George and I took a drive in the country this past Sunday afternoon east of Fairfield Glade toward the little town of Hebbertsburg, TN. Since we haven't done much of this in awhile, due to my knee surgery, it felt wonderful just to get out for a drive. What does one find while driving around in the country????? WELL---pictured above, you'll see some gorgeous blue skies, puffy clouds and lots of beautiful mountains in the background... Below --you'll see more!!!
You drive on tiny little roads just like this one!!!!
You pass by an old barn, and think about Blog Friend, ROSE, who loves barns!!!
You also pass and admire (and take lots of pictures of) all of the gorgeous wildflowers in bloom now!
AND--you will pass by a cute little log home --which you wished belonged to you!!!!! Sigh!!!
I'll have six more pictures from this little ride--which I will share next week.
Have a wonderful Wednesday! I have a doctor's appointment today --so maybe I'll find out what the next step is!!!! Don't you just love hearing about the Saga of my KNEE?????? Fun Fun!!!
Hugs,
Nothing beats a ride in the country especially if you can't walk in the country. I love the warm looking skies and sunshine. We are having our coldest days so far this winter. We are shivering in 7*C to 18C*(45*F to 65*F) and had to put the aircon onto heating. However it is good weather for gardening. (But my prolapsed disc doesn't like me doing too much before it lets me know) So from one sore back to one sore knee "have a nice day." I do like to hear how you are progressing. It must be so frustrating for a hiker.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything nicer than a ride in the lush Tennessee countryside ?
ReplyDeletePerfection at it's best.
Love the bright yellow flowers, are they Black-eye Susans ?
When I'm feeling my stress level going up, I stop at the local drive-in restaurant, order a large banana milkshake, and head out for a ride in the country.
It cures what ails you ;)
Healing knees....they take their own sweet time, sending hugs your way !
Jo
There is nothing better than a drive in the country and in particular, the mountains, to clear your mind. I enjoy hearing about your recovery, mostly because you seem to be doing so well. Have a great 4th - hope that you and George have something fun planned!

We were pondering what to do last weekend and one of the ideas was a ride in the country (the main point being the air-conditioned truck). Glad you got out, great pictures of your road trip.

When we take a ride in the country, the scenery looks similar. I love just going for a ride, no particular destination .. just riding. I hope that your doctor's visit goes well.

Sometimes life is just one saga after another. But you are dealing with it with a great attitude, that is what matters.
ReplyDeleteI love that photo of the barn too. And I will go in halfsies with you on the log home.
Your state has some of the most beautiful scenery around. Loved taking this little ride with you. George needs to use this sky scene for Sky Watch. That is lovely. Trust you get a good report today.

Actually, I am very interested in your doctors appointment, and want to hear all about it! You are watching for things that some people never see, and you sure found plenty of them on this trip. Some people say that a ride in the country is boring, and to that I say "Open your eyes!" I love the creek!!!
ReplyDeleteA ride in the country is good for the spirit and the body. More of us just need to slow up a bit and enjoy the details of life.
ReplyDeletelove to hear most about your knee and how it is improving! hoping!! and praying!

ReplyDeleteWell you probably wouldn't have taken that ride other wise...so that was a stop and smell the roses kind of day. ;)
ReplyDeleteHope to hear a good report from you.
Betsy, I really do wish you didn't have this knee thing to deal with...but since you do, we do want to hear.
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine how good it felt for you to get out...I am so glad you found something to settle your stomach. I need to file that Maalox thing away, just in case I ever need it.
Anyway, like the new look to your blog, and I love those photos! Before I even read what you said about the barn, I thought to myself that I bet you were thinking of me when you took it!
We do that all the time...that is where we get a lot of my photos. ha
ReplyDeleteI love following roads and not knowing where the next curve will go or what it will show you!
Love that creek, but wow is it low..have you been without rain for a long time there?
The best part of being laid up or out of commission is that when you do get out you relish EVERY thing. You realize the beauty in the everyday and look at things with new eyes. Good for you, Betsy. How wonderful! Diane
ReplyDeleteI just love rides in the country...old barns, wildflowers, and just being up close and personal with Nature! Thanks for sharing your pictures!

ReplyDeleteHope your doctors appointment went well and you'll be hiking instead of driving in no time at all. I feel better tonight that son is in better hands, the difference in hospitals and doctors has me astounded. Blessings to you Marilyn
