Brandywine Falls, Cuyahoga National Park, Ohio

After we left Buffalo (visiting George's daughter and hubby),  we stopped  south of Cleveland on Sept. 12,  to see a waterfall which we had read about previously but had never seen.   BRANDYWINE FALLS is in the Cuyahoga National Park.  What a gorgeous waterfall.  Even the hike to the falls was nice.  Hope you enjoy seeing that area with us through our photos.  Above is a picture of George ---as we hiked on the nice trail they had built.

Here is one of our first views of the entire waterfall.  Isn't it awesome?

This is a close-up photo of the top of that massive waterfall.

I loved the way they built this waterfall viewing area.  There were steps --but seeing the waterfall from the lower vantage point made it all worthwhile.

The entire area around the falls was very pretty --with the greenery,  the wildflowers,  and the rocks (boulders).

I wanted you to see more of this platform --built around the rocks and ferns.  Pretty, huh?

Finally,  we set up the tripod and took some pictures of us at Brandywine Falls.   Hope you enjoyed seeing our photos from this gorgeous waterfall in beautiful Ohio.

Have a wonderful day. We will be out-of-pocket today since we are going to Biltmore House and Gardens to see what is NEW in the way of Fall colors/flowers...

Hugs,
Betsy

  3. This is beautiful!
Why do I think I have to go to Tn.or NC. to see waterfalls? This is only an hour or two from my place. I guess I need to take more time to explore my own state!!

  6. Love how they wrapped the platform around it without taking away the rustic feel of the area.

  11. I would like to walk on that path in the first shot. and those are some killer stairs you are standing at the top of. i started huffing and puffing thinking about walking up them. i could go up but it would take a LONG time to come down them, up the stairs is good for me, down is hard

  18. Wow! So beautiful! I can see why you find waterfalls so addictive! But I would have found those stairs daunting. They look so steep and difficult to climb.

  21. What a beautiful place! I loved the tour and photos, especially since my back and legs would mean those stairs would be my undoing. Isn't that the most wonderful part of blogging.....exploring places that would otherwise be nearly impossible to visit in person? Thanks for sharing, Betsy!

  22. Great picture of the two of you Betsy. Beautiful waterfalls, too. Don't you ever wonder about the people who built those platforms and stairs etc? I sure do, it gives me goose bumps! Diane

  25. Again, I'm drawing in my breath at your stunning header and fall background! Good pictures of the falls, it sure was strong! The walkway looks very sturdy. For once you two have a safe place to walk about and mama hen doesn't have to be clucking about you falling!!! Love your Monday post on the peach festival, it's the fanciest one I have ever seen. Favorite pic; the Hillbilly village!! Too cute!

  36. Your photos are really beautiful. I had never seen waterfalls that look like this until we were in the Ithaca, NY area. I love the dark rocks that look like stairs underneath the water. This is a very lovely place.

  38. You and George always see the best things Betsy. I have to travel South tomorrow for work. I will be almost to the U.S. boarder. I am taking my camera but I do not anticipate seeing more than the flat prairie fields and a deer or two. No lovely waterfalls in Saskatchewan. :(

Hope you are having a lovely week!

  47. Cuyahoga National Park is in our neck of the woods, and we've never visited there. We were planning a trip a few years ago, but they had had some road closures due to flooding. So we didn't go. Now you've put it back on our list again. :) Beautiful pictures of a beautiful waterfall.

  48. Another perfect day for you in autumn weather! I love how the falls terrace down steps rather than just go over the edge of something. It's beautiful.

  49. I love a waterfall! Those steps look challenging but I would use them to get there too! What a great trip and your photos are always fabulous!
