Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

Mirror Lake --in Different Seasons

Yesterday, I took a picture of an almost frozen Mirror Lake here in Fairfield Glade. (Note picture above.) We pass by this lake every time we go to and fro through the Glade---so we enjoy seeing it during all of the seasons. This however is the first time we have seen it THIS frozen since we bought our home in 2002. We haven't had this much cold weather for this length of time since we moved here. Yesterday was the first day in over a week when the temperature went above freezing (and it still didn't go up by much)!!!! Then we had some more snow last night! But--'they' say that we are going to get a much-needed warm-up this week... Really??????

After thinking about Mirror Lake, I went back into my 'stash' ---looking for other pictures I have taken of the lake. I was able to find some ---so today, I am sharing Mirror Lake here in Fairfield Glade ----during all seasons!!!

Spring at Mirror Lake

Summer at Mirror Lake; This was in July of 2006 when two of my granddaughters were visiting us... (You won't believe just how these two have grown up since 2006.... Mercy Me!!!)

Mirror Lake during Late Summer

Mirror Lake in early Fall

My favorite Fall picture of Mirror Lake taken in late Fall

Finally, we are back to WINTER... As you can tell, they do not operate the fountain in winter. But--it doesn't even look like the same lake, does it????? Amazing how things look from one season to the next!!!! Hope you enjoyed Mirror Lake during all seasons!!!!

Hugs,

I remember these pics, what a beautiful place!!

We were out walking on one of our lakes this past weekend. I'll post pics soon. The ice is about 18 inches thick now so no fear of falling through!!

Golly, gosh. I have been away from the computer for a few days and I have lots of your posts to catch up. The last time I was hear you were complaining about not having much snow. It looks like you have plenty now (to shovel). Snow does make for pretty photos. I hope you don't have to go out in it much. Our news bulletins are full of stories about your bad winter and Europe's too. While our southern states are having a heatwave and the hotest days on record. We are lucky here although it is hot it is constantly around 30C whereas the southerners have 42C one day and 24C the next. You asked what we do on a cold winter's day....well we don't have any but funnily we do similar things on a very hot day because we stay inside in the airconditioning.
Your spring flowers were beautiful especially the tiger lily. Your showboat trip sounded like a wonderful birthday treat. You are such an old romantic, you! Goodonya!

Love seeing all the different seasons on the lake Betsy.
I may be partial to the Autumn shot, such vibrant colors, bring the reflection off the lake to a different level of beauty.
Yes, those grandchildren grow like little weeds ;)

How neat to see it from all times of the year! I think I like the bright green of Spring and the vivid colors of late fall the best. :)

Love the winter shot because I love snow. How thoughtful of the lake not to freeze totally, giving the wildlife a place to drink.
Too bad though it isn't cold enough to bring out the ice skaters for that would have been a lovely shot.

It's fun to see the same spot in all the different seasons. Fall is beautiful with all the colorful reflections.
Keep warm.

It's a beautiful lake. I don't know which season is my favorite, but I do know it looks the least inviting in the summer photo. Maybe I'm just tired of winter.

I don't care for artificial stuff,.. fountains and the like, but the shoreline is lovely. We have a Mirror Lake here too... in Lake Placid, NY. That's the home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics and only about 30 miles away.

What a pretty lake, Betsy! You are fortunate to be able to witness the changing of the seasons on that lake. It really is fascinating to see how different it looks at different times of year. I'd have to say that the autumn is my favorite, too, but they're all quite lovely.

It is pretty in every season but especially in the fall with those vivid trees surrounding it.

i think i prefer it in winter the most :)

the mirror is much smaller in winter, still it is beautiful. I think I prefer the colorful fall one the most. we are still at 28 and the frost looked like snow this morning. very harmful to our winter crops and tourist season. come on warm up

Beautiful series of the changing seasons!! Our Omnipotent God in his great wisdom planned these wonderful changes for us! Otherwise it would have been boring!

The late Fall is my favrotie too. You really captured the deep, beautiful fall colors.

Amazing how different the lake looks frozen. Snow really changes the perspective of the landscape.

Every scene of Mirror Lake is just lovely. And yes, it does look different in each season. Hope you are beginning to warm up now!

Don't you just love being able to experience every season? The late fall photo is my favorite also and then the snow and ice one of course! Those two models in front of the lake are pretty darn cute!

Oh wow, Betsy;) your photos are breathtaking! I also love the late fall one but the winter photo is fascinating to a warm African like me. How DO you cope with the cold. Brrr. Wrap up warm. (((Hugs))) Jo, North Africa.

The autumn shot is my favorite, too, but all seasons are beautiful there.

I absolutely love the late fall photo. The tree colors are stunning reflecting against the waters. All I need is a paintbrush and some paint.

I'm so ready for some warmer weather too.

That is a great idea showing the same place during the seasons.
It is a beautiful lake. I love the fall pictures.
Can you believe people's pools are freezing here in Texas. Up around Dallas they were showing frozen pools. Amazing.
I guess we'll appreciate our summer when it gets here.

Was this hole the remains of someone fishing? LOL.

It sure look very cold to me. DHL some of your inviting snow to me in Australia, it is scorching hot, and the car burns when we get into it..

...with this deep freeze we're living in, I can't even remember what the warm sun feels like! Thanks for waking up that memory with those lovely summer shots! They say it will be in the 40s by week's end here. I've enjoyed the snow, though. I hope we get another good snow storm!

I love the color of the fall one especially too! When I first found that I had several pictures of the same place I began making it a point to try and take a picture in each season in the same spot - just for some reference. I did this with our town hall and finally got a photo of snow in the park a few weeks ago - so I will be making over my mosaic again.

I am so behind in blog reading - our concert is coming up next week at school and so I have been frantic about it. My 5th grade babies are going to sing 3 parts! I started them off last year as 4th graders and they have grown so much, in using their singing voices - and their ability to sing 2 parts I knew I had to try 3 this year. I am nervous, cause that is the hardest part of the song and the part we don't quite have yet ... but they always come thru in the end .. don't they???? (reassurance needed here!)

Thanks for always visiting my blog and for being such a good encourager. With our similar music and church backgrounds - I feel a kindred spirit in you!

Stay warm and I will be praying for that 'warm up"

Valerie

A lovely lake area winter or summer. That really made a neat picture frozen like that. We even got up to 50 degrees today. Almost felt like a heat wave. We are due rain rest of week. You both take care and stay warm. Always happy when my TN. buddies visit.

I loved seeing Mirror Lake through all the seasons. So many lovely changes it goes through even during each single season. If I had to choose a favorite, I'd say spring. And, your granddaughters are really cute!

That was fun seeing the lake in all the seasons, isn't it amazing how snow can make it look so different.

This has been such a strange winter. We had winds that came through last night and brought in warm air. It hit sixty today, how weird is that?

Although it is very difficult to live here in the winter with the cold and snow, that is one of the things I love the BEST here (the changing seasons). It is like living in 4 different worlds...all gorgeous...
And when the snow melts and provides us with that lime green gorgeous new leaves and grass? It is like a rebirth!!! It really refreshes the soul...every single spring.
