Are you tired of hearing about all of the snow in the SOUTH???? We have about 4 inches (maybe 5) ---but my son in Chattanooga had about 9 inches, and even Atlanta had several inches. This is RARE for our part of the country. I told someone today that I don't think we have seen the ground much at all here since Christmas. We haven't had a 'big' snow yet--but we have had many small ones!!!
Just 'cause you 'want' to see MORE snow pictures, I have a few to share today... Ha Ha.... Above is one of my favorites since it shows our big flowerbed in front almost totally covered with snow... Below are more.
George had the grill out on Sunday night since he fixed some Kielbasa for us... Obviously, we won't use the grill now!!!! ha
I took this picture out of the side sliding-glass door. This is the upper side of the yard --looking toward the back.
This picture is of one of our side yard flowerbeds. The snow really had piled up in this area. This is the way our front flowerbed looked after a previous snow. This time though, as you can tell by the first picture at the top, the snow covered up the entire bed in the front.
Wanna come and sit on the bench with me?????? This is the bench out front where I sit and admire all of our roses in Spring and Summer... Don't think we'll be sitting out there anytime soon!!!!
Here is a picture of a couple of my feeders. The snow brought MANY birds to them yesterday, along with the other five feeders... They are eating us out of house-and home these days --but I'm glad I can feed them.
The birds really LOVE the new heated birdbath. Above is a Bluebird and a Goldfinch. For your information, the heated birdbath does not really 'heat' the water. It just keeps it from freezing. Birds need to drink water --and it is hard for them to find water at certain times of the year. Glad I could help!!!!
I love snow as much as my husband hates it... Of course, he is the one who is out there shoveling the driveway, while I wander around taking pictures... Ha ha....
One reason I enjoy a new snowfall is that it just seems as if God has dotted the earth with peace and tranquility... It just feels so clean and fresh.
Have a wonderful Tuesday...
Hugs,

Hi Betsy and thanks for sharing the pretty pictures. Aren't you delighted you purchased the heated bird bath when you did. The blue bird and goldfinch are so sweet getting a drink! Enjoy the quiet and beauty of this day.
Hi Betsy..i love snow. i would never get bored of snow, because we never had snow here in Indonesia. your pics are so pretty, as always..
Happy Tuesday! =)
Snow is supposed to grace this area this afternoon into possibly Thursday. The 'powers to be' have already discussed an early dismissal for today. Frankly I'm ready for a honest to goodness snowfall--one that totally coats--one that covers and brings 'peace and tranquility'.
Your pictures are beautiful. I'm sure you have many bird fans with all your feeders---it's wonderful you can do that!
Enjoy. Blessings and love--beth
All we got was a dust of snow. Thats okay I will let you enjoy all that snow. Great shots of it anyway =)
I think snow makes everything look so clean and peaceful and the air smells it's best.
I'm with George. I like looking at the pretty snow and the quiet .crisp, freshness of it but I would hate to work in it or have to walk in it. However, right at this moment I would prefer snow to what we are having at the moment.
Last year I am afraid I got SICK of that beauty and tranquility. This year we are more normal...getting snow today they say. We have a long driveway that is really unhealthy to try to shovel that much. So, if our four wheel drive cannot make it...then we stay home.
Can't show too many snow pictures for me. We did get a small amount but nothing like you did. Just beautiful.
The birds are scarfing up my groceries also but it is so neat seening those babies getting some needed calories.
Like that geometric look of the flower bed.
Your world is beginning to look a lot like mine.I would feel right at home there now,:)
Blessings,Ruth
Peace, tranquility, clean and fresh ... Amen!
Gee, I wonder what a big snowfall would look like? Your last two posts of the Woodpeckers and Bluebirds were wonderful!
I think I agree with George on the snow part ~ but hey ~ if you enjoy it ~ all the power to you! I don't shovel it either. That is for hubby and sonny boy to do! ;)
Happy Tuesday Betsy!
xo Catherine
I love the snow and your pictures, especially of the birds. Interesting shot of the goldfinch and bluebird on the birdbath. We have a small creek at the back of our house so the birds have no trouble finding water here.
It was a good thing we didn't have school yesterday, because I spent most of the day keeping the bird feeders stocked and chasing away huge flocks of blackbirds.
I have a love/hate relationship with the snow. I love how it covers the ground and makes it look so clean and pure, hiding the uglyness that winter can cause. But then I hate the cold, the shoveling of it off my driveway. But then if there is enough of it, I get an unexpected day off work making it all good ;o)
Love the pictures from around your beautiful place. It is so pretty there with all the extra coating of white! Sure don't like shoveling snow - which we don't have to anymore - sure don't like driving or walking in this stuff and sure don't like when it all melts and slops all over! But - this too shall pass! Meanwhile we don't let snow stop us! Enjoy!
Nice pictures, Betsy! I'll have to admit---I'm feeling a bit like George does about the snow. We've had one snow after another (ten additional inches this time, with even more expected in the next couple of days). So I'm rather weary of it, but can still see its transforming beauty.
i like looking at YOUR snow, but am glad we are far away from it. we are waiting on our cold front but that is only 38 on friday and we are not happy with that. this has been a strange winter for the southeastern states. hope your little birds dont get to cold.
There is more snow (3-5 inches) in our forecast for this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. I love your header photo, the one of the cardinal in the snow.
Snow does make everything clean and fresh, until the thaw!! You can imagine with five dogs what I find when it thaws! I pick up religiously every day when I can but usually November till March or April, I can't pick up at all and that's a lot of poo!! I usually fill about forty bags come spring!
My hubby grills all year, no matter how much snow or how cold it gets. I think Canadians are famous for that!!
Good morning, Betsy! Just looking at the table out back on the patio here it looks like we got around 5-6 inches of snow. It's so bitterly cold with the wind blowing. Brrr! Wish I had a waterer for the birds like yours, the birds would love it as the pond is frozen over. They've really shown up this morning at the feeders. Stay safe and warm! ~Cheryl
I'm enjoying your snow photos and hope I won't be taking many of the same scene. So far, I think you've had more snow that we have. December was a snowy month but it came in manageable amounts.
Love those two sweet birds having a bite together!
Keep warm.
Best,
Bonnie
Dear Lisa,
I saw your comment on Lisa's blog and had to follow it back to yours...Bluebirds! I can't tell you how much I miss them. I have 4 bluebird boxes on my property. Last year we had problems with the sparrows attacking the nesting boxes, but the previous year we had at least 15 babies! You look like you live in a beautiful area...I live in Wisconsin.
It looks as if you have a beautiful place there in Fairfield Glade. Your yard is lovely. And you make me want to go out and get a dozen bird feeders and a heated bird bath.
We're supposed to get a few inches of snow today and tomorrow. We'll see. We sure haven't had much so far this winter.
I was hoping you would show us the birdbath with birds! Hooray - - - my wish was granted. Even though it seems like we are dealing with days and days of snow, we know it is minuscule compared to the entire year! So we should celebrate it as much as we can because God gave it to us!!!
Your snow along with another storm from the west is headed our way. I wish you hadn't sent it - haha!
I like the designs it makes on your pavers :)
☼ Sunny
We did get a lot of snow here in Chattanooga. School is closed for a second day. Looks like they plowed our road over night but it looks like it will freeze again tonight.
Very beautiful Betsy. We have a winter wonderland here this morning and it's still snowing. Suppose to get about 4-5 inches.
It does look so pretty though! We have our bird feeder full, but as it was 0F when I left for work this morning, I didn't even try to add water to the bird bath for them!
We woke up to snow this morning, but I haven't ventured out yet. Beautiful pictures as usual! Hope you all stay safe and warm.
It does look crisp and clean. Enjoy it all Betsy. {Poor George!}
Lovely! You got about the same amount of snow as we did here in central Arkansas.
I am seriously, seriously looking (online) for a heated bird bath. I presently have no way to keep water in a liquid form. It breaks my heart to see a Cardinal trying to chip ice!
Our yards look similar, my grill has a bit more. I have a chicken brining to grill this evening. That is the 1st trail I make and then continue to make a place for my dog to go. She almost caught a squirrel who could make it through the deep with its little legs. Luckily I called her back.
Oh! Betsy, your home looks so much like Scotland just now. We have had snow, snow and more snow for weeks and were snowed in over Xmas and New Year. I bet the birds love your heated water bath Keep warm and safe
The heated bird bath is a good idea! I, myself, am more than ready for the snow to melt, nothing wrong with golds and browns :-)
Hi Betsy, I think you indeed got a bit more snow than we did here on the lake. I just love the picture of the heated birdbath - good for you! The birds all thank you for that kindness! Have a super day & stay warm as more snow and sleet is coming today and tonight.
You are right is beautiful and traquil and cold and wet. The wet is really nice come spring. The cold gets rid of bugs or at least slows them down. But for us...its gets pretty old.

I think you're right about the calm and tranquility of snow. It's peaceful. You gotta' love it....unless you have to shovel it or drive in it. My husband hates it too. Your yard looks so nice. I would love to live in the woods/trees like that, especially with those pretty little birds everywhere. And it certainly is good that you can help them get their water. It is freezing here in Salt Lake too...down around zero degrees. I don't want to go out much, that's for sure. Stay warm and safe. See you tomorrow.
The snow is beautiful but I'm ready for warmer weather. Put a new header on blog reflecting such. LOL Stay warm
I bet you're in 7th Heaven! I love it. We have the same heated birdbath!
Betsy, I can sooo tell you're loving this! Well, also, George says so...:)
It all looks so lovely, especially if you can stay home and really enjoy it.
You must have at least three inches more than our area, and right now, we are having a snow/sleet falling, with cold winds, and more on the way, they say.
Love your heated bird bath, I must invest in one of those, instead of running out with gallons of fresh water :)
Stay warm !
hugs,
Jo

I can never see too many pictures of snow....I love them so much!
Now how does that bird bath keep from freezing? I want one....it is great!
When will this snow stop...and were are my daffodils? I am ready for spring in East Tennessee.
Of course my favorite pictures are the ones with George's wall, the designs the snow makes on it are just so pretty. I also love the sweet little feeders with the snow piled high on them. Are you going to knock it off? How interesting about the heater! So the water is still cold? Maybe birds can't tolerate real warm water, that might be bad for them. So best to have it like nature does.
I still cannot get over all of the snow that is falling so far south. I was really amazed that we even got some here in SoCal last week even though it only lasted for a few hours. Crazy weather everywhere.
Hope you went to my Hiking blog again to see another hike to another waterfall. Went to Placerita Falls yesterday.
Kay
We have NO snow at the moment, but your snow pics are wonderful
Betsy, these are beautiful snow pictures. You have lots more snow than we do. Ours is melting now and I'm going to miss it. I had fun yesterday feeding the birds and making pictures.
We got a little dusting of snow last night, but it's gone now! =(
Maybe next time!
Just makes me smile . .
Enjoy it while it lasts!
I hope it doesn't become a habit for you to have all that snow!
Wow, Betsy you did get a lot of snow there. I could be very happy if the big white stuff just keeps missing us. It seems like it is either to the south or the east and the north. It is fun to watch the birds at the feeders in the snow. Cute shot of the bluebird and goldie. Stay safe and warm.
You seem to be having more snow than we are! Good thing, because I know how much you love snow!
I like that heated bird bath. I also thought that you really heated the water. Thanks for setting me straight.
Love your bright red cardinal in the header - and all your bird pics for that matter.
Stay warm.
I agree with you about new fallen snow - it is a gift from God and I just love the peace and quiet! We did not get as much as you did, but enjoyed it nonetheless!
Betsy,
First off, I love all the pictures, especially the wall with the snow piled up on the individual blocks :) lovely!
Second; thank you so much for the great suggestions on the bird feeders. I am happy to report that I had my first bluebirds today, AND a pileated woodpecker and of course some finch and cardinals....I was so excited and of course, in my happiness, I didn't get my camera.
Oh well, there will be more opportunities! and yes, I love the snow since it gave us an added day off today. so it is Saturday school for us!
Hugs to you my dear!
Brrrr...Betsy!
I forget how cold it is when it snows but looking at your images brings back the chill real fast!
Brrr...come see me in the desert and warm up!
snowbirding naturegirl xo
You have almost as much snow as we do!
I agree, a fresh snowfall makes the earth look pure and renewed.
White everywhere! Love all the photos!!
You're not kidding those birds are cleaning us out, too. HaHa!
I love the snow for some of your reasons. It seems to bring a calm to the earth, especially at night. Prepares us for Springs rebirth. But, like you, we never get much snow. We're lucky to get one snow a year, usually it's just ice.
Thanks for your comments on my blog. Cancer has taken a lot of my family from me. I just cannot imagine someone having to lose a child to such a horrible, unmerciful disease. I assure you that she and her family greatly appreciate your prayers.
Big Hugs!
Your place is so beautiful all covered with snow! And you are so right: everything looks so serene and tranquil and clean! I especially like the unique snow pattern on the flower bed border! Pretty! And so are all your bird pics in previous posts!
Thanks for your kind comments; I am feeling much better - just staying in out of the extreme cold here. But no snow for us! :-(
I always thought the snow made things quiet and peaceful too Betsy. I'm glad you have just the right amount of snow to enjoy. :) Looks like your birds are happy too.
If I was a bird I would want to hop right into that heated birdbath with all that snow around. We have gotten snow, too and the birds are so hungry!
"as if God has dotted the earth with peace and tranquility..."
What a lovely sentiment Betsy.
It is so pretty, snow gives everything a clean, crisp look. Your little birdies are so lucky Betsy, they have covered feeders and fresh water.
Warm hugs,
Judy
Snow makes everything new again!
I love the snow and Your photos...
