My Backyard Birds

Eastern Bluebird
Here are some more pictures of some of my hungry little Backyard Birds --taken during January/February.   Even though we haven't had a harsh winter this year,  the birds still come to the feeders constantly.   I am so glad that I can feed them, especially this time of year.   Above is an all-time favorite,  one of our little Eastern Bluebirds.   Be sure and click on the pictures to see them larger.

Downy Woodpecker

White-Breasted Nuthatch

Female Northern Cardinal

Gray Catbird

Tufted Titmouse

Eastern Bluebirds
This one is a little fuzzy (through a window and screen) --but I loved watching the male and female Bluebirds check out the nestbox.    It's a little early for them to be nesting yet--but they certainly did check it out!!!!!

Pileated Woodpecker
Finally,  I always have to show a picture of another favorite,  one of our Pileated Woodpeckers..  Isn't he a beauty????

Hope you had a great weekend.   I hope also that you enjoyed seeing more of some of my wonderful Backyard Birds...

Hugs,
Betsy

Birds are beautiful creatures with no idea what a blessing they are. I like Woody Woodpecker with the red hair.. he is so funny. I used to wonder how his head didn't ache from all of that pecking.

Lovely pictures of gorgeous birds!

Since we've moved we now have a HUGE flock of snow buntings probably 200 plus. They are from the high Arctic and they overwinter here which can't be much better!!

Love your bird pictures. I don't have the bluebirds but I do have the other ones. I can't believe how -like you said- with the mild winter we are having the birds are eating me out of house and home. I do enjoy watching them tho.

The bluebirds are always a favorite of mine, but I always get excited when a pileated shows up. Very impressive birds!
Question Betsy. I took out my word verification (I don't like them either) but started getting spam comments right away. How do you stop that? Thank you...Pearl

YEAH, your birds! My favorite is the first one of the bluebird, that really ought to be framed and put somewhere. The catbirds are usually so sleek, yours is all puffed up, he must be cold!

I love your backyard birds! I keep hearing a woodpecker--I just can't find him!

Carletta said...

Watching and feeding the birds is certainly something we have in common Betsy. Their little antics make my day. When I walk out of my bedroom each morning my feeders are the first thing I look out.
We have a bluebird in their box already as well and I'm pretty sure a pileated has been hammmering away the past two mornings but I haven't spotted him yet.
Lovely shots!
