Our Daylilies---Part II

Wow---welcome to JULY... Time is flying by these days it seems!!! Our yard has been gorgeous with color these past few months. So far this year, we have had 16 different varieties of Daylilies ---each with many, many blooms. They have been so pretty!!!!! I hate it when they are all gone! We do have a few reblooming Daylilies ---so maybe I'll see some more in the Fall.

Today I'll share with you six more of our Daylilies. If you want to see any of the others I have published, go to my sidebar, scroll down to LABELS and click on DAYLILIES 2010. Above is one that you will want to eat... Its name is STRAWBERRY CANDY.... Want a bite????? Below are more!

CAROLYN CRISWELL

HUSH LITTLE BABY

DARING DECEPTION

EYE-YI-YI

ROSIE MEYER

As I mentioned above, we have been lucky with our flowers this year so far... Most everything has bloomed and been very pretty --despite the fact that we have had horribly hot temperatures and dry conditions in June. I hope you enjoyed seeing more of our Daylilies today.

+++++++++++++++++++++
Since many of you have asked about my doctor's appointment, I'd better give a short update.. (Then I'll quit talking about it --at least for a day or two!!!! ha).. Knee Replacement surgery won't have to happen --at least for quite sometime. Beginning in two weeks, I will have a Synvisc injection in the knee --which should help. I will have this injection every six months as needed. In the meantime, I am trying two new types of medications (one for Arthritis and one for pain)... Let's just hope that neither of these cause me to have stomach problems --like the last medications did. I like my doctor and think that she is on the right track when it comes to me and my crazy knee!

Have a wonderful Thursday! Thanks so much for your kind words and prayers for me these past couple of months as I manage to get back to 'normal' --whatever that is!!!

Hugs,

  1. I never knew there were so many different coloured day lilies. I will have to look around the nurseries for some as the common yellow one grows quite well in our hot climate. Hope the injections work well.

  5. I know it's too late for this year, but as a daylily fan have you ever come over to the Oakes Daylily Festival - I think it was this past weekend. If not it might make a nice little day trip for you next year. Here are a couple of sites to check out.

  9. Gorgeous daylilies, Betsy---the different colors are magnificent. Tom and I were out the other day and passed a place where they had 2 or 3 acres of daylilies---what a sight! I guess it was probably someone who sells them.

I've been keeping you and your knee in my prayers. Glad to hear it's better---I do hope the medicines help and don't cause nasty side effects.

  21. So glad you don't need knee surgery! I do hope this treatment works well. You know, one feeds dogs alfalfa for arthritis ... I'm sure it works for humans too. One can get some at the health food store (for humans). I put some in Mingus' food everyday because it is good for skin too etc ... just as a preventative.

  27. Wow, wow and more wow!! The lilies are just stunning. Your lawn must be bursting with color! I am glad your knee is coming along, I think once you have the injection you will see a big difference. But don't do as I did after mine, I went right out on a hike....not a smart idea. Do what the doctor says! I just felt so much better afterwards that I couldn't control the impulse to get outside. I hope you and George have a most wonderful Fourth of July.

  29. Betsy you and George have so many beautiful lilies I don't see how you keep track of them. :)
I do hope the Synvisc injections work for you. My arthritis medicine has a coating to prevent stomach upset so I hope you've been prescribed one of those.
Love the new header - very appropriate for the coming holiday!

  30. Stunning beauty...
    I like them all !
Especially love the ones with curly edges, they look so feminine.
Hmmm, I was curious about the injection, if it helps let me know, I may ask my physician to give it a try in my bad knee.
    Good news, no replacement.
    Hugs,
    Jo

  31. I've very happy that you didn't ask us to vote on our favorite lily. First I thought Strawberry Candy, then I found Daring Deception, then it was eye-yi-yi. There's no way to choose. I want them all!

Hope the shots and medication do the trick for your knee!!

    Best,
    Bonnie
