Spring Flowers in Winter
I don't know about you but I just feel the need to look at some Spring Flowers today... Maybe it is because we have had such frigid temperatures here on the Cumberland Plateau for over a week now... As much as I love winter and SNOW, right now I just want to think about the season-to-come!!!!
All of these pictures were taken in 2009 and are flowers in our yard. Hope you enjoy this 'taste' of Spring on a cold winter day!!!! The picture above is of one of our beautiful Daffodils, named Fortissimo. Below are more!
Broadway Lily
Cable Car Iris
Mardi Gras Tulip
Custard Candy Daylily
Orange Tiger Lily
Replete Double Daffodil
Hush Little Baby Daylily
Electric Shock Iris
Red Dynasty Tulip
Now---do you feel warmer???? Does it feel as if Spring is just around the corner???? Well---it IS------- after a few more months of winter!!!! Sigh!
Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,

all so pretty!
Beautiful, Betsy!☺
You certainly brought thoughts of spring to my mind. the daffodils are beautiful. My mother loved Jonquils and they were all over her yard in the spring. the daffodils are very similar. thanks for sharing
Thanks for taking me away from the four degrees that I see on my thermometer...hoping that these frigid days gets rid of some of the insects we had last summer...have a wonderful Sunday!!!
Gee your post smelled so nice today.
What a great splash of color on this 18 degree morning!
Loved seeing your spring flowers, Betsy! Happy Sunday to you! :)
Thanks for reminding us that there will be spring again!
I normally enjoy winter - but not this year!
Thank you for the bright splashes of color.
Oh Betsy, I still can't get over the splendid nature that surrounds you. If love is a many splendored thing then you are it.
Looks as if ev1 has the snowblues.
Super warm post Betsy.
A lovely respite from all the snow and cold.
Enjoy your Sunday.
Sunny :)
Nice pretty pictures. It makes one want to poke Mother Nature and tell her to :HURRY UP". Nice shots. I have some Crocus poking their new shoots up out of the ground. MB
Each of the flowers are beautiful.I do think that the Irises are my favorites.
Trouble is ,now you have me longing for spring even more.Oh well, soon.
Blessings,Ruth
Your pictures are so pretty but to me spring means mud, black flies and mosquitos. Not pretty but a fact of life in the northern bush. Spring is my least favourite season.
My first being fall followed by our beautiful cold, snowy winters!!
It's so hard not to try to pick a favorite and so hard to try. All beautiful, Betsy, they remind us what we have to look forward to. Thanks for your beautiful pictures.
I am ready for spring also!
I love Daffodils, they are the first flower we have to bloom. Then I know spring is on its way! and it is about the only flower I haven't killed.lol No green thumbs here! But I have your flowers to look at and it isn't half the work ;-)
Have a great day!
Becky
Beautiful flowers...love all the bright colors!
What a treat to see spring flowers in January. Today I like Hush Little Baby Daylily and Electric Shock Iris. Your sure have pretty flowers with fun names. :)
Ah, thanks for a touch of spring. I needed that!
Loved the flowers but couldn't'help fut think that spring also brings a ton of work to foster those beautiful things.
As I looked at the snow this AM I couldn't help but think that my yard needed NOTHING. Ahh, I'll enjoy winter a while longer I guess and settle for beautiful pictures of the future.
Seed catalogues are all ready coming.
Great colours on a winter day. It's true, everyone starts dreaming of spring right about now, longing, just itching to get back in the garden, seed magazines etc strewn about. Ha!
Although I do not feel warmer, I do appreciate seeing those beautiful blooms again, Betsy.
Oh Betsy you made my day with this post and the gorgeous flowers. And I smile every time I see the adorable header. Thanks for making it a little cheerier here in cold Maine! Have a wonderful week!
Betsy: Great show and a fun look at your beautiful flowers.
Simply stunning!!! Can't wait to see my Daffs!!!
You have so many pretty flowers....that Mardi Gras tulip is very neat!
Hello Betsy,
Oh, thank you!! Just what I needed...I've still got snow covering the lane to the house..The sun is shining but it's still low 30's right now..I really wanted to get out tomorrow..but maybe NOT!
Did you notice the cheery flowers I put along the brick path in my collage?...it made me feel better just doing it!
Stay warm,
Steph
Nice one Betsy, just what we need, we are still in the grip of ice and snow, it's been over three weeks now. Brrrrr!
Woooohoooo! Spring is coming! Less then 60 days! Our temp is higher than yours today - +4! That's unusual for us in January! The days are visibly getting longer. Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Your beautiful flowers do brighten up another dreary day. I shouldn't complain It is 50 degrees here, but no sun.No snow either just dark and cloudy.
I am feeling better now that I have gone back to my strenth training so I get out of the house three days a week.
Thank you for your kind words they really helped.
~~Hugs~~
Betsy, I found a great waterfall post for you to visit..a little too far to visit personally but beautiful...

All those flowers from last year were so glorious! But we have LOTS more winter to endure here before any of my tulips start popping out. ha
these are very lovely bloom, really brings heaven and paradise just looking at them
Wow, I had to take off my sweatshirt and turn on the fan... Seriously though they did warm up my soul and make me smile!! Love and Light, Nina P
Wow! That was refreshing after seeing so much snow and cold weather!!! I'm longing for spring myself, and we have at least two more months of winter!
What a delightful array of colorful Spring flowers to brighten the day! I must have been reading your mind because I shared an array of colorful flowers at Small Reflections growing right now here in Southern California.
Hugs and blessings,
Thank you for this beautiful bouquet of a post. I needed to see this. It's still cold here.
♥ Joy
Oh yes, thanks for a bit of color on this dreary day. Georgous, colorful flowers!! I am definitly ready for spring.
This is a beautiful way to beat the wintertime blahs! Lovely photos!
Betsy, thank you for the flowers and colors amongst my snowy world. Beautiful!
That is quite a collection!
Looks like you and I got tired of winter about the same time. Spring flowers can always brighten up a cold winter day.
I love all your tulips, irises and daffodils. I almost posted one of my tiger lilies today but decided to save it for later, good to see yours.
Warm hugs,
Judy
Spring will be here soon ...time passes so quickly! Lovely flowers!
I have enjoyed your flower pics Betsy! I have a dear friend that passed away a year and a half ago, and she was queen of the day lilies...she was world renowned for her day lilies. Linda Agin. Google her...She had people purchasing her flowers from all over the world. My daughter worked for her for many years, and now works for another woman hybridizing, etc. Linda even named a day lily after Cherie..my daughter.
I miss you sweet Betsy! We should have a reunion and meet in Big Stone Gap this year :)
