More Beautiful Lilies in our Yard (Part III)

Our lilies and daylilies have really put on a show this year. I think I have counted 23 different types of lilies in our yard. All of the lilies that I've already shown are in posts which can be found by clicking on the label, LILIES, on my sidebar.

Today, I will show you seven more of our lilies. These --which have bloomed later than the others, are some of the prettiest ones I think. Above is a popular one which I have seen on several other blogs. Its name is STARGAZER. Six more are below.

ORANGE TIGER LILY

PINK PERFECTION

MUSCADET

OPUS I

BROADWAY

GOLDBAND

AMERICAN DREAM

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The picture above was taken in June of 1959, and is me kneeling behind my mother's beautiful lilies. I wish the picture was in color. My Mom loved her flowers ---and our yard in my hometown in Big Stone Gap, Virginia was always one of the prettiest ones in the area (in my opinion).

Hope you have enjoyed seeing all of our lilies.

Hugs,

Hi Betsy, Love all your lilies and what a treasure that photo is of you. You should have George photograph you beside your flowers and enlarge and frame it and the one above together!

Beautiful lilies, Betsy. It takes an unbelievable amount of work to have lilies around here. The deer think the blossoms are the best dessert around. Keeping them means lots and lots of deer deterrent on a regular basis.

Wow, those are beautiful! I didn't realize there were so many different kinds of lilies. You guys are great gardeners, but it must take a lot of time and a lot of work!

At first I did not even see YOU behind the lilies. Well it is easy to see where you get your love of flowers from.
I had stargazer lilies in my wedding bouquet..they are special to me too.

Betsy, your flowers are extremely beautiful. Your yard must be like a park. Yours are the kind of blossoms I was looking for when we visited our city's rose gardens. You must have a very special touch--or is that a "green thumb?"

God bless your day! Janice from Indiana

Betsy, I've just been catching up on your last 12 entries. Yes, I was WAY behind what with the trip to the coast and that Mingus keeping me hopping!

Your flowers are amazing ... you have such a variety of types and colours. I mostly grow veggies.

That meal you had for your anniversary was AMAZING! I've never seen such a spread for two.

So I guess green thumbs run in your family.

Your lilies are gorgeous. How can you remember all the names? I would forget I'm sure with all that variety. My favorite is the photo of you behind your mama's flowers. I love old photos! That clump of lilies was gorgeous. I wonder what color they were...

You certainly do have some lovely lilies! I was glad to see the tiger lily. I drove home from middle TN today and thought I saw a wild tiger lily on the side of the road...of course, always where I can't stop to take a closer look. But maybe it wasn't a mirage after all!

You have such variety of Oriental lilies, Betsy. I think they are my favorites of all the flowers. Could it be the wonderful scent?
