Last week, I posted about our experience attending my grandson, Landon's band play at the football game on October 6. If you missed that post, click HERE.
Today, I'll show you more of what was going on at that game ---besides the band... As you can imagine, I'm a people -watcher... SO---both George and I (mostly George) captured a bunch of good pictures of the game. Hope you enjoy this latest batch.
The picture above was obviously the beginning of the game when a big banner which says "Bearden Bulldogs" was brought out on the field... While the band played, the football team ran through the banner...
Here is a picture of the game itself. Unluckily for Bearden, they lost the game... But --everyone still seemed to have a great time.
This is the dance team. They did many routines when the band played in the stands.
Here is one of the band's majorettes ---as she twirls using fire!!!!
Here are the cheerleaders cheering the entire time --behind the football team. NOTE: The fan cheering section was behind the cheerleaders ---and those young fans really had the spirit...
There was a little of everything offered at this game---including fireworks!!!! (Note that George took most of these pictures... I had a hard time getting good pictures since I'm shorter --and was sitting behind a BIG man!!!! ha ha )
BUT---this is the real reason we went to the game... Landon is a very talented young man --and we are both so very proud of him...
Hope you enjoyed our photos after a great evening at the ballgame. There's just something exciting about being at a high school football game. We loved it!
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy
Love the fireworks photo!
ReplyDeleteNow they know how to put on a show! Great energy, exitement, enthusiasm, and spirit captured so well by George. It's been a long time since I've seen that much show going on at a football game---ours are much more low key. What fun! I'm so glad you were able to be there and see your grandson in action. Plus you don't have to worry about him ending up on crutches! (We've had three boys in our tiny high school end up on crutches and facing surgery from football injuries this year.)
ReplyDeleteLove the fireworks pic esp. :>)
Wow, I can hear the excitement in your voice. Sounds like you had an uplifting time. You can be proud of such a talented musician. I would have enjoyed the band, dancers and cheerleaders much more than the game. I just can't make head or ail of American football, as you know I am a soccer (football) fan. I hope you enjoy the photos that I brought back from our WA and SA trip.
ReplyDeleteGreat!
ReplyDeleteThat youthful energy is contagious!
ReplyDeleteBeing a grandmother, I'm surprised you took a shot of the game. Great that you took the time to come over and watch him perform.
ReplyDeleteThose are some fancy fireworks Betsy!

Looks like everyone had a lot of team spirit and had a great evening. I know your grandson was very pleased to have you and George there.
ReplyDeletea lot of fun entertainment going on plus the game. wish i could kick that HIGH
ReplyDeleteGreat marching band, good football game,cheerleaders,fireworks...what more could anyone ask for. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSeeing those young people perform, makes me wish I had half that energy. Wow,I could turn my whorl upside-down with that. For now I will just sit back and enjoy the ride.:)
ReplyDeleteThat was fun - reminded me of when I worked at a high school, when the kids went, and when I went 4 decades ago.
ReplyDeleteLet me tell you we NEVER had all that - or a dance team - or a fire baton twirler - or fireworks - it is amazing how time changes.
Your grandson IS amazing.

Tell George we appreciate his photos. The fireworks photo is great. I have always said Friday night games are some of the best. Now our local channel shows one high school game on Thursday nights. I think my old school Smith County Owls will play tonight. Enjoyed the post. Peace
ReplyDeleteGeorge did a great job of capturing the evening. I am sure Landon appreciated having grandparents in the stands too!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little envious of those dancers with the free flowing hair...it takes us 40 minutes to get Lindsay's hair in the tight/perfect bun that is required for her dance team. Oy.
Thanks for sharing the photos - great shots that George got! Glad you had fun! My favorite time would definitely be the fireworks and seeing all the young folks having fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is fun with all the activity to capture.
ReplyDeleteIt is really enjoyable to watch your own kids, or even a kid you just know.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and looks fun too! The band reminds me of my sons who used to be in the school band and had been competing with other schools year in and out..
ReplyDeletehigh school football games surely offer a lot of entertainment these days. :)
ReplyDeleteThe perfect fall activity, watching your grandson play ball and enjoying the cooling weather! I have a hard time keeping my eye on the action at any sporting event, I'm always watching people too:)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures capturing the action at the football game! I'm glad you and George got to go see Landon playing in the band! Fun times, for sure!
ReplyDeleteMy compliments to George. These are really great photos, especially considering the distance you probably were from the subjects. And that fireworks photo is one of the best I've seen.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, George!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!
So great that you were able to attend and see your grandson! Looks like it was fun just to participate in that atmosphere of excitement.
ReplyDeleteWow, that must be a very big school! That is quite a half-time show! George took some fantastic photos. I know you are proud of your grandson and rightly so! He looks like he certainly knows what to do with those drums! He's a good-looking guy, I bet he has a lot of girls with their eye on him!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
It's so good you got such memorable pictures Betsy. Glad you could go. I could kick my leg in the air like that once!! Not now!!!!! Diane
ReplyDeleteI love all the pics, and you've got a great variety! My favorites are the cheerleader with fire and the astounding fireworks!!! George's shot is amazing! I think he might have stolen a bit of thunder from you today!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos Betsy...love the fireworks photo!!! ...and the majorette..reminds me of what I can't do these days...lol!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...I am impressed with the fireworks at the game...Are those sparklers by the football boys as they ran out of the whatever you call it? And...I didn't know anyone still twirled with fire...Pretty amazing...sorry for the loss, but looks like the kids had a wonderful time..
ReplyDeleteenjoyed...

ReplyDeleteI apologize for not visiting my favorite blogs lately, and i promise to do some catching-up with everyone in the next few days. We are experiencing cooler weather starting today (Thursday) and as for myself I'm looking forward to falls return to the Lancaster Pennsylvania area. And are the color of the leaves changing your your way folks as they are mine. Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall season that has now begun. Richard from Amish Stories.

ReplyDeleteBetsy very nice photos, and wow for the fireworks. I never was big fan of any sport, but I do enjoy photographing sports in action. Thanks for sharing your images, and hope all is well otherwise. Anna :)
