Christmas Wreaths

George and I have been to Biltmore several times  ---and have enjoyed visiting the Conservatory to see their Christmas poinsettias, orchids, amaryllis  and many other plants.  This year,  I started looking at all of their beautiful wreaths all around the Conservatory area (inside and outside)... SO---today,  I'll share some of these beauties with you...  I love wreaths --so it was fun looking at all of the creative things they did when making these wreaths...

Can you choose a favorite or two????  I had trouble --but will tell you my favorites at the end of this post.... Get a cup of coffee and sit down and enjoy seeing these gorgeous wreaths.  Be sure to click on them for enlargements.

Well----what do you think?????  I like the 3rd one ---but I'm not creative enough to appreciate the chipped-paint door..  I think it detracts from that wreath...  SO---my favorites are the first one with the ferns and the last one....  Which ones did you choose?

Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you on Monday.

Hugs,

  1. I always enjoy your Biltmore posts. This one is especially beautiful with its clear focus on the wreaths of the season.

  2. I love them all but number three is my favorite too. I like the shabby chic, paint chipped door too. I used to have an old table that would match it.

  3. They are all pretty, but I must say after scrolling a couple of times...my favorite is the header.

  4. They are all beautiful wreaths, Betsy! Way too hard to pick a favorite. Have a happy weekend!

  8. I love when you and George visit Biltmore! Always great pix. My favorite wreath -- the one that smells the best! ;)

  9. I love them all but the third one is my favorite.

  10. I like one and the last one because of the windows behind them..

  11. I need one of those, I couldn't get in the mood this year to make one.

  12. I like that third one with the chipped door behind it. It's so unusual. I presume it's a living wreath with growing plants?

  13. My favorite is the second set of double door wreaths. I like their earthiness with a touch of glamour.
Someday I hope to get to Biltmore---maybe in two years when I'm retired and can travel in the off-months.:>)
btw I enjoyed your sweater comment on my post about adult blankies.

  14. I'm not sure I can pick a favorite...All I can say is they make anything I have ever created or bought look pretty shabby.

  15. I would pick number 3 also because it is so unique. But I think it would look better on a different background. however, having said that - they are all so gorgeous I would take any of them if they gave them to me.

  16. Betsy, I'm not really into wreaths...but my wife is! (For me, too much expense for something beautiful that is soon discarded) However, my favorites from your blog are the one with the artsy chipped paint door and the last one. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  17. They are all beautiful...love the one with the hens/chicks! Would never have thought of that. I really don't know which is my favorite...

  18. They all are beautiful but I think I like the more traditional wreaths. I like the 3rd set with the Magnolia leaves. When I worked at Emery's garden we made fabulous wreaths that we sent out all over the country. It sure was fun. MB

  19. I like your header and side bar words and pictures. Thank you for all of them. My favourite wreath is the unusual one with the tropical plants hanging on the 'shabby chic' door. I didn't notice the door until you mentioned it and I took a second look. (My brain must have been concentrating on the lovely wreaths).

  20. My favorite was the third one. I didn't even notice the door. Had to go back and look after reading on :)

  21. What a decision! They are all beautiful. I think I'd choose the 2nd one because I love the red ribbon in it, but I'd have to remove those long thingys hanging from it!
Have a nice day! The weather is going to be wintry here.

  22. I think I had the same reaction to the one on the chipped-paint door. It's a beautiful wreath, but not very well displayed. These are all lovely, though. Someone has some serious wreath-making talent.

If I must pick one it would be the first one.

  45. I like simplicity so three is mine too. I love peeling paint as well so the door works as well for me.
They sure made some lovely natural wreaths though.

  49. Next to impossible to pick a favorite here but I favor the ones with pine branches in them. Some of the others are interesting but not necessarily my taste.

  50. They are all beautiful. I also think I like the third one best. Maybe because it's still living.
