Looking up to SHARP TOP peak; We didn't have time to go to the top of Sharp Top this trip--but we will stay an extra day next year so that we can get back up there!!! |
BUT--today I am going to share Part II of my pictures from the Peaks of Otter on my birthday (8/5/19).... IF you missed Part I, click HERE to see those pictures first....
Hope you enjoy Part II from this amazing place!!!!
This is us taken from the peak of Sharp Top ---taken on a previous trip to the Peaks of Otter... We opted to take the bus up and then hike the rest of the way.... |
Our view from the top of Sharp Top---looking down at Lake Abbott. You can see the lodge housing down there... Isn't it gorgeous from up there??? That's why we want to do it AGAIN next year. |
A view from our balcony of Lake Abbott |
One of our TWO walks around Lake Abbott on the day we were there... We were coming out of our lodge building and heading down to the walking path... |
As we walked around the lake, I took this picture of the main lodge building (check-ins and restaurant there). |
Love the reflections in the water in this picture; The Peaks of Otter is a great place to just RELAX... People here were enjoying the big campfire!!! |
The Birthday Girl on our walk across the lake. |
Lodging at Peaks of Otter; Our room was on 2nd floor in Building 1 (on the left) |
I took this picture of George on our walk around the lake. |
Walking around the lake gives us so many pretty views from all directions. |
A big dinner for the Birthday Girl; That Pork Chop was INCREDIBLE --but too big for one meal. We took a bunch home with us for more dinners!!!!!! |
A beautiful sunset across Lake Abbott --after a beautiful day... |
Have an awesome week!!!!!
Hugs,
|

You had a very nice birthday trip. What a beautiful place that is. It looks like it would be very relaxing there too.
Hello,
Looks like a wonderful place to celebrate your birthday! The views and photos are all beautiful. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Your beautiful photos make me want to go back there -- SOON!!
Every time you share your pictures, I want to visit the places you visit.
Betsy, This sure is a beautiful area! My knees would prevent me from walking too far and certainly not up and down a mountain... As for relaxing, ya'll seem to do that really well. If I'm not on the move every couple of days looking for something I haven't seen, I get bored. Road trips R us! As for that birthday pork chop, with the sides, it might even be too big for me at one meal... Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Can see why they call it Sharp Top. Looks like a delightful place to stay and that pork chop was HUGE. You are sure you weren't on fire? Sure looked like it.
Such wonderful pictures from this trip!! My favorites are the view from your balcony and the two following it. You are so skinny!! How on earth do you maintain? You could be a senior super model.
I like the photo of the two of you. That meal is huge!
Beautiful landscapes!
Gorgeous scenes. I can't help but wonder if you even have a chance to unpack your bags between trips. Good to see you enjoying life to the fullest.
It looks like such a beautiful place. You and George both look so happy. Thank you for sharing your visit with us.
Blessings,
Betsy
Lovely scenes. Your header photo is gorgeous!
Looks lovely! And what a beautiful sunset.
Dear Betsy, what a lovely way to spend a birthday. The setting is gorgeous and both you and George are so talented with your cameras. I'd love to visit and stay in that lodge complex at Lake Abbott. Such beautiful country. Makes me want to sing "America the Beautiful"!!! thanks for posting the photographs and sharing your birthday celebration with us. Peace.
Incredible pics. What a lovely place to stay. It looks like you had a really enjoyable birthday. The size of that steak!! I think it would last me a week! It’s really good to catch up with you again and see what you're up to!
Belated birthday greetings. Joan
