What did you mean??????

My friend, Reida, sent me these 'cuties' through an email... I'm sure you have read some or all of them before, but they still can bring a smile to your face---or maybe a confused look!!!! I have added some photos from the internet. ENJOY!!!

Man Kills Self Before Shooting Wife and Daughter

(Well, let's see. How can that be????)

Something Went Wrong in Jet Crash, Expert Says

(Really? Ya think?)

Police Begin Campaign to Run Down Jaywalkers

(Now that's taking things a bit far, don't you think?! )

Panda Mating Fails; Veterinarian Takes Over

(What a guy!)

Miners Refuse to Work after Death

(Well---Those 'good-for-nothing' lazy so-and-so's! )

Juvenile Court to Try Shooting Defendant

(See if that works any better than a fair trial!)

War Dims Hope for Peace

(I can see where it might have that effect! )

If Strike Isn't Settled Quickly, It May Last Awhile

(Ya think?! )

Cold Wave Linked to Temperatures

(Who would have thought! )

Enfield ( London ) Couple Slain; Police Suspect Homicide

(They may be on to something! )

Red Tape Holds Up New Bridges

(You mean there's something stronger than duct tape? Tee Hee)

Man Struck By Lightning: Faces Battery Charge

(He probably IS the battery charge! )

New Study of Obesity Looks for Larger Test Group

(Weren't they fat enough?! )

Astronaut Takes Blame for Gas in Spacecraft

(That's what he gets for eating those beans!)

Kids Make Nutritious Snacks

(Do they taste like chicken?)

Local High School Dropouts Cut in Half

(Chainsaw Massacre all over again!)

Hospitals are Sued by 7 Foot Doctors

(Boy, are they tall!)

And the winner is....
Typhoon Rips Through Cemetery; Hundreds Dead

(Did I read that right? )

These are really funny, but sorta sad ---if you think about it. People are 'hired' to proof-read this kind of stuff BEFORE it gets printed.... Wonder if these 'proof-readers' took their morning pills from the Duh Can?????? Heaven help us!!!!!

Have a wonderful day---and be careful what you put in writing!!!!! Har Har Har

Much tamer than where my imagination was going.

Even after a very busy day, these made me laugh. You have to wonder about the wisdom behind some of these statements, and how they made it into print.Lol

Some of those I had to read a couple times to get what they were trying to say. I have to say though that first one has to be the winner.

Those are pretty funny. Those misplaced modifiers can change the meaning in a hurry.

Those are just too funny Betsy. It is amazing how one word out of place can change the entire meaning of a sentence. I agree on the winner, how on earth did that one get past the proof reader.

Thanks for the laugh. I really needed one today (see my email).
I often wonder when I see these type of bloopers in the news. Aren't journalists supposed to go to university to study written English?

Hey! I just noticed your side bar. I am the same Chinese animal as you.

I received this in an e-mail from a cousin and went to the web to find pictures to put with it - I'm making a ppt of it for my newspaper class. We are creating the first newspapers for the university were I teach, in Beijing, China.

Thanks to your site - I'm using the pictures already appropriately attached to some of the headlines!!

Thanks, again!!
