Every time we go, we take Dad out to lunch and then for a long ride in the area... He loves that!!!! This particular time, after lunch (and believe me, that 99 yr. old man can EAT), we went to the Ledford Mills area to check out some waterfalls...
Today I'll share some pictures with you from that fun day... Above is a picture of POND FALLS, found at the Ledford Mill (where there used to be an old mill) Bed and Breakfast... Be sure to click on the pictures to see them larger.
This is WETUMPKA FALLS... It's a pretty little waterfall, don't you think, even if it has such a big name!!!!
I took this picture of George at Wetumpka Falls...
And ---sitting in the car is our "Star of the Show" today!!!! This is Dad Adams ---who will be 100 years old in August of this year.... Isn't that amazing?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hope you have a beautiful day. Thanks so much for those of you who have been so nice to take the Word Verification off of your blog... I have tried as much as FIVE times at times trying to get the spelling correct... Ridiculous!!!! Thanks again.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful photos of your visit with Dad Adams! I love seeing all the moss on the rocks at the waterfalls. Have a nice day, Betsy.
My Dad wasn't nearly the age of Dad Adams, when he got sick. However, even at his sickest, he was always sharp with his money matters!
Sensational scenery!! Dad Adams is a STAR!! And thanks again to you Betsy, for being the total reason I got that W.V. off my Blog!! Rose
What a wonderful visit!
I'm sure your FIL loves the attention you are giving him when you come to visit. Love that you made him a big part of your day!
100 years - amazing indeed! Love all your waterfall shots.
I have a blurb tomorrow posting about the word verification on my blog.
Dad Adams really looks great!! It's great that you can still visit and take him places. Beautiful country side. I really love your photos today. I'M HOMESICK!! We usually have our family reunion at the end of June and I am so looking forward to it. There are so many days that I wish that I could move back there. But my grandkids are here and I don't want to leave them...
Happy trails,
Brenda
the Wetumpka falls is really different from the average falls, i like it and the twins at the top. glad you got to spend time with your FIL, he looks good.
Congratulation to your dad who looks sharp as a tack. Aren't you the lucky lady to have had him in your life for so long?
Your FIL really looks great ^_^ 100 years?! wow - it's amazing.
Lovely waterfall.
Have a fantastic Day!

What beautiful waterfalls. I wish we had a few more here in WI. George's dad looks great for his age.
How sweet of you to take your FIL out along on your drive and out to eat. I bet he really enjoyed your visit.
I love that little falls,it is so pretty and I think it should have a prettier name, but who am i to say that.
Dad Adams looks great and it is such a blessing to still have him with you.
Well, the falls do rumble a bit don't they - I looked up the meaning! Glad you were able to visit dad Adams again and enjoy a special time with him. Bet you have fun together 'cause he looks sharp as a tack! Have a great day you two!
What a lovely area, and an enjoyable outing. I have been leaving notes to those that still have the verification.
how awesome - 99 and still going (pretty) strong. :)
You find such pretty areas to explore. That Wetumpka Falls looks lovely, and I'll bet there are times when the water flows heavily enough to allow it to live up to its rather impressive name.
It is a wonderful blessing to George's Dad having you visit and take him out. Not many want to be bothered with us seniors. I think he looks great to be a 100 in August. Maybe we could celebrate together. Mine is in August as well. My grandmother wanted to live to be a 100 and be on TV. Bless her heart, she made it to 98.
What an amazing man! God bless him! =)
So, how did the falls get that name? :)
Dad Adams is an amazing man...just think, you will have George at least until he is 100!!!
You and George are blessed to be able to spend time with his dad. I'm sure Dad Adams has some wonderful stories to tell! Glad you had a good trip and enjoyed the beautiful waterfalls.
You do have the most beautiful waterfalls in your part of the world, Betsy! I always love the tours you take us own and your captures are wonderful -- the next best thing to being there myself! Hope your week is going well!
Sylvia
That is amazing!!! Turning 100 is pretty incredible. You both are so lucky to have him around. And I think your area is really beautiful. I'm not familiar with it so it refreshing to see photos like these.
Enjoyed your pictures of Wetumpka Falls - and you and George and the incredible Dad Adams. I entered the 9th grade of school in Tullahoma - but only stayed for three weeks - then we moved to New Orleans, LA. Quite a change for a 13 year old boy! ☺
Hi Betsy..
I think Dad Adams looks great! Wow, 100 in August. Now, this will call for a big celebration.
Every day when I come to your blog, I start singing "On The Road Again"...
I love seeing all the new places that you and George travel to...
Have the best of days..

Dad Adams looks amazing. My mom is just four years behind him. I know what you mean about being sharp when it comes to money! They sometimes fear they will outlive their money
I just love your passion for waterfalls.
That is great that you go to see Dad Adams so often. I'm sure he looks forward to those outings!!
As usual great photos.
I have had the same problems with word verification as you, I wonder why they changed it? When I comment on a blog that has it, I tell them about it and ask them to remove it, some bloggers don't even know about it! This sweet little falls sounds like it has an Indian name, it is CUTE! I am glad George's dad is still eating well, that is one thing that goes early when someone is beginning to fail. They have no appetite. We have good friends, maybe I have told you this, Nancy and Hiram. His mom lives here and they just celebrated her 107th birthday!! And she still cooks for the family!!! They want her to stop but she likes to keep busy, a good idea.
I am sure Georges dad enjoyed your visit, lunch and ride to such a beautiful spot, Betsy.
Its amazing that he can live on his own at 99.
Hugs, Pam :)
I agree about that stupid word verification it drives me bonkers. Another lovely waterfall and it does look like spring is in the air. Old man Adams is doing well for his age. Having a loving son and DIL helps.
I wondered if they named it Wetumpka Falls to compensate for it's smallness. ;)
Great pics.
what a great honour... to reach the 100 mark. congratulations to your Dad. God is big. My dad would have been 100 this past Jan 18...
they would maybe have had so much in common.
Beautiful falls. How nice that you are able to frequently visit with your father in law. 100 is quite impressive
Dad Adams - bless him what a wonderful age.
Great falls and pics too.
we want to be just like you!!! The waterfalls are gorgeous..lucky you.
and good for dad Adams!! wow..that is old!
I am your newest follower...pls follow back if you can.
You two are so sweet to go see that very special guy so often and take him places that he probably wouldn't get to see other wise. It has to make his day and yours.
I love the pictures as usually - but I love how you and George take such good care of him. I know it means a lot and you'll never be sorry.

Dad Adams looks wonderful for 99!! I'm sure he really enjoys your visits and the trips out!
I love the little waterfall. It has a lot of character with the wood overflow, or whatever it's called!
or is that rock?
or is that rock?
Just think 99 years...what an amazing accomplishment... to be able to keep your self active enough to live 99 years. Most people that old are unable to really do much!

At least you know George has those long life genes. I also see where he gets his good looks. Does he look as much like his dad as I think he does?
Blessings

Bless his heart! I bet he had fun getting out to see the sights! And how sweet of you two to look after him a bit!
Hi Betsy, loved the tour. I never get anywhere to see nature so your photos are very enjoyable. Hope your Dad stays well and happy. No doubt you do him more good than you can realize right now.
I love this pretty little waterfall! I'm sure Dad Adams had a wonderful day with you two. It's great that he still has such a good appetite and can get out and about! Lovely photos, Betsy! Take care.
Beautiful photos! What a great story also... It's nice that you two go and visit him all the time.
So serene and pretty. And your dad Adams at 100yrs still going for a drive in the car. How wonderful. Bless you all Betsy! xx
100 years come August. Awesome, especially since be is still getting around.
I hate to say it, Betsy, but no sooner did I stop word verification and anonymous porn comments started arriving. Verification may go back up. Nasty stuff.
I love all that moss on those trees and rocks.
100 years old? Fantastic!
I hope you are having a wonderful week Betsy!
xo Catherine
What a fun day for the three of you! That is a pretty waterfall, even if it is small for it's big name. :)
Lovely thing to do with Dad Adams - 99 is a really good age - particularly like Pond Falls photo.
What a sweetie your Father in law is. And all the shots of the falls make me miss the mountains, so I live thru your shots. (o:
100 sure is a milestone. Bully for him!
Oh you must put Dad Adams on Willard Scott's jelly jar in August. I think it is wonderful that y'all take him out and make the trip an enjoyable one for him. Neat falls. Now how many does that make you have visited or do you even keep count any more? Peace
Beautiful photos of the Ledford Falls. I'm so glad Dad Adams had a great time. He looks really good. It's hard to believe he's that old. He sure looks much younger. Glad you guys had a wonderful time together. Beautiful photos as always!
What a remarkable man! The waterfalls are so pretty.
Awww, I really like the photo of Dad Adams...he looks very content. Your photos are beautiful Betsy and you are looking marvelous!
My grandma died 2 days before her 103rd birthday. She got around really well on her own. Did her own cooking, baking, etc and her mind was as sharp as a tack. Hearing wasn't the best. She broke her hip and while in the hospital for the first time in her life she got pneumonia and died. George looks so much like his dad. His dad still has a sparkle in his eyes that shows he is enjoying his adventure.
Love the lay of the land around Wetumpka Falls. Wouldn't a cabin up there on the hill to the right be wonderful!
It's wonderful that at 99 years old Dad Adams can get out and enjoy the day.
It was almost 60 here yesterday and spring was in the air. This weekend we're back to 38. :(
He looks pretty durn good. Glad he can get out and see some nature. Has he written his history?
God bless Dad Adams! I look forward to seeing your blog about his 100th birthday.
Wetumpka Falls are beautiful!
Dad Adams looks good, I'm glad to hear he is doing okay. That is a really cute little waterfalls. I really like all the moss on the trees.
I'm looking over at your weather widget and it says it's 65 degrees right now. Spring has sprung in your area. We may have some snow this weekend.
I like that little waterfall...looks like it is in a real pretty area. How wonderful that George's dad still likes to get out and go.
Yes Dad Adams is truly amazing. Bless his heart. Are these new waterfalls or are you on your second or third time around for them. Reminds me of the covered bridges we loved in the NE and Indiana and Iowa, except we can't get back to them as easy as you do with the waterfalls and nature is always changing. You and George should publish a coffee table book on Waterfalls. You certain have enough pictures and research for a book. You could self publish and have it read for Christmas.
Lovely pictures. George's dad looks very happy to be with you..
