Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

Name your Favorites

Many bloggers throughout the country have been talking about Daffodils recently since they are among the early spring bloomers each year. I mentioned in another blog that I grew up calling them Jonquils --and there are other names used, depending upon where you are.

WELL----you may or may not know that there are many, many types of Daffodils. George and I have been adding different Daffodils to our collection each year. Today, I want to show you some of ours. You'll have to tell me your fav's!!!! Above is one that is seen quite often around the country. Its name is Colossal.

Copper Queen

Chromacolor

Decoy

One of my fav's----a double Daffodil called Replete

A different color of Replete Daffodil

A white-on-white named Mount Hood (Think of the snow on top of Mt. Hood!!!)

Easter Bonnet

Las Vegas

Fortissimo

This is a close-up of our 'little' Daffodils given to us by Dad Adams. Aren't they pretty??? Since they don't have a name, I have named them "John Adams".

I had to close with this picture---showing you our gorgeous little "John Adams" Daffodils... We have these in several places in our yard---and they bloom like this every year... They add so much color to the yard.

Hope you enjoyed our collection. NOW----which ones are your favorites?????
Hugs,

Betsy: I'm going with Replete and Decoy, although the second looks nothing like a waterfowl. I love that they have names that specific and that you remember tnem.

I love them all. I wish we could grow them here...too darn hot.

The chromacolor is my favorite! But they all are really lovely! And I never knew all those types of daffodils existed! :-)

I love the John Adams the best!

My husband likes your copper queen. I like the large, all yellow one in your first picture.

I like them all Betsy but I love the ones with the orangey centers.

The people who lived in our house before us were big on naturalized gardening. Thus we have patches of different kinds of dafodils on our lawn. It drives my husband crazy when it's time to mow the lawn! I always called the our varied types dafodils Narcissus.

I'll stick with good old Colossal. It's traditional, it's pretty, it works for me. Nice shot of it!

Decisions, decisions, decisions! I love them all, but I'd love a bunch of Fortissimos in a lovely vase on my kitchen table please! Thanks for these gorgeous shots!

Hmmm?I think my favorite would be one of each in a bouquet.:)

I like the daffs too. although my favs are the tiny Tete-te-teTe and then I even like the King albert for extra large---but I will take them all. The skagit Valley has acres and acres full of golden yellow where it is a Spring crop--grown for their bulbs. MB

The yellow double repletes but I wish I had all of them in my yard right now!

Just stunning! And I didn't realize there was so much vairety. The scents must be wonderful - at least I hope the hybridizers preserved that part!

(p.s. I used to watch Criminal Minds, that's a great show and super cast, but, like we all must when they start moving shows around in time slots, I ended up not being able to watch it because it conflicted with others shows I was more invested in. I wish they would quit doing that!)

They are all beautiful but I think I will have to stick with the Colossal as that is what I grew up seeing every spring. In fact one year when I was fairly young I proceeded to pick every single blossom and give them to my mom in a bouquet. She told me they were pretty but next time let's leave some for other people to enjoy looking at.

We have "Easter Bonnet" too. They are all just beautiful.

Betsy - you have a lovely collection of daffodils. I didn't know there were so many. I like the Mount Hood and the peach color Replete. I must have me some of those. Did you get them from a nursery.

All of them look good,
but I'm going with Mount Hood.

and didn't even know it!)

All lovely! I like "Easter Bonnet" a lot; I've not seen that one before.

I'll have a photo of white daffys on my Today's Flowers post on Sunday, but they are growing in my daughter's yard, not mine. Perhaps I can grab a bulb or two when it's time.

Betsy how can one choose! They are all stunning beauties..but if I must the Easter Bonnet caught my eye! LOVELY bunch of daffodils!

I have never seen the Easter Bonnet one, how precious, and I was raised with calling them daffodils as in the Willaim Wordsworth variety :)

They are all beautiful but I like the Decoy best. Enjoyed seeing all the different kinds. I did not know there were so many.

I can't pick a favorite of daffodils anymore than I can with the daylilies, or the iris when they are blooming. I prefer whatever is in bloom that day. :)

Betsy, I didn't have my glasses on reading your post, and in the process of leaning forward very close to the computer screen, a bee flew out of the third photo, and stung me on the nose! (Or has it just been a long day??)

Betsy, First of all, they're all beautiful. Secondly, I love the Replete and Easter Bonnet, I love the pink on them. You must really have a beautiful yard, especially this time of the year.

Thanks for visiting my blog.. I hope you enjoyed our Daffodil collection. I asked you to choose your favorite. Some of you did and some didn't --which is fine. Here's the three top Daffodils you chose:
Colossal--7
Replete--7
Easter Bonnet--6

They are all pretty ---and all of them except Las Vegas got some votes... Maybe next year, we'll add even more.

Thanks again and Hugs,
Betsy

Betsy, I really enjoy your gorgeous daffodil pictures, it's hard to stop looking at them. My favorite is the John Adams because they look sweet and compact. But, they are all special.

Betsy, they are all so lovely--I know I have never seen the Easter Bonnet! A couple of the others I am pretty sure I have never seen. I will be watching for the Easter Bonnet--I want some!
