Beautiful Mountain Creek |
Hope you enjoy the photos. Click on them for enlargements.
George is taking some photos of the water with his special lens. |
I can't take good photos of the water like George can, but this one is kinda pretty! |
Our road along the way; See our car? We park and hike down to the water for photos and enjoyment of the sounds and beauty all around us! |
This is what I do when George is taking photos with his tripod. The area is just so peaceful --even though it was quite cold that day. |
Oh --how much beauty is everywhere!!! I love seeing the moss growing on the rocks. |
There's my Cutie Pie---getting up higher for more good photos. |
I am always fascinated by the mushrooms and lichen growing on the trees in the Smokies. |
Out came the toboggan---as it got colder and colder up there... |
The farther UP in the mountains we traveled, guess what we saw????? SNOW!!!! |
Think these Daffodils will make it????? They are sprouting a little early!!!!! Brrrrrr... |
Finally, we always just 'have' to get a picture of the two of us together enjoying the Smokies!!! |
Have a great Monday ---and I'll see you on Wednesday!
Hugs,
|

The water looks rough. I don't think I dare to stand so near to it.
Better late than never! Those daffodils, with the perfect little holes around them, must be putting off their own warmth as they are growing through the snow!
What a beautiful area for walking. The peace and the cold comes across in your photos.
That is such a beautiful area for a hike. Nothing better than having the place to yourself - my favorite way to enjoy nature.
Another wonderful series of photos. You're lucky to live close to such wonderful areas.
Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures. That was a wonderful visit to one of our favorite places. We need to go there again.
Greenbrier is one of our favorite areas, too. You got some great shots that capture the beauty and peacefulness of it.
Gorgeous!
Thanks for taking me along with you, Betsy.
What a great trip! Lovely shots. And I hope spring is finally coming to you.
Betsy, Love the moss covered rocks. We have moss instead of grass along one side of our house...and we hope that it continues to spread! It's like a green blanket. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Always enjoyed the daffodils there. I have some coming up as well as tulips.
So much beauty -- even in the cold!! Wonderful captures as always, and as always, so great to share the beauty and the fun with you and George! Have a terrific new week!!
I love the Moss Rock!

Beautiful photos.
We had 4 inches of snow yesterday and my daffodils like just like the ones pictures sticking out of the snow.
What a cool place for hiking and picture taking.
Hard to beat a pretty day, gorgeous day and your man.
The pictures are beautiful, even though you look a little cold in some of them.

You are a vision in blue! And the next best thing here is that huge moss covered rock, loving that.
I love that first picture. I could spend some quality time right there. You do find the best spots.
Hi Betsy...I most definitely have enjoyed seeing all of your adventures this past month... You have posted some splendid photos of such gorgeous water Falls. Water is so peaceful and I love seeing the rivers with the water running across the rocks...

Mushrooms and lichens fascinate me too. Lovely trip. You look darling in that taboggon with your rosy cheeks and nose!:>)
Beautiful. You and George visit the most beautiful places. Thanks for sharing them with us.
My favorite pics - - even though you didn't ask for a vote - - - the pic you got of George really intent with the tripod - - - the one of you that is just below the pic of your car. It's one of the top ten best photos of you - - - and of course, the pic of you and George together. Those are always excellent.
That is such a beautiful area any time of the year. I always love listening to the rushing waters. A few weeks ago our daffodils looked just like those when we got a late snowfall. Now they are in bloom and are so pretty.
Thank you for sharing these fantastic viewd with us. The water looks cool but the pictures are really great. And you got to see some snow. Have a great day
I loved that you posted it months later. The Smolies are a place I much enjoyed during my several trips there.
Hi Betsy,
Your first photo is awesome..and the "kinda pretty" photo is beautiful..if I were to take it I'd spoil it.. ;-)
Seeing all the pictures from both yours and George's blog make me wish that I could follow your adventures.
But of course I have to be fit first..hehe..
Have a great week!
:-)
HI Betsy Looks like a great trip. Love all the water shots and of course lovely to see you and George enjoying yourself.
I can just imagine the peace and quiet in those woods and also the cold. I don't suppose you sat about for long! I like the shot of the track with the tall trees either side.
I enjoy seeing the waterfalls, moss and mushrooms are so pretty. Yall are brave to go in the winter to the Smokies!
love those mushrooms and the daffodils in the ice
I just love this post, Betsy!
You are so lovely, and so HAPPY - I love it- and this is my favorite kind of place. Mushrooms & lichen & moving water are some of my favorite things.
I smile, because Mitch & I are similar but the opposite of you & George: He waits patiently (or climbs around off trail places) while I take photos. :)
Still awfully wintry here - but we look forward to spring, it'll come some day!
Nice nature, beautiful pictures
Beautiful pictures -- as always! So enjoy my visits to the Smokies with you and George.
Your pictures are lovely, Betsy. You two always look so happy. Sounds like you had a fun visit here.
I do know this beautiful area. Peaceful is the right word. These pics make me want to schedule a visit soon. I actually have some daffodils that will bloom any day. Your snow pics are lovely but I sure enjoyed our 74 degree weather today. :)
I visited the Smokey Mountains one summer --they were so beautiful to drive through! I remember we stopped in Cherokee. George does take wonderful water photos!
