Our area had been extremely dry here until the week of September 28th- October 4th---when we had a very dreary/cloudy/foggy/rainy/drizzly week. And until October 4th, we didn't have too many Autumn Colors here yet...
BUT---after the 4th, we saw more and more colors popping out on our trees.... We are still not nearly to 'peak' here yet ---but I did manage to find some great colors to share with you today. I'll post another group at the end of the month --for comparison...
Hope you enjoy the Fall Colors today. Be sure to click on the pictures for enlargements.
Hope you enjoyed seeing some of our colors here in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee... It has amazed me how much the leaves have changed as we progressed through the week....
Do you love Autumn???? It's definitely one of my favorite seasons --although Spring is almost a TIE.... I really enjoy all of the seasons --but Summer is my least favorite time of the year.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Looking good!
ReplyDeletevery pretty fall colors. It's about the same here. It's just starting to really show the color but not at peak yet. I enjoy seeing the leaves change but it also makes me a bit sad knowing that it's going to be so cold very soon
ReplyDeleteHello Betsy, those bronzy leaves are beautiful. A special time of the year. I know that I see more when I walk and also from the back of the motorbike. I have a Sony Point and Shoot camera which fits into my leather waistcoat and which I whip out and use all along the way as we tour with the bike. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteMy favourite time of the year for admiring the colours all around. Two walks a day! Good for you.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Here, more and more color is popping out. The shadows are longer. I love fall!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
I always knew we were kindred spirits. Summer is also my least favourite season.I love all the color in these pictures. Those phones are just the handiest things.Imagine that,we can even use them to make phone calls. LOL It's still dark here, but I wonder how many leaves will be left on the trees, the wind has been terrible all night. I love all your pictures. Have a great day and take more pictures.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
You really do have a lot of color. Ours are turning also, but nothing like yours. Fall is definitely mu favorite time of year. Next week hubby and I are taking a drive further north of here. Hopefully we will see lots of Fall colors on our trip. Thanks for sharing your "colors" with us.
ReplyDeleteI love the changing seasons!! It's so nice to go outside and feel the crisp morning air. There will be snow in the mountains one day soon....
ReplyDeleteI love the Appalachian mountains in the fall. Your pictures make me want to go home.
ReplyDeleteHappy Autumn Betsy. Love the trees and pretty colors. Gorgeous images. Happy Monday, have a great new week!
ReplyDeleteThe only color we have is because the poor leaves and plants have dried up. Not pretty, just brown. You live where beauty abounds.Tell George hello.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures of the fall colors, and your header is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job of capturing the beginnings of our autumn colors here in the Glade. I'm beginning to get confident that autumn is really on the way.
ReplyDeleteI love your colorful Fall captures for the day, Betsy!! A beautiful season it is indeed!! Terrific new header, too! I do hope you have a great new week!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteYou get very similar colors to us here. So you are turning - we are just starting. I love fall - it is my FAVORITE season - it just feels so alive...
ReplyDeleteYes - I love autumn! Wonderful colours.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, We've started changing colors down here in the valley as well. I'd say that we're a week to 10 days behind you up on the Cumberland Plateau. Nice Photos! We both love fall too...but it does lead into our least favorite season. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty place you have to walk and you are way ahead of us with color. Like you, summer is my least favorite. Anymore it is just too darn hot. I am more house bound in the summer than in the winter. You can put more clothes on when it is cold. The law only allows you to take so much off when it is hot.
ReplyDeleteGo Astros.
Our colours are just beginning. We went out this afternoon to see what we could see and there were only 2 or 3 trees in full glory. I would like to see your area of the world when the colours are at their best.
ReplyDeleteah, betsy. yours are among the photos i mos.t look forward to seeing come Fall. your autumn world is so beautiful
ReplyDeleteHello my sweet friend..... you have some splendid colors around your place.....It's too dry around here and all we have seen is Brown! It was hot here today, in the 90's! Ready for some fresh rain and cooler temps..
ReplyDeleteWish I were in your area and driving around looking at all the bright colors...
We finally have some fall colours here too, and yes it's definitely a favourite season, especially to be outside walking.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Betsy! We're seeing about the same here...a little more each day. I do love this time of year. The coolness is so refreshing after the heat and humidity of summer.
ReplyDeletespectactular autumn colours Betsy. HAve a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures Betsy! I must admit that I do miss the autumm colors up in New England. They are so vibrant there. Florida has some changes but nothing compared to what you have or the northeast. Enjoy Mother Nature!!
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy the views, and loved that last shot. Fall is my favorite...not doubt about it. But when all is said and done, I think a lot of us really look forward to spring by the time winter is over!
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy, I love autumn and it is my favorite season, but spring is definitely a close second! Your fall color is a bit more advanced than ours, but it is changing here everyday. I need to get out with my camera and look around! I enjoyed your beautiful photos. Have a lovely day! ~Cheryl
ReplyDeletei enjoy your red, white & blue name (signature) on this post. cute!! hope you & George are both doing well. love all the fall colors. i can not believe how quickly time is flying by. fall will be over too quick for me. i love this time of the year. look forward to it all the time. i just came in from cleaning up leaves, it is a full time job. there is always something to do outdoors. enjoying all these cool temps, & then during the day it is back in the 70s, wonder what will be next? i did make two apple pies for the parents & my in-laws, they were here last weekend. so fun. & they turned out so delicious. i just tried to make baked apples, i will have to do better next time, think they need more cooking time. it is funny how you find new things to cook, i love doing that. have a lovely week. thanks for stopping by. means the world to me. take care. big big hugs. ( :
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful fall colors! October is my favorite month, even though we don't have any colorful fall leaves in this part of Arizona. Enjoy the week.
ReplyDeleteI do love autumn, but I love any change of season. Your colors are looking good. We're just starting the change, maybe a little behind you.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful pics. You have a lot more color than we do. I guess it's cause you're a little farther north. Thanks for sharing your beauty. Hugs and blessings, xo
ReplyDeleteNice to have all the colors!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is very pretty in your area. We hardly see a difference here. Spring and Autumn are my best seasons. Not too hot and not too cold..
ReplyDeleteColors changing everywhere. Feels good too. We won't have a much color this year I'm thinking because it is still to nice out. cool but no frosts yet and that is what brings the red and gold on. I am enjoying anyway.
ReplyDeleteMB
Beautiful colors in your fall leaves, Betsy. Ours are changing quickly here too.
ReplyDeleteThe second picture against the blue sky is the best.
ReplyDeleteI love all the fall colors in your country, amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Betsy!
Bia
Nice! I love autumn, but I wish it lasted longer.
ReplyDeleteHasn't this been the most glorious fall? Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteIt good to be surrounded by colors and hope it was enriched by this time! In our part of world – southeast India, autumn really doesn’t exists but was monsoon or rainy. I love looking at autumn photos and colors that elaborate the landscapes there.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and I like the last one more!
I love Fall!
