Our yard is ablaze with color these days (Roses, Lilies, Daylilies, etc.). Even with the extreme heat which we are having, the flowers are doing really well... Today, I will share some of our beautiful Daylilies. The picture above is a variety which are blooming next to our garage. Aren't they pretty? Below are some more individual ones.
As much as I do NOT like the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team (since I'm a big Tennessee Vol fan)----I will admit that I do love the 'crimson' color of this Daylily. Its name appropriately is BAMA BOUND.
CUSTARD CANDY
BRIGHT SUNSET
FRED HAM (Don't you just love the texture in this Daylily?)
Finally, this beauty (don't you love the color) is named PRAIRIE BLUE EYES.
Hope you are enjoying the beauty around you too, wherever you are... It's still extremely HOT here --and it looks like this heat wave will continue all week.... Thank God for our Air Conditioned home!!!!
Hugs,

I absolutely love daylilies Betsy. Your photos are beautiful this morning. It's hard to choose a favorite but the Bright Sunset is so colorful and I'm sure you and George have enjoyed many such sunsets there at your lovely home.
Love your daylilies! I have lots of daylily plants moved from my mother's homeplace, but alas they do not like my shady yard, they come up every year with nice green leaves. Yours are so colorful!
Your Daylilies are gorgeous, Betsy! You did a wonderful job photographing these! There were lots of these at the house I moved from and I enjoyed them so much.
Gorgeous! I wish I had bothered to write down the names of mine!!!
Always impressed that you know yours by name. My poor flowers are lucky if I get the species right.
Over 100 degrees here several days all ready with no improvement in the 7 day forecast.
How did we use live with out A/C? Every time I walk in from outside, I send up a quick "Thank you".
My flower and veggie gardens are looking a little sad. This heat is terrible on them. I spend my time making sure the animals have cold fresh water to drink and not too much watering the gardens. But I can always come here and see your beautiful flowers!!
You live in a world surrounded by beauty, Betsy. What magnificent flowers and their colors are stunning.
Fabulous macro shots, my friend!
be well, be Happy ;)
Your lilies are lovely! Ours are still in tight bud. Nothing moving much in our garden.
I'm hoping you're making a slow but sure recovery. When do you see the surgeon again?
stunning flowers, colors and photography. are you using the macro on your new rebel? the detail is amazing. the lilies look like they are made from fire
Perhaps I will send some rain your way Betsy ~ we have plenty! Part of the TransCanada Highway has been washed away just West of us. Mother Nature has been showing us here strength! Luckily, no one has been physically hurt by the floods.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden with us friend!
xo Catherine
Thanks for sharing all your beautiful flowers. I don't have as many flowers as you all do but I try to stop each day to enjoy the flowers I have.
I like daylilies too. I am most familiar with the orange-colored daylilies. You have such a beautiful assortment of colors!
What more can I say, than Beautiful.I love Day Lilies, but have only a few plants. Our yard is so shaded that many flowers do not do very well.I guess we have to make a choice between the coolness of the shade or the flowers. Thanks for sharing your blooms with me.
How is your knee doing, and is the energy coming back yet?
Blessings,Ruth
Beautiful colors Betsy! Don't daylilies have the most interesting names?!?!?
So many beautiful colors....You must really enjoy them all!
Beautiful day lilies. It seems like everything is more colorful this year. It is still very cool here with not much sun but at least it is not raining right now. Or should I say YET!! Better than too hot. MB
Day lilies are SO gorgeous!
What gorgeous colors and textures. The deer love to chomp the heads of our daylilies!
You and George have the greenest thumbs!
Stay cool :)

I love that they tolerate the heat so well...my faves: BRIGHT SUNSET and PRAIRIE BLUE EYES.
The colors are so vivid.
I hope you are feeling better Betsy...Hugs, Suz
Love Daylilies and yours are gorgeous. Did I tell you? I put two roses in pots -- just because of your success with roses in pots!!!! It's all your fault. They're doing great!
Betsy I am craving for a salad when I saw "Fred Ham" hahahaha- !!! What a beautiful day to start with the colorful flowers around you.
Enjoy the rest of this wonderful day and hope the knee would get better and better and better!
Hugs,
Sey
Your daylilies are beautiful... I had no idea you could find them in shades of purple and crimson!
Such lovelies!
Betsy you have captured the centers beautifully in your closeups.
Stay cool if you can. It is hot here too.
Oh, how pretty. I love Bama Bound and I have Prairie Blue Eyes and love it too.
Marnie
I've never seen such beautiful, vibrant-colored lilies! I think the Prairie Blue Eyes is my favorite, but it's hard to pick one! Your photography skills are superb!
I had no idea those lilies came in such colors! The red one is so showy and love the name Custard Candy. I'm going to have to see if there are some like that at the garden shop. Beauty!
I have some yellow ones in my front yard. Wish I had all of these other pretty colors you have.
Look at the stamens in Bright Sunset, my word!! And Prairie Blue Eyes looks rather lavender, but still stunning. The stamens in these flowers fascinate me almost more than the petals. My favorite of these lilys may be the dark red one. But these pictures are amazing, this whole post is so wonderful just to keep scrolling and looking at! Tomorrow I'm posting flowers which have glitter sparkles from God.
I'm with you, Betsy. Much as I admire the other colors the Bama bound one is a glorious color then Prarie Blue Eyes is 2nd. Aren't daylilies just so great to grow??!! Hugs, Diane
What can I say Betsy, but they are beautiful.
How could you ever LEAVE?
Your lilies are so pretty....I need to plant some, I love them.
The heat is unreal....My husband does heat and air conditioning and I don't see how he survives going in an attic or on a roof. I worry so about him....He definitely deserves every penny he makes and then some!!
Glorious!! What beauties the lilies are. I love the names as well.
I would have a hard time picking a favorite of these. They are all so beautiful!
Just beautiful. We have a lot of ours blooming too. I look forward to seeing them every year. Oh it's hot! Yes. Hopefully Thursday a cool down as cloud cover and chance of rain will be here. Otherwise about 8 more weeks of hot heat.
Have a great evening.
Sonya
Wow! I love them all...now I know what the ones I have are... thanks. Trish
You daylilies are so vibrant! Mine are blooming too right now - love em! And I'm w/ you on the air conditioning! I have mine cranked up till fall - lol!!
Hugs,
Shelley
Just got Custard Candy last year at the Oakes Festival (have I told you it is this weekend?). I have Prairie Blue Eyes too. It is a real keeper. I also have a red one that is named Red Volunteer. Didn't know the volunteers were red though. :) Updated my list today and I now have 96 different varieties of daylilies. I am NOT going to the festival this year, afraid Jimmy might disown me.
hello Betsy, i am new here just followed your comment from Linda's. Yes i love your thoughts and your header, very cheerful and positive, wisdomful. Your collections of lilies are so beautiful, i only have amaryllis (orange) in my garden. BTW, you already feel hot with that temperature of 26C, i wonder what will happen to you when you experience our 38C, which we experience just this year. If you will visit my last post you will say condolence to most of our plants, and they are only the trees, meaning the annuals all died. I can see you have lots of friends because of the #s of comments. Count me in, thanks.
So many kinds and colors, Betsy! They are all so pretty.
Wow! Wow! Wow!! Such amazing colors. Ok - this time I have a favorite - the Prairie Blue Eyes. What lovely shade!
How are you coming along with your knee? Hope your week-end was great!
Hugs!
Ooooo, my favorite it the last one! The stamens and pistols coming out of the center in the photo are stunning!
I would love to see your yard one day. Thanks for your continuing concern for my son and I hope your knee is continuing to get better and painfree as well.Blessings to you Marilyn
I love day lilies and mine are just beginning to bloom but I don't have all the different colors.
Bama Bound and Bright Sunset are my favorites. Great macros Betsy, the details are fantastic.
Beautiful Daylillies! I have yellow and orange ones blooming in my garden now. It's 90 degrees and humid here today ..I'm already beat and ready for a nap...lol!
Betsy: Your Day Lily collection is precious.
