Fall Creek Falls State Park --4/21/10--Part I

George and I had a beautiful day yesterday at Fall Creek Falls. You will have to read yesterday's post (click
HERE) in order to know WHY we were there!!!!!! Today and tomorrow, I will show you a few pictures from our beautiful day! Above is a picture of the Cane Creek Cascades.. Below are more.

We always enjoy seeing the deer when we go to the park. This one stopped and looked at us --but didn't run away!!! I think they are used to people --especially ones like me who are taking their picture.

I was fascinated at the reflections in the water here. This is near the area where I got my first kiss in 2001..... We had to relive that moment you know!!!

'
Spring is a beautiful time to visit the park since there were lots of dogwoods blooming ---along with many beautiful wildflowers. These little blue flowers reminded me of the Bluebonnets I used to see in Texas. Aren't they pretty?

One of our favorite large waterfalls at Fall Creek Falls is one that is in a different area of the park from most of the others. This one is named PINEY FALLS--and we are viewing it from an overlook.

Here's the "Happy Couple" talking about all of our wonderful memories we have had together since that special date on April 21, 2001.

I'll post more pictures tomorrow . But --you need to know that we will be out-of-pocket for about 3 days while we head to West Virginia to do some waterfalling!!!! I will have the laptop--IF we have Verizon service. BUT--if I don't get to your blogs, don't give up on me. I will try to catch up sometime!!!!

Hugs to all,

First kiss memories ahhhhh such a romantic. I see you have shed all those jackets and scarves that you had on a few months ago. It must feel good. Have a good time waterfalling and kissing.

  17. I am glad you always put pictures of you and George with your photos. you do such a good job of it with your timer. i have never tried my timer. i might play with it, but i don't want me in the photo. the deer is wonderful, wish I could have seen him/her. as always beautiful falls. are you on a high ledge? or is the water just below you, i see your reflection and I do hope that is not a ledge.

  18. For a second that one photo of you made me think you were standing on a big huge cliff! But then I realized that it was a reflection.

  19. Oh, I love to hear of your adventures and see the pictures. The reflection shot is so cool - you can barely see where the reflection starts and the real ends!

Happy 'anniversary'! It is so great when we can remember all of those special dates and places. My hubby gave me my first kiss in a grocery store parking lot. We had been 'seeing' each other as friends for about a year. I was working at the store and he came to visit me on my break. That was when we officially began dating. He had come to tell me he had been thinking that maybe we should be more than friends. A year and a half later we were married! What a blessing to have such wonderful memories!

Of course the grocery store is gone now - and in it's place a work out gym. Not sure we want to go back there to relive the moment - but you have an extra special place!

  23. Congratulations on celebrating your special day, Betsy! Such great photos in this post and the one before it too. I always love when you post pictures of deer. They don't stay around to get their picture taken here. I really like the reflections in the water too.

  24. That one pic where you see your reflection actually looks like you are standing on a rock cliff and it falls off right there next to you for miles! I got nervous when I first saw it because I felt you were in danger being so close to the edge!!! LOL. I calmed down when I realized it was water there!

Have a wonderful trip and for goodness sake, don't worry about visiting blogs while you are having the time of your life!!!

    xoxo- Julie
