I'm continuing with yesterday's post talking about our little trip to the Tellico River area (near Tellico Plains, TN) on June 16. It was only 2 weeks since I had had my knee surgery---so I was just along for the ride!!!! But--it was a beautiful ride.
The picture above is a picture of Bald River Falls, which can be seen from the Tellico River Road. (The last picture in yesterday's blog was a picture of me standing on the bridge in front of Bald River Falls. )
George decided to take a .6 of a mile hike above Bald River Falls (while I sat and admired the Tellico River and also Bald River Falls... Bald River connects with the Tellico River here --and it is a beautiful place to sit and relax. Anyhow--George took this short hike and found NOT one, NOT two, but FOUR new waterfalls (5 total counting Bald River Falls) up that trail. He took the Bald River Trail #88 to see these beauties... I can't wait until I am healthy enough to make this hike. It's short but STEEP. Below are the pictures of what he found up that trail.
This is the brink of Bald River Falls... GOSH---I hope nobody ever tries to walk across the top of that waterfall. It's a long way to the bottom (as you can tell by looking at the top picture).
This is Kahuna Falls. This is the first one above Bald River Falls.
Isn't this a gorgeous area???? (I wanna see it... Whine Whine!!!) This next waterfall after Kahuna is called the Bald River Cascades... Wow!!!
This one is named Suislide Falls... I guess it would definitely be 'suicide' if you tried to slide down that waterfall. Yipes!!!!
Finally, the fifth waterfall on Bald River is named Shallow Falls... IF you are ever in the Tellico area, we recommend all of the waterfalls in that area... George was THRILLED to see some new waterfalls that day --and I just enjoyed the ride.
+++++++++++++
Blogger Tip #3: Don't put too many pictures on each post; I previously posted about 12 pictures on each post--but have changed it to 6. I have noticed that people will take time to look at a blog IF it is not too long. Otherwise, they just scan it. Hope this helps!!! (Remember ---these are just MY ideas after being a blogger since 2006. AND--I also need your tips!! Thanks!)
Hugs,

Beautiful river and cascading falls.
Thank you for sharing Betsy.
Enjoy the rest of the week.
xo
Betsy, if I had all the money in the world, I would buy you your very own waterfall for your backyard! Enjoyed the pictures and the tip. You are right - short posts are usually best! I did a study on blogging in traumatic brain injury - will have some of the results posted soon, I hope!

Tell George great shots. I was a scout leader way back in my 20's and we did a overnight hike that started at the falls and went upstream quite a ways. As I recall it was a pretty special walk - of course the boys didn't much care.
So many falls in the one area. George's photos are great. I loved the cascades. It must have been frustrating not being able to go with him.
How delightful that George explored a little and discovered these gorgeous falls ~ I hope by the time our weather cools off that you can join him on a hike.
I can almost hear the water rushing over the rocks and the mist spraying my face...nice.
Would love to do a bath in that water, now we have 31 °, it is very hot
I got dizzy standing on the edge of the falls with George. they are wonderful, hope you soon will be up there with him.
Betsy: I love the first falls photo, how neat.
I hope that you are able to make this trip one day soon. It looks like it would be a good hike for in the fall.
It is hard to imagine you could see that many different waterfalls in such a short distance....and all of them exceptional!
Didn't know you had an operation. So glad you are fine.
Loving your Blog Tips!!!! Keep 'em up, please.
Btw, I am not really *here*. I'm not on the Net for a few days, due to bad back and "doctoring." But I wanted to post this comment!!!
But! I'm *not* really doing this. -giggggles-
These new falls are as pretty as can be.I hope you will soon be able to get out there and enjoy them in person.God has created so much beauty for our enjoyment.
Blessings,Ruth
More beautiful pictures.. I agree with your tip. I tend to post no family pictures and then way to many in one post. I realize just how long that can take to load on some computers.
Oh what beautiful and wonderful Falls. You will be out there soon--have patience. LOL
I agree with your tip. MB
Absolutely beautiful!
You are right, too many photos is just that--too many. I had nine on my last post but they were so diverse, thought I might get away with it. The limited photos really doesn't apply to the folks that only blog once a week or less. I usually take my time and savor the infrequent bloggers posts.

Whine away Betsy!!!
This is a beautiful area...I can't wait for YOU to hike it as well.

Beautiful shots, Betsy! Thanks for dropping by on my blog, as well. ;)
I love these gorgeous shots you took at the falls. It's been years since I've seen beautiful waterfalls, and your shots just take my breath away. I feel like I'm actually there looking at them! ;)
I agree with your tip #3 about pictures on posts. Too many pictures might take time to load on slow browsers and connections, and they may even turn potential readers away. I like to keep mine around 4, but no more than 5. 6 is a good number, and I love the fact that your pictures are big and clear!
Have a wonderful day!
Very VERY beautiful river. And the photographs are outstanding. They are worthy of publishing. I want to go too! Thank your hubby for taking us along.
I can see a beautiful 'coffee table' book illustrated with all the wonderful waterfalls that you discover :)

Beautiful Betsy...I know it wasn't but it looked so cool!!!
Such breath-taking beauty! I especially like the sunlight that pops into the scenes.
Hi Betsy,
I love that new wallpaper on your blog!
I still cannot get over how many waterfalls you have visited.
It's amazing how many waterfalls you have in your country. Each different and unique. At least George had his camera so you could still see them. Diane
Oh my, whine, whine, I wish I was there, too! These are so beautiful.
As for tips, I totally agree with the previous ones you have listed as well as today's tip. This is one thing I don't like and that is a lot of clutter on the sidebar. I like to be able to find the persons profile, their other blogs, the archives, and the labels. I don't mind if someone has the temp, or one or two other things, but I get very frustrated when I can't find what I want to find.
I agree with Sunny, you should get all these lovely photos in a book. Hope it won't be too long before you go on those hikes. I find the tips interesting, thanks Betsy.

Right now I don't have the chance to travel. It is so much fun to see the water falls that you find. :) Thanks for sharing.
Good morning!
Wonderful photos!
Beautiful place!
Jane has a point. Why not have George build you a water feature in your yard? Of course by the time he finished you will be ready to hit the trails yourself.
At least he took a lot of pictures. That had to help.
Very beautiful waterfalls! I know George was excited to find them! So glad he had a camera with him! And I thought all the time that he went along just 'cause YOU wanted to go:-)
Gorgeous! And refreshing to look at.
My son lives in Smyrna and enjoys finding new spots to visit; I'll pass this post along to him.
Beautiful photos! I need to hit the road. I'm thinking of going to KY for a reunion at the end of the month...We don't have that kind of scenery where I live now....very nice Betsy...
I do love the cascades, they are not as sacry to look at! And these are just beautiful, I know you can't wait to go back! I am enjoying your tips, too!! That's a good idea!
Betsy I know this was hard on you not being able to see all these new waterfalls....praying that by this time next year you will be able to go back and see them....I wouln't mind seeing them myself... I like the great tips you are giving us. God Bless Trish
Very nice falls Betsy, and I agree with you on how many pics that are posted.
I read somewhere that the most popular blogs take one minute to look at and read. I guess I will never be popular...lol! Oh well, I like to take photos and tell a story about them. As summer progresses I may cut back a bit just to get out more.
The waterfalls George found are so beautiful! It does look rather steep there.
♥ Pat
i love the water falls!
They are fantastic waterfalls and I love the water action in your photographs, Betsy. It looks very inviting but I bet the water is cold as can be.
I think if the topic is something a reader is interested in, the length probably doesn't really matter. I know that I enjoy "all" of your pictures and descriptions of the falls.....and other topics too!!
Beautiful pictures Betsy. :) Your blog always makes me smile.
Definitely a favorite area of the country for me! We roamed the hills around western North Carolina, GA, and Tennesse when I was a kid visiting family. Your pictures make me think of really happy times! Beautiful. Thanks!
I love how these falls all kinda have those ledges cascading downward! Are'nt they just the prettiest things??? I can't wait to get back to all of the lovely falls in Georgia, Tenneessee, and the Carolinas!
Beautiful! I want to see for real too. :)
I was hoping to get to Tennessee this summer but things have come up and I don't think it's going to happen so I'm enjoying seeing the best with you.
Wonderful waterfalls and photos captured them beautifully..

Awesome picures. Waterfalling sounds like a lot of fun. If I could make a living doing this, I certainly would. Have a great wek.

Beautiful country. I really like your dark blue background too and the blogging tips. I played around with mine today and changed it a lot. I hope everyone likes it.
Tremendus pictures, on this post and on your previous one. And I'm happy to learn about the hike George found - my family's cabin is not far from the NC end of the Cherohala Skyway, so we'll have to make a day trip over to Tellico and try that hike while we're at it.
