Beautiful Eastern Bluebirds
Now that our Bluebirds are coming to our feeders, I am having fun getting their photographs. While Mom is incubating her eggs, Dad Bluebird has been coming to the feeder for some raisins and other fruits. Above is Daddy Bluebird at the plate feeder. And below are several close-up pictures I took recently of Mr. Bluebird, along with a few more shots.
This one made me laugh.... He looks like he's getting ready to dive right in!!!!! Funny, isn't he????
The Birdbath is one of the popular places for our Bluebirds to relax. I loved this picture of Mr. Bluebird---showing his colors.
And I just couldn't leave out Mrs. Bluebird. She comes to the feeder also--when she is not sitting on her eggs. Her babies should be born this week!!!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
After the above pictures were taken, my sweet husband put in a 'clothes line' on the deck--so that I could hang my house feeder and my new plate feeder. Hopefully this will work better than the tables I had been using. I have also added another suet feeder to my line. AND---as you can see from the picture below, I can sit on my 'throne' (recliner) inside --and see EVERYTHING really well. That's where I also take many of my pictures.
This picture was taken from my throne--looking out on the deck. Besides my new clothes-line feeders, I have 3 hanging feeders above the doors. Two have sunflower seeds and the other has Nyjer Finch Blend. The smaller birds (Tufted Titmice, Chickadees, Nuthatches and all of my finches) love these small feeders. I also have a seed bell and a thistle sock along with my two suet feeders. The birds love me ---and I try NOT to feed the squirrels and chipmunks although they still manage to get their share!!!!!
Have a good Thursday. We're going to meet another new blogger friend for lunch today!!!! Can you guess who???????
Hugs,

Great blue bird pics Betsy! Have fun today!
No who? Love the photos with the bluebirdlooking down. Your throne? You know what I thought at first? LOL
The places we sit and watch do become like thrones. I have my office chair and window so that I can see out to my right and I can see most everything going on. I wish I had a floor to ceiling window but it is big as it is, just never big enough.
The Cardinals never brought their young here this year either. At least not yet. In fact they have been scarce as are most of the birds that we counted as ordinary last summer.
I never thought about feeding raisens and things like that. I have had no luch, so far, in getting a blue bird to land here.
Good morning Betsy, I love these bluebird pictures...I get so excited when I spot a few but haven't had much luck in attracting many...maybe next year...Have a great day...
Betsy, you sure mananged to get some close up shots of Mr.Bluebird.Like your feeders(ideas are cool).Lucky you meeting another blogger.Have a great day!
Shantana
Wow - what fantastic shots!! Have a great day!!
how exciting meeting up with blogger friends!
and what delightful colours on the bird :)
Great bluebird shots, Betsy! I like #6, too---so funny. I'm glad to know that Mama Bluebird got a chance to have some goodies, too.
I love you calling your recliner your "throne." I have a recliner throne, too. Trouble is, I can't get my loyal subjects to wait on me, Queen Eliza(Beth), like they should! :-)
Betsy,
I don't know what we are doing wrong but we just can't seem to attract bluebirds. We see them every now and then but they don't stick around.--Randy
Those are beautiful photos. Birds are so much fun to watch. Enjoy you day. Big hug.
Wonderful photos Betsy. Guess I need to break out my raisens so I can get some close ups.
Thoughtful George came to the rescue again. He is alway thinking isn't he.
what a perfect setting for birdwatching, have a great day with your blogger friend!
Hey Betsy, I've been wondering how your blue birds were doing. Love the pics! We had a male blue bird checking out our box again last evening. But I think I'm pretty sure they don't have more babies this time of the year.
Great bluebird pictures. Lucky you to be able to watch the birds in such regal comfort.
I love blue birds! Have a great lunch!
Mandy
You have done those beautiful bluebirds justice. And the lilies? Wow!!!
Love the beautiful bluebird photos....waiting anxiously to see the babies when you can get their pictures.
Such pretty birds, aren't they?
I hear so many different cries of birds out here but I cannot see them well as I don't have the proper tools to lure them out to watch but it's nice to listen to them... but for now, I will enjoy the pictures here...
Hope you are well... I am doing ok... hard to comment as much as I like to.
I miss that but I'm around enjoying the photos.
Hugs and kisses♥
I don't know what happened bu the birds just aren't coming to our feeders this year. Maybe it is that bobcat that has been hanging around or maybe a hawk that is not too far away ... I don't know.
What gorgeous photos! I hardly ever get to see a bb up close. I LOVE them!! The poor Mrs. looks a bit haggard! lol Enjoy your new friend!
Your bluebird photos are fab, Betsy. What a great little set up you have there.
Donna
Betsy - what a beautiful way you captured the colors of the beautiful bird. You have so many feeders so you attract so many varieties. I love it.
Bluebirds are my favorite little bird, they are so humble, and their clolors just lovely.
We have about three different bluebird houses full at the moment, but they are high out of my reach, so cats can't peek in...
Enjoy your lunch !
I guess you are not meeting me today since I am at home in my PJ's still.
All those birdfeeders and all the birds you have always make me think of one thing. The movie: The Birds.
I imagine they will get angry if you don't keep them full of food. ;0
Mr. Bluebird is gorgeous!
Hi Betsy - I just love your posing Bluebird - I think he knows how handsome he is! I can't wait for the babies to be born and see more photos. I need another hint on the blogger friend you're meeting today- are they a native of Tenn or passing thru? Either way - I'm jealous they get to spend time with you!! :-0 Have a great time!!!
Betsy.... Your bluebirds are so lovely, and at the risk of sounding like I am complaining (okay I guess I am), we never see them around here. The only time I can catch a glimpse of one is when we go camping up around Flagstaff....the Western Bluebird. I've never really gotten good pictures though because they've been so high up in the pine trees. We camp with several other families so they never seem to come very close! I just love your photos.....brings back memories of my childhood in South Carolina when there seemed to be an abundance of bluebirds every year! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through your photos today! :)

George is so sweet to place the feeders just right so you can make those great bird pictures! I can't wait to see who you get to meet!!!
You captured some marvelous bluebird poses and expressions. I love your new clothes-line feeders set up, so perfect for the birds and you.
Hi Betsy,
Beautiful close ups - You really got some great shots!
Have a great weekend
I love all the Bluebird pictures.
Blessings,Ruth
Hi Betsy! I found your blog today and love it. I am from Kentucky and also love my birds. I have purple martins for the first time this year and I just love them. We also have 4 bluebird houses and all 4 have been occupied this year. I look forward to reading more of your blog.
Wonderful pictures!!
I wonder if you have had a problem with the suet melting now the weather is warmer? I can't hang it in the summer because it melts and wondered if you had any tips???
Splendid photos!
I'm sure the birds do love you! They're getting an amazing supply of food.
Great photos of the bluebirds!
Just stunning close-ups!!
I have never seen a blue bird up close and would dearly love to. I guess we're to far south.
In the mean time I will enjoy yours, Betsy...
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a kind comment :D
Well darn!I take a few days off from blog-dom,and you post the bestest pictures ever!We have never had bluebirds in our yard.Just those dan]g blue jays!
Love your photos!
Aww what cute pics of your blue bird. Mine never stay around long enough to get a picture of. =)
Thanks for sharing the family album with us, Betsy! Nice that you support bluebirds with a feeder and boxes. There's been a lot of folks putting up bluebird boxes on fenceposts in this area the past ten years, and what a difference it has made.
Lovely bluebird photos. Great that you can sit inside and view them. I can in Rockwood, but not at home. We have new bluebird babies in Rockwood, should be flying soon. This time they are in the 2nd bluebird birdhouse we put up in Rockwood. Actually put it up hoping for the Brown Headed Nuthatches, but think they are some where else having their babies.
Hope you had a good time at lunch. Sure you will be posting about it.
They are just so cute. I have never seen one here on the West Coast.
Great photos as always.
No clue, who?
Hugs,
Judy
I hope you enjoyed your lunch and took pictures that you'll share.
The bluebirds are gorgeous.
These pictures are so close; it is as if these bluebirds are your pets! Fantastic. Right now we have mixed feelings about attracting birds because we have blueberry bushes!
Cute bird and cute picture... the one in which it is trying to dive is sure very funny!! I really enjoyed the content of your blog... Nice photos...
Those are wonderful bluebird pictures!
Those are absolutely amazing photos! I feel like I could just reach out and touch those Bluebirds!
You've got yourself extended families!! The birds are happy and so are you :)
Wonderful close-up shots of the bluebirds. I've been trying to figure out a place to put a box for them next year.
Betsy...the bluebirds are gorgeous. You are so lucky. They pass our yard on by. I love your new set up. I wonder if a clothes line would help deter our raccoons...
Wow, Betsy! You got some really great shots of the bluebirds. Such a pretty bird. :)
Great post!
Just LOVE the blue bird shots. Gorgeous.
