2010 Rose--Part VII

Most of you know (unless you are fairly new) that George and I grow ROSES (Hybrid-Tea and Grandiflora). I should say that George grows Roses --since he is the one who loves them and cares for them--about 55 different varieties... I just ENJOY them... He spoils me by bringing a new Rose bud or bloom into the house most every single day just for me to enjoy.

I have published six blog posts so far showing pictures of our Roses. You can check out the other posts by looking at the sidebar, scrolling down to labels, and then clicking on ROSES 2010.Today I'm sharing 6 more of our beauties with you.

The neat thing about Roses is that they will bloom from early spring until late Fall. YES--they do take alot of work and upkeep, but this is one of George's hobbies --and he does an excellent job.

Above is one called MEDALLION. I love that apricot color. Below are more.

WELCOME HOME

SUMMER OF LOVE (my favorite in today's collection, although they are all beautiful)

We have our first reblooming Daylily in bloom now--just in time for Fall. I'm sure I'll publish pictures of our Fall Daylilies sometime. Love it when we get rebloomers...

Hope those of you on the East Coast don't get the brunt of Hurricane Earl. My prayers are with you all... We need rain--but not from a hurricane!!!!

Have a blessed Wednesday --and remember to take time to 'smell the roses'.
Hugs,

I've enjoyed your roses for two years now, such elegance and beauty.
Being English, I think we are born with the appreciation of rose-growing, as you know, the English climate lends itself to the perfect conditions of growing roses.
George amazes me with his roses, they are not easy to grow in our HOT southern summers.
Simply gorgeous.

my today favorite is the Tahitian, the color is divine. the header is wonderful and shows WHY they call it mirror lake. great shot of the lake. your camera appears to be set on flower seek also , just like mine.

They're all beautiful. I didn't know there are many other names of Roses, especially that one called Ingrid Bergman. Nice to know such info even though they're trivial. Addiditional knowledge to garden dummies.

Beautiful! I am not usually a big rose fan, but I love to see them growing in gardens. I'm also partial to the non red roses, so my eyes were drawn to the apricot, pink, and yellow varieties. George must have a gift to grow so many different kinds and have these gorgeous results! Give him a peck on the cheek from me! ;-)

Such beautiful roses and I love that your hubby cuts one for you every day. What a guy! My roses unfortunately are not doing well at all this year. It makes me sad. It's been much to hot and dry. I pray the people in Hurricane areas will be safe.

Summer of Love and Welcome Home for me!!! The colors are so beautiful that I could eat them!! I never thought about how long roses bloom! Yesterday or the day before, you changed your header to the beautiful reflection lake, and it was, and is, so beautiful, I was rather stunned! Adding to the beautiful reflections is the fountain toward the back, as well! But your posts are so good and so engrossing, that by the time I had finished reading it, I had forgotten all about the header!! And had wanted to tell you how pretty it is and how I love to see new headers from you.

Thye are all beautiful roses, Betsy!

I am hoping and praying the hurricane goes off to sea. They are already evacuating some people from the islands off Long Island. We are close enough to the water to worry about flooding :(

Betsy, these are gorgeous macro shots. I love them. They make me happy. I will never get tired of flowers. Am taking advantage of the last few days of summer so I will take more photos of flowers that are still around before they wither.
