HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA

Happy Birthday, America!!!!! When I think of the 4th of July, I think of parades, picnics, family and friends, concerts in the park, and fireworks!!!!! My favorite 4th of July food is WATERMELON. I don't think I have ever missed having a piece of watermelon (with salt of course) on the 4th!!!!! It's just a tradition!!!

I also love Patriotic Music ---and always look forward to hearing it, especially on the 4th of July. Today I will feature one of my favorite songs, "God Bless the USA" sung by Lee Greenwood. Here is a video for you to enjoy today ---and the lyrics, published below.

GOD BLESS THE USA
by Lee Greenwood

1. If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I'd worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with my children and my wife.

I'd thank my lucky stars,
to be livin' here today.
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can't take that away.

CHORUS
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

2. From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of TENNESSEE.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and it's time we stand and say.

Repeat Chorus Above

What are you doing on the 4th??? We will stay home and have our own holiday picnic. We may take a ride sometime this weekend. George says that we may go and see the fireworks this year (here in Fairfield Glade) because he wants to take some pictures with his new camera I think!!!!!

Other than that, I hope to see some patriotic concerts on TV. I always look forward to watching the Knoxville Symphony's 4th of July concert, followed by Knoxville's fireworks display. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Stay SAFE and I'll blog again on Tuesday!!!

Hugs,

Our Daylilies---Part II

Wow---welcome to JULY... Time is flying by these days it seems!!! Our yard has been gorgeous with color these past few months. So far this year, we have had 16 different varieties of Daylilies ---each with many, many blooms. They have been so pretty!!!!! I hate it when they are all gone! We do have a few reblooming Daylilies ---so maybe I'll see some more in the Fall.

Today I'll share with you six more of our Daylilies. If you want to see any of the others I have published, go to my sidebar, scroll down to LABELS and click on DAYLILIES 2010. Above is one that you will want to eat... Its name is STRAWBERRY CANDY.... Want a bite????? Below are more!

CAROLYN CRISWELL

HUSH LITTLE BABY

DARING DECEPTION

EYE-YI-YI

ROSIE MEYER

As I mentioned above, we have been lucky with our flowers this year so far... Most everything has bloomed and been very pretty --despite the fact that we have had horribly hot temperatures and dry conditions in June. I hope you enjoyed seeing more of our Daylilies today.

Since many of you have asked about my doctor's appointment, I'd better give a short update.. (Then I'll quit talking about it --at least for a day or two!!!! ha).. Knee Replacement surgery won't have to happen --at least for quite sometime. Beginning in two weeks, I will have a Synvisc injection in the knee --which should help. I will have this injection every six months as needed. In the meantime, I am trying two new types of medications (one for Arthritis and one for pain)... Let's just hope that neither of these cause me to have stomach problems --like the last medications did. I like my doctor and think that she is on the right track when it comes to me and my crazy knee!

Have a wonderful Thursday! Thanks so much for your kind words and prayers for me these past couple of months as I manage to get back to 'normal' --whatever that is!!!

Hugs,
