Sun's Rays on the Ocean

On May 5, after getting back to our room from having dinner at the Boundary House, we sat on the balcony and watched the sun's rays hit the ocean --as it began to set in the west. Today I'll show you some of what we saw that evening ---and the next morning. The picture above is looking down the beach to the right. Isn't everything just gorgeous this time of evening? More pictures are below! You can thank George for taking ALL of these gorgeous pictures.

One of the Casino Boats is heading out to sea for their Sunset Cruise. They have to get 3 miles out in order for people to gamble.

The water looks so blue with the sun shining on it. This is looking straight ahead from our room. (If you have missed any of our other Ocean Isle Beach trip pictures recently, you can look on my sidebar and find the label which says OCEAN ISLE 2010.)

I love the way the sun is reflecting off of the fishing pier in this picture. This is to the left of our balcony.

Then, we got to see those gorgeous pink clouds in the distance --over the water. Awesome, don't you think?

AND THEN------------------ this is early the next morning when we woke up. What did we see????? FOG..... Isn't life interesting staying on the beach? One can see all kinds of things (sunshine, rain, fog, rainbows, clouds, etc.).... LOVE IT!!!!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,

Your pics are lovely! That's probably the only thing I miss being away from England is the ocean.
I would love to be walking on that lovely beach in your pictures, right about now!!
How come the beach is so empty?

I've never seen fog on a beach. But my favorite picture here is the edge of the sand that's sun dappled, with the sunny peir. Two spectacular thing in one picture.

George did a wonderful job capturing all the different moods of the beach.
Looks like a great view anytime of day.

You are really making me homesick for Florida. What amazes me is how the beaches are so empty. You had them totally to yourselves. How wonderful.
I don't remember seeing fog on the beach. Just so peaceful.

How wonderful that you got to have a vacation at the beach! I love the ever-changing moods of the ocean. I could be entertained by just watching from a balcony!

It has suddenly gotten so hot here. That beach looks wonderful. Wish I could spend even just a couple hours there.

After living in south Florida for years and then moving to Tn., I never looked back. Never missed it.

It is a very different lifestyle down there. J and I did most of our dating days going to the beach! What can be better than FREE! Swimming, talking, laying in the hot sun, in silence! The beach always reminds me of the early days of our relationship :)

Yet, I never missed the beach after moving here. Until recently.

Your beach pics confirmed it. We need a trip to the beach!!! And a babysitter for 5 horses, 3 dogs, and a herd of cats!

Thanks for another glimpse into your life, Betsy. And tell George,
great job on those wonderful pictures :)

Beautiful beach scenes, both sun and fog. I love watching the ocean's moods, just as I love watching the sky change over the mountains.

Excellent pictures, Betsy. The blues of the water are gorgeous. Our ocean beaches have fog lots of times. Kinda mysterious. MB

Fantastic photos of the sand dunes beneath your balcony, Betsy. My favorite is the foggy scene you woke up to, it looks so mysterious.

George's photos are beautiful. One of the things I love so much about the ocean is that it is always changing. The sun can be shining brightly and an hour later it's so foggy you can't see two in front of you. Your post is really making me miss the ocean.

Hi! Actually, I'm just new in browsing your blogs. Just saw it's link from my friend's blog site. I could see your positiveness and I love it. I wish I could write one like yours but I have to admit I don't have the talent. So I would just stick on reading your posts. Thanks for the beautiful posts!!!
