GEORGE EMERY ADAMS |
Dear Friends, Click
HERE to send a shout-out to GEORGE. He turned 75 last Thursday!!!!!! I wanted to make sure he had a great birthday --BUT because I had been so sick, I didn't want to stray away from home for long... SO--- since he LOVES WATERFALLS, we went to Cumberland Falls State Park in Kentucky.
Even though we only stayed there one night, I think he had a great day ---and I did fine (although I truly took it easy since I still have lots of congestion and not much energy nor lung power)... One of these days--I'll get totally well..?????
BUT--this post is about George... I know that many of you don't care for Facebook --but we had so much fun for a couple of days communicating back and forth with friends/family --celebrating G's birthday... I think he had over 100+ Happy Birthday messages... Such a joy sharing this joy back and forth! One thing about Facebook is the 'current' communication that we can get.
SO---today I'll share some of those pictures I put on Facebook --along with pictures from Cumberland Falls... Hope you enjoy this blog post... You can click on the pictures for enlargements...

Someone is on top of the world!!!! OR maybe he is surrendering to the police????? ha ha ... I asked the Facebook folks to come up with a good caption for this one ---and we got some GREAT ones! (Arkansas, 2/16/17) |

We had hoped to see the MOONBOW (rainbow at night) that night ---and there WAS a moon up there trying to shine down... BUT--as you can see, there were enough thin clouds to keep that moon from being EXTREMELY bright... Because of that, George could only get pictures of the moonbow with his camera (on a special setting). We could not see it with the naked eye.. |
|
This is part of the moonbow (captured by George's Canon) on 3/9/17. Believe it or not but it was totally DARK when he took this picture... George will post an even better picture of the moonbow both on Facebook and on his blog. (Remember that it was totally dark and that we couldn't see this with the naked eye.) |

Two people in love enjoying a waterfall and celebrating George's Birthday (3/9/17) |
Well, besides enjoying Cumberland Falls both during the day and at night, we also enjoyed a delicious Birthday Dinner at the state park lodge restaurant... All in all, it was a great day and I hope that my Sweetheart enjoyed it as much as I did...
We got home the next afternoon ---and guess what I did??????? Went to bed for a long nap!!!! ha
Have a great week, my Friends, and don't miss seeing George's blog post today. Click

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you RE=posted these. Because I only saw about half on Facebook. They are wonderful, and I have just returned from George's blog. My favorites would be the Moonbow, the mists, and George with his arms up in the air. AND the two of you. I am so sorry to hear you are STILL sick!!! Good grief it has been a long time. Maybe a specialist...a different doctor?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a joyful birthday! Love that moonbow.

Some great pics here...I don't spend a lot of time on facebook so I miss a lot.
ReplyDeleteI meant to tell you that one of our friends/neighbors has had pnewmonia for two months. They have just now found something that is helping him. He has lost weight, and didn't really have any to spare. He did not say what all he had taken, but he looked bad. I am not sure I would have known him if not for his voice.
Oh what a great birthday post! I can see he had a great 75th! He did look like a monkey 🐒 lol. The moonbow which I never heard of but seen how pretty they are in his talents
ReplyDeletePray you get better, that stuff is rough I hear

All the best Jan
Betsy, Hope that you regain your strength and overall health soon! Happy birthday George! Its nice to know someone who is older than I am... At 75 and beyond, all birthdays are really worth celebrating! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteSo nice of you to organize a great birthday for George! Nice tribute.
ReplyDeleteWell, a belated happy birthday to George and a belated get-well wish for you. You got some great shots of this beautiful place. And I think the moonbow shot you shared here is amazing. I'm off now to see what George posted.
ReplyDeleteI went to George's post and here does take spme awesome shots. I love how you two manage to send out great vibes about your shared time together. That lung thing hit our family in Late December up to early January. Even baby abd cat manageged to need medication .mine lasted long but hubby's was longest. Buddy was spared and I was happy for him. He has his skin issue. We just spent 1 week in warm sun by the sea March1to`8 and his skin always improves a bit. Tonight at home we are have serious arcric cold winds and a big snow storm that also will hit NY and Boston has now begun. I guess we'll just stay cosy inside until it all settles down a bit. It is March break for schools so it makes it less hectic all around. Two weeks ago we hit record highs and locals were in shorts and sandals. Crazy Toronto weather:(
ReplyDeleteRest and get well soon.
WOW! Gend George my birthday wishes Betsy. Both of you look wonderful
ReplyDeleteHowdy Betsy, so glad you enjoyed my post on the old pink house! It was awful hard to see that amazing house so full of family history taken down to rubble but i guess it had to be done. Sigh
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your George!! Looks like y'all had a wonderful celebration and sure got some great pictures!
Hope you're feeling better and are y'all getting any snow or bad/cold weather up there that way? we are getting alot of rain here and it's awful cold for us, we are used to it being warm. Got out the gloves and hats and winter coats for a few days!!
Have a great week! Stay safe. Stay warm.
Hard to beat 75 and going strong - you take good care of your man. Happy belated BD George

Happy Birthday to George. What beautiful pictures with the mist over the falls, plus the moonbow.
ReplyDeleteWe have had such mild weather up here, and spring flowers were almost ready to bloom; however, we got a bit of winter yesterday. I'm glad I picked some of my daffodils and put them in water. They are blooming beautifully; however, the ones outside--I'm not sure we will see them this year.
Sorry to hear you have been ill. Hope it passes quickly.
God bless.....Janice
