Fall Colors at Fall Creek Falls

Here's another set of pictures from our Sunday visit to Fall Creek Falls with family. I was surprised to see as much Fall color as I did. That was the only sunny day we've had in awhile. The rains came back Monday---and it's supposed to rain most of the week. What's up with that????

Above is a picture of Fall Creek Falls in Autumn.. We have lots of picture of this waterfall and many when it had MUCH more water coming over the falls. BUT--the Fall colors around it are really pretty, aren't they? Below are more.

These two trees with their red and yellow colors were so pretty--with the sun hitting them.

Here's another picture of the gorge/canyon at Fall Creek Falls in Autumn.

This Sugar Maple is just beginning to change colors. I can only imagine how pretty it will be in another week or two.

A trip to Fall Creek Falls would not be complete if we didn't see some deer.. We actually saw several --mostly late in the afternoon.

Here's one last picture of us --sitting at the top of the gorge. George was again the picture-taker. Note those beautiful mountain ranges in the background. This place is just like a piece of what I think heaven will be!!!!!

Hugs,

Looks like everything will be just beautiful given another week or so, the wet summer will give us one spectacular show this year when the leaves turn.
    Isn't that gorge breathtaking?
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us Betsy, for those of us, who don't get out and about near as much, it sure feels so.

  5. We don't have this much color yet. With all the rain we've been having I'm not sure if the leaves will stay on long enough to turn!
Enough Rain! I remember a little thing we would sing as kids, "Rain, Rain go away, come again another day." I'm ready for it to Go Away!

  8. Still in shirt sleeves huh. Love your changing leaves.
I am in the same boat as Harriet. These all day rains are beating the leaves off the trees.
Been through enough droughts though that I refuse to complain.
