If you missed my first post from the Peaks of Otter on my birthday, please click HERE. Today, I'll show one more set of pictures from this fabulous resort... Above is one of the first pictures we took once we checked into our room. The view of the lake and mountains from our room was fabulous!!!! Below are more pictures!
We enjoyed seeing the Cattails along the lakeshore. The Red-winged Blackbirds were all over the place around here --but of course, I didn't get a picture. I did SEE them though!!!!
As you know, if you have read my other posts from this trip, it rained BEFORE we got here. In this picture, you will see some of the gorgeous grounds around our resort. You'll also see the fog on the mountain in the distance... That makes for a great picture I think.
We loved this little bridge on the grounds at the Peaks of Otter resort. We were on our way to dinner.
We are at the Conference Center where the restaurant is... I think George is saying: "Come on. Quit taking pictures... The Prime Rib is calling our names!!!" (By the way, our dinner was phenomenal.)
On our way back to the room following dinner, we loved seeing this gorgeous reflection in the water.
Hope you enjoyed seeing this wonderful place where my sweet husband brought me for my 68th Birthday!!!!! It was wonderful ---and we loved every second of it! Next week, I will continue with our journey on the Skyline Drive and the Shenandoah National Park. As I have said a million times, this was a marvelous trip!!!!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I won't be blogging much --since I have MUCH work to do on my Family History program. SO---I'll be catching up with emails from cousins asking Genealogy questions, and continuing to work on my family's history. I'll blog again on Monday.
Hugs,
Great photos, Betsy. Have a great weekend and enjoy your family history program!

Looks like a lovely place Betsy. Have fun with your history project!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Betsy! Also, a belated Happy B'Day ! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYou guys really do find the neatest places to stay with great views. Since this time you aren't looking down a mountain from a cute cabin, the water vista is a super change of pace.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
George is right, I can smell the prime rib here. I like it medium rare please.
ReplyDeleteNice photos. Love the Cattails, little bridge and the reflection on the water. fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a very nice place. I may have to try it if we ever go down the Parkway again.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you had a wonderful time. I missed the first post on your trip so I'll be checking it out now. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful pictures! Now, that pretty little arched bridge that you're on is just my speed, it's adorable. And how sweet of George to wait for you to you catch up, though he does look a bit antsy to eat! My favorite one is that lovely lake with the reflections!! Can't wait to see your pics from Skyline, because you know that I will NOT go up there! Not till they get giant guard rails at least five feet high. So though I live here, I must look at others posts to see things on it!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Betsy, I especially love the reflection in the water photo. The prime rib sounds like it would be delicious! Hope you enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love cattails to this day. The ways we played with them when we were kids!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a nice walking trail on their grounds. I would love to run along there.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys have a great weekend!
enjoy your week end off, i might start doing that since you suggested it to me. love the cattails and YOU on that lovely bridge
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, Betsy! George does look like he is telling you to get a move on. I can understand that, though .. prime rib ... yummy. I love prime rib.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful area this is. I love that you had such a nice birthday weekend with George.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend and much luck on your genealogy.

ReplyDeleteThe cattails look like hotdogs on sticks. hahaha. Love you photo on the bridge. You really look so happy and delighted. Your smile made my day. I woke up to a foggy morning and it kinda affected my mood and what do you know... I logged in and visited your blog and saw your picture. Keep it up to brighten someone else's day. It's contagious.
ReplyDeleteLove the Cat Tails, and the mist, and the pervasive feeling of calm in Nature. Lovely...
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, Betsy. Makes me want to visit! I think fog adds a romantic touch to photos. Well done! Looking forward to more!
ReplyDeleteLove the fog in the mountains and the reflections in the water - It's funny - I usually see the trees above - and after taking their pictures - I start walking away and then remember 'oh yeah' the reflection shots.

Great photos....have a good week and good luck on your family history....talk to you later. God Bless Trish
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful view! The photo of those Cattails reminds me of the view of Spring Lake on St. George Drive just off of Peavine. There are sometimes Red-winged Blackbirds there, too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Whoa, Betsy! Looks like a wonderful place & I love that last shot & the reflections... those cattails sure bring back childhood memories of a pond that used to be behind our house. We used to go down there & pretend there was monsters in the water like Ol Nessy & we'd used the cattails to fight it off like they were our swords! I had forgotten all about that pond - that was a really good memory you've brought back to life for me! So thanks so much!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs & blessings

If I were you, I would be framing that one and hanging it on my wall. ReplyDeleteIt's a shame they're keeping her from us & the love we could be showing her!!! It infuriates me at times... Please pray! Surely their minds can be changed!
