Touch of Class Rose--taken 6/4/14 |
It's hard to believe that it's JULY now... Do you like my new header and color scheme??? I love those Wild Horses Daylilies since the colors are so pretty.... Happy July to all of you!!!
I decided in May to do a "Favorite Roses Blog Post" each month this year, until all of the roses are gone by the end of Autumn... IF you missed the May rose choices, click
HERE. In that post, I decided to feature 10 of my favorite May roses--plus an extra one, which was special for another reason.
WELL--since I made my own rules, I guess it is okay to break them... Since JUNE was a HUGE month for Roses (I photographed 624 pictures of roses in June --which came from 54 different varieties), I decided to feature 15 this month instead of 10, plus one more special one. AND--choosing just 16 was HARD since these roses (being the first blooming rose groupings of the year) are some of the prettiest we have all season.
BUT--I did it (chose 15 instead of 10), so I hope you enjoy seeing them today! Be sure to click on the photos for enlargements. Sit back and enjoy the beauty... I only wish you could smell some of these beauties... We buy Hybrid Tea and Grandiflora Roses ---and try to buy the 'fragrant' ones when possible....

Ronald Reagan Rose -6/21/14 |
I need to tell you about Ronald Reagan Rose. This was one of my favorite roses all last year. Due to the severe winter we had this past year, this rose was struggling --and acted as if it were dying... George moved it to a container, gave it some of his special "George Love and Attention" ---and guess what???? Ronald Reagan has bounced back BIGTIME. What a beautiful rose!
|
Francis Meilland Rose -6/26/14 |
This beautiful Rose is one of our NEW ones this year. We saw it last year while visiting Biltmore Home and Gardens. We loved it there ---so we ordered it!!! Isn't it a beautiful rose?
|
Chicago Peace Rose -6/11/14 |
This was my FAVORITE rose of the month. This rose (like another one I featured in May--Peace Rose) stays beautiful for a long time --changing colors as it ages... Isn't this one pretty---with the raindrops on it?
|
Group of Love and Peace Roses -6/9/14 |
Finally, this is my extra one this month. I could easily have featured it individually---but wanted you to see how pretty it was showing it to you in a group. This little beauty has bloomed and bloomed this month.
Since Friday is the 4th of July, I will not blog that day... However,
let me take this time to tell you to enjoy the holiday ---and have a
wonderful weekend. God Bless America --and God Bless YOU....
Please take some time to read my new QUOTES on the sidebar this month... Some (or many) of them will speak to you I'll bet!!!!!
Hugs,

Oh Betsy you may change the rules anytime; it's for the better and I LOVED the blooms. I miss my roses from Kenya. None here, *sob/sniff* I love that George nursed Ronald Reagan back to health in time to bless your garden for summer. Have a great day and a great 4th July. Blessings, Jo xxx
I especially liked the sweetness rose and the Chicago one. It's hard to believe there are so many different varieties of roses and they're all so beautiful.
Your roses are beautiful! I am amazed at how many you have- I do well to keep one small bush alive!
Stunning Roses Betsy, and I always enjoy seeing them. The design of your blog is always beautifully designed and the sidebar is constantly enjoyed by me.

Hi Betsy I love seeing your selection of roses for each month and these are all beautiful. Ronald Reagan is very special especially as George revived him!
All your travel and you still have such a lovely garden!!
All of them are so pretty. It would be hard to pick a favorite. I've never seen Ronald Reagan looking so good though and who wouldn't love a rose called Love and Peace.
Happy 4th to you and George
My top five of these are: 5. soft whisper, 4. summer nts.,3.elle, 2.sweetness and #1 is (drumroll): Tahitian Sunset.
All of the 16 are gorgeous!
I'm looking forward to the 4th of July weekend. We'll have the grandkids overnight. :>) Addison wants to watch Airplane! She found it in a stack of Mike's old dvds. We'll save that for here and not the lake, so I can retreat.(I'm not a silly slapstick fan unless it's Red Skelton and he's in a class of his own! :>)
Enjoy your 4th!
Oh wow I had no earthly idea that there were so many different kinds of roses :) they're all so beautiful!
The last two are my favorites. Love the water droplets on the Chicago rose!! Wishing you and George a good 4th!!
Best,
Bonnie
Oh my, I am in heaven just smelling all those roses. Love all your new quotes for the month. The one about family sure hits home for me, as does "Keep the Faith". Have a wonderful 4th of July and God Bless America.
You have an incredible rose collection! George must have the magic touch. And a nice new header too - your blog is always so colourful. Have a great Memorial Day!
They are all beautiful!!
You are blessed to have so many different roses.
Enjoy them and the rest of your week and have a lovely 4th of July.

They all are so beautiful I can't pick a favorite. You and that sweet hubby of yours both have HUGE GREEN THUMBS. Your flowers are always A one.
You have 54 varieties of rose? That's amazing! They're all beautiful and I can just imagine the fragrance around your yard as our garden is full of blooming roses at the moment and I love the few varieties that we grow.
Soft whisper caught my eye. I could almost smell these, the first thing I do when I see a pretty rose.
One can get spoiled by good coffee. I grind my beans and have a small metal pot to take camping.I get my best beans from a Chrstian bookstore called the Santuary in Pella Iowa.
You have a beautiful collection of roses for this post. I really like the quotes on your sidebar as well.
Hello Betsy..Happy Summer! Lovely photos of these beautiful flowers. Beautiful colors. I hope you also enjoy your 4th of July holiday. Hugs!
Oh my dear Betsy ~ The quote on the sidebar for a few of us widows, really touched my heart and had the tears flowing.
Thank you for thinking of us.

I do love the Dolly Parton rose the best. Favorite color.
I should have followed Georges TLC approach for my few roses took a real beating this past winter. Huge slabs of ice sliding off the roof and hitting them really stunted them.
Such beautiful roses. It's hard to choose a favorite, isn't it? The Tahitian Sunset is very pretty and the Elle, too. Love them all.
You have a beautiful selection of roses there, my fav is the Milestone Rose, love that deep red colour.
Enjoy your day!
Oh my what beautiful roses. It is hard to believe you have so so many. Thanks for showing this selection.
Also thanks for remembering my Mother.
Have a wonderful weekend. MB
Your roses are so magnificent--how could you even pick a favorite?
Due to having sewers up in this spring, we needed to do some landscaping in our backyard and planted some of the Knockout variety, which actually seem to be growing and blooming (nothing compared to yours). I did plant one of them in a container, which is growing the best of all. My question is: How do you winter the roses you have in containers? Do you bring them in your garage? Do you water them? Do you cover them? Whatever you do, you seem to be very successful.
Thanks for any information you might share. Have a great day!
the tathian sunrise is my favorite.. those colors are amazing.
Such gorgeous, incredible roses, Betsy!! And such beautiful colors! How delightful to be surrounded by those!! Thanks for sharing the beauty! A great way to start my day!! Hope your week is going well!
My favorite is the long stem yellow. Have a great holiday.
Oh my! Roses are my all time favourite flowers and each of these is a winner in my eyes.I am glad you take lots of pictures,in this way the flowers last all year and then live on forever in the pictures.
i love your header shot for the month of July. so cool!! ( :
moonstone rose & milestone rose are my favs. gorgeous!!
Moonstone & Tahitian Sunset! The Tahitian one has been my favorite every year I think!! Your header is gorgeous, and why on earth do they have this name? Betsy, I hope you have a wonderful Fourth and that George snaps some fireworks!
The Moonstone rose gets my vote! Although, they are all beautiful! I think I can even smell them. Heavenly!

They are all so perfect. Are the aphids not allowed in your garden?
Betsy, gorgeous images and beautiful roses. Happy 4th of July!
Hi Betsy!
You do have such a beautiful selection of roses, I didn't know there was a Dolly Parton rose, it's as beautiful and vibrant as Dolly herself! I read your quotes and they really are inspirational - and I hope you and George have a wonderful 4th of July! x x x
The Moonstone and Tahitian Sunset are my favs. They're all gorgeous.
Happy 4th!
Lovely, lovely, lovely. They are truly a labor of love. Beautiful roses don't just happen.
Oh, Betsy...they are so beautiful. I could not pick just one favorite one...they are all just so lovely.
They are all so beautiful, Betsy. I can see why you would have a hard time choosing which ones to feature. George must have the magic touch!

Wow! Never seen such beautiful roses.
Your daylily header is spectacular! Happy 4th of July!
Betsy, i almost already know where those roses are planted in relation to your house. Whatever they look like, roses are always roses and whatever they signify. By the way, you should see my other blog to see my personal favorites, plants in my own garden.
Your roses are amazing, just gorgeous! Such a wonderful variety. I can't pick a favorite place yet from our vacation. I thought about it a lot and am still trying to decide :). Happy 4th of July to you and George Betsy,
Oh Betsy! I can never say which one is my favorite, because they all are! Yes, that Francis Meilland rose is special, though. And I just love them all and am so happy you have them in your yard! Glad the dying one "came back."
Glad you had an awesome trip! Can't wait to see your photos!
