi Betsy, I guessed your granddaughter lived in TX just from seeing that first photograph of the home coming with her having "Mums". TX football homecoming games have a tradition of the girls and ladies making or purchasing natural or artificial mum corsages with lots of ribbons and charms attached. Very elaborate is the rule. Have a great day!

Gorgeous youngsters I know you are so proud !
Our rain last night was short lived and today we are having wind and sun again so the rain was no help.
It'll rain when God says so and we'll just have to be patient.
Have a blessed tomorrow
