More Daylilies in our Yard this Summer

Rosie Meyer Daylilies
This is my second post showing off some of our 30 varieties of DAYLILIES in our yard this summer...  They are mostly all gone now (pout pout!) ---but really did show off for us this year... IF you missed that first post,  click HERE to see it....

Today,  I'll show you eight more of these beauties....  Be sure to click on the photos to see them larger...

Janice Brown Daylilies

Eye Yi Yi Daylilies  (and Bright Sunset Daylilies behind and above)

Elegant Candy Daylily

Pandora's Box Daylilies   (new for us this year)

Bicolor Daylilies

Fooled Me Daylilies

Early Bird Cardinal Daylily

We have had lots of variety and many different colors this year...  Hope you have enjoyed seeing more of the daylilies...

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  We finally have been getting some rain here ---so things are beginning to 'green up' again...  I'll share more of our daylilies with you soon --along with our roses and lilies..

++++++++++++++++
Here's an added treat for you!!!  Look at these two precious babies!!!!  Mama finally brought them out onto the golf course fairway behind our home...  Not sure whether the other large deer is an adult or a teenager!!!  It was very 'prancy'....  BUT--don't you just love the babies with their spots?????  (Picture taken yesterday--7/22/12)

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Betsy

What a cute name - Eye Yi Yi Daylilies !! Your flowers are so bright and beautiful as usual. The deers are looked slimmer and taller than the ones I saw in Japan. They are really friendly and roam everywhere!

Ann said...

They are all gorgeous but my favorite are the Janice Brown day lilies. Love the colors in those.
How sweet that the deer family was out for a stroll.
Hope you have a great day

Oh Betsy I was happily admiring the lillies and telling myself I would pick a favourite and I scrolled a little further and there were the deer!! I was so delighted with this little treat that I forgot about the lillies!!!

Your daylilies are so beautiful. You must be the luckiest person on earth to wake up to these every morning except in winter... amazing!

Would you want us to follow each other? I deem we've been visiting each other's blog for sometimes now :D

I love all those Day Lilies.I have never seen most of those colours.
The deer are precious.Somehow the spots just add to their cuteness.I hope that Mam deer teaches those little ones to leave your flowers alone.

Hi Betsy, too beautiful again. Bi-colour is my favourite but they're all lovely. I just LOVED the baby deer with their spots. And yes, the one larger deer does look full of the joys in your joyful garden. Thanks for your edification on my post about the riots in our hometown. We, in Africa and lately in South Africa, always think these things are unique to developing countries. Bless you dearest Betsy. Love and hugs Jo PS

I had to stop and let a sweet little deer family cross the road in our neighborhood on Friday. The babies stopped right in front of me as if they were inspecting my car. They soon ambled off into the little copse of trees on the other side of the road. Your daylilies are stunning I'd love to see a long shot of them in your garden!!

Best,
Bonnie

Lovely Lilies, Betsy! And you know I like to see the wildlife!
Happy Monday!

Love your day lily display. Mine are almost gone now too. I do have some of the stella d'oro satrting to send up new bloom stalks though. One of mine is I think an Eye yi yi (?) and it has produced so many blooms for so many weeks. What a treat.

Anni said...

That is such a common occurrence on golf courses where deer see the grass on the other side much greener. LOL Precious photo of the family Betsy.

I think I like Pandora's best of your lilies, I've not seen that coloration before.

Thanks for stopping by to view my bird photo blog yesterday....much appreciated.

Your day lilies are just gorgeous. I think one of our varieties is also Pandora's Box. We used to have about 50 different types at our other place, but we whittled it down to about 10 here. It was a great year for daylilies in Tennessee. We still have a couple of them blooming this week. It's been an extra long season.

Love the baby deer! We have a wee one visiting our back yard with her momma. It was playing tag with a rabbit (Marty!) the other day! Too cute for words.

Love the names of your lilies. The picture of the deer and fawns is fantastic.

So many beautiful varieties and colors! Love those deer--at least those babies stayed with their mother. I haven't seen the little ones we had in our yard since that day.

Hi there, Betsy...gorgeous daylilies! I had to smile at the names Eye Yi Yi and Fooled Me. I'd love to know the story behind "Fooled Me." It must be fun to name flowers. :-)

The fawns are adorable. Better the deer be out there on the fairway than in your garden having lunch!

So thankful for the rain and the 'greening'!!

Hi Betsy, what a beautiful array of Lilies you are sharing with us today. I love their gorgeous colors.
And the deer is a wonderful added treat. Those fawns are adorable.

I love your colorful lilies, Betsy, and such lovely captures as always! And what can I say!! The deer and fawns are SO delightful! Thanks for including them! Hope you have a good week!

I wish I have our lillies too:) They are beautiful. And think that you know all their names. I only have few and I just call them lilies. Hi hi. The last picture just melted my heart:)

Cheryl @ The Farmer's Daughter said...

Beautiful lilies! I've probably said this before, but I had no idea there were so many different varieties. The grass is definitely greener than here. Our golf course down the highway is so brown, it's sad how dry it is. But! They say we may get rain in a few days. Keeping fingers crossed! The little fawns are so cute. Our 5 deer are still coming up from the woods to the middle of our back 6 every evening. I'm afraid the pickings are slim in the garden this year!!

Glad your finally getting some rain. The same here and I'm thankful for the cooler temps!!!

About your daylilies, how long do the blooms usually last? It is similiar to an Iris bloom?

The deer are precious. What a treat! I like this pic a lot. It looks like 2 does with the baby deer:) In any case, they are precious!

Hope you had a fun weekend. Say hi to George! Chris:)

Lilies are lovely! And the deer...what a treat to have them visit! We see them every year when we go to the beach. There are many wooded areas on Jekyll and at dusk, the deer come out to roam the roads and neighborhoods!

Buttercup said...

Gorgeous. Each one is prettier than the one before it.

It must seem like living in paradise with all those lovely lilies. I had a few, but nothing to compare to yours. My great grandson would really enjoy seeing those little deer. Betsy, I tried to respond to your comment today, but it took me to Google+ which I do not have.

Lynda said...

It's a gift from God to see the deer, isn't it?!! Don't you wish that when winter arrives, you could just add water to your flower pics and they would make an instant bouquet?

carolina nana said...

Those fawns are so cute with all their spots. They won't look cute when they get a little bigger and start eating your flowers !!!

Beautiful daylilies. How do you keep the deer from eating them?

Faye said...

That Rose Meyer looks like Tangerine Tango THE color for 2012. The lovely thing about daylilies is that new ones open every day so there's always a morning surprise.

Hi Betsy, I see you visiting lots of my friends so I don't know how it is that we've not met. I hope the deer don't like your beautiful daylilies...what a lot of variety you have. I must send a friend over to see them. She's a daylily nut.
