So far, I have shared 14 varieties of the gorgeous Lilies in our yard this year. Today I will share 5 more with you ---which still leaves 11 (since we have 30 different Lily varieties). In order to see any of the first 14, go to my sidebar and scroll down to Labels. Then click on Lilies 2010.
Above is a picture of the side flowerbed --where many of our Lilies and Daylilies are. Most of them are gone now --but I wish you could have been here to smell them. Below are more individual Lilies. Hope you enjoy them!
BUENA VISTA
AMERICAN ORIGINAL
AMERICAN DREAM
ORANGE TIGER LILY (I love this lily!!!!)
DIZZY (another fav---but I love them all!!!!)
Hope you are enjoying our Lilies. Like the Daylilies and Tulips, the Lilies were gorgeous this year... Even in the heat and humidity and dryness of the summer, the Lilies put on a great show... I will have two more blogs showing the remainder of our Lilies, sometime in the next week or two.
+++++++++++
Blog Tip #6: Never assume that people know what you are talking about. New people come to our blogs often --and if we don't explain what is going on, they may not understand at all. That is why I repeat things so much. It's boring for those who have come to my blog for awhile--but new people appreciate the explanations.
Have a wonderful weekend. I'll blog again on Monday morning.
Hugs,
Betsy, your lilies pictures are stunning, especially the Tiger Lily! I noticed some lilies (mostly yellow) blooming around New England when first I arrived. Have a lovely weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy the photos of the individual lilies. Dizzy is a beauty! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI bet your neighbors are green with envy. You have to have the best looking and sweetest smelling yard for miles around! Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteTiger lily and Dizzy...my fav's too! For flowers that require so little from the grower on the whole, they surely do give us a lot, don't they?! :) Even I, the WomanWithTheBlackThumb, have been know to grow them and see them thrive in some of my pitiful little garden. Next year, lilies for me in my little barren patch beside the house!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Betsy. Bev is a big fan of Daylilies
ReplyDeletethat orange tiger lily is really gorgeous. the angle, the color, the sharpeness the flower, all very pleasing to stare at.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, Your blog has NEVER been a bore...you see the most interesting places with your waterfall tours and your gardens are eye candy for us gardeners. I actually am jealous of all the blooms you have. Mine do not compare. You are so organized. My time only allows rampant cottage gardens with everything thrown in together. Love your lilies. They are 2die4. Mom always had the Tiger and now I have some coming. They are my favorites too.
ReplyDeleteHaveAGreatWeekend and HopCarefully

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful, colorful, fantastic lilies. I just love the photos. I always enjoy very much your postings. Your blog is super.
Your lilies are absolutely gorgeous! I remember that Tiger Lilies grew wild in the ditches of the Iowa farm country I grew up in, so guess if I had to pick a favorite it would be them, but I love them all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely pics. And blog tips, too.
Blessings!
CottonLady
Betsy: 30 My what a variety. I love Dizzy even if I don't like to be dizzy.

ReplyDeleteLove those lilies. My Asiatic ones are blooming now. All white.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteWell, they are all beautiful but American Dream is my favorite of this bunch..boy do I have some catching up to do!
One day.. I'll start getting the one small area of our yard fixed up...it gets cut and our beauty exists in the wildlife that shows up...that seems to be plenty but I would like to grow a bit of food and flowers next year..it'll be a good start.
We have one Turkey hen that started coming in each day to eat...today she was spooked and flew up to a big tree limb...now if you don't think that flight was a clumsy sight!..LOL Poor girl...she's there for the night. I got a few photos of her I'll share next week.
I was turning around to come back in the house and a pair of Pileated woodpeckers screamed in my ear..I mean they must have been no more than 15 feet from me...they took flight across the lane into the woods. I really think they have a nest in a dead tree not far from where we park our cars. The high pitch of their calls and their size makes them such an exciting visitor. They are around all but maybe 3 months of the year. Then they go off in the distance...we can still hear them but they stay away during that time.
Thanks so much for visiting me...the bedroom is painted! YAY
You know we've never had the woodstove hooked up yet so that's next on the list but other than that the main level's big stuff is done...still have the drapes to hang and small stuff.
Downstairs winter proofing is gonna take some time though...good grief, by the time fall arrives we will be glad to sit down and relax.
Hugs to you,
Stephanie ♥
Can't choose a favorite this time! All are so beautiful. Love your header photo as well.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend!
I really enjoy the lilies.

Gorgeous flowers as always! Hope that you and George had a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteJane
Just lovely! The tiger lily is one of my favorites too : )
ReplyDeleteLooks like the tiger lily is a favorite - it's mine. Your photos of these beautiful flowers are lovely, colorful, great DOF and clarity.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy - No, the initials CS actually stand for the name of a personal friend who had a terrible round with non-smokers lung cancer and survived. I am following the tour, mostly so I can visit France vicariously. I've not kept up with who sits in the saddle since Jan Ullrich was booted for drugging; however, I must say that Andy Schleck looks very promising as a future winner - if he doesn't surprise this year.
ReplyDeleteJane
That tiger lily shot is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell, they all are but I LOVE that one!
Do you have a macro lens? The clarity is wonderful.
Gorgeous lilies, as usual.
ReplyDeleteSo I looked thru and found this shot (seems I have seen it before - as I commented previously) guess I didn't pay close enough attention.
ReplyDeleteThat flower bed must be beautiful to see all of them in bloom. So do you have one bulb of each variety or several? and does one flower bloom per plant?
They sure are pretty flowers!
Valerie
