There are so many things in my life which make me happy. It's hard to put them into a single blog post. But today, since it is my youngest son's 39th birthday, I wanted to talk a little about some of the important things in my life. Above is a favorite of mine each year.. Do you like to walk along the beach, feel the sand between your toes, or just sit and listen to the waves as they roar??? Ocean Isle Beach definitely makes me happy!
Another thing that makes me happy is seeing a gorgeous waterfall. This one is in beautiful Tallulah Gorge, Georgia. OH--my Heart!!!!!!! Wow!
My beautiful yard and home ---and our flowers, especially the Hybrid Tea ROSES, make my heart go pitter-pat. And my Sweetie spoils me by bringing a beautiful fragrant rose into the house almost every day during this time of year--just for ME. Above is a picture of the roses sitting on our table now. Aren't they just marvelous?
Here are more reasons for my happiness... These are my 3 sons: seated from left to right: Bert --age 46 and Mark--age 40; standing is Jeff--age 39 TODAY!!!! I am so blessed to have three wonderful young men in my life. They definitely have my heart. I am so proud of all of them!
Having a wonderful visit with son Jeff on Mother's Day certainly brought me SO much happiness. And --look what he brought me. This hanging basket is VERBENA. Isn't it beautiful??? I love the little pink flowers.
This little beauty is a FUCHSIA. I have never had either of these flowers before --and absolutely love both of them. They look so good hanging on our deck. Thanks Jeff!!!!
This young man above is my life... He definitely has my heart ----and makes me happier than I've ever been in my entire life. Thanks George for coming into my life --and making my heart flutter!!! I love you, Sweetheart!!! Thanks for giving me an incredible life.
Hope you enjoyed hearing just some of the things which make me happy and make my heart beat with LOVE. There obviously are many more --including my grands, but that is for another blog post.
Hugs,
Betsy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing so much of your sweet, wonderful life with all of us.
Your flowers are so pretty. I always enjoy seeing flowers. Even though I live in a coastal county, I'm not much of a beach goer. Be still my heart when I come upon a waterfall in the middle of nowhere, though. Waterfalls remind me of my beloved Tennessee which always brings a smile to my face. :)
Lest I forget, may I just say -
Happy Birthday, Jeff!
Have a wonderful day.
You are truly blessed to have so much beauty and love in your life, Betsy. It is all well deserved, my friend. You are a loving and caring person.
ReplyDeletebe Well, be Happy :)
Lots of things to be joyful about Betsy. You are truly blessed indeed. :c)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Jeff!
ReplyDeleteYou know and I know...that your true and biggest blessing is not a flower or any person...but the ability to appreciate all of it. :-)
What a very heart-warming post. I love all of your photos. Happy Birthday to Jeff, too.
ReplyDeleteBetsy: I can only imagine how much joy these loved ones mean to you, and you to them...
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful, active life, your positive attitude spills out onto your blog pages everyday, it's the reason you are always my first read of the day !
Happy Birthday dear Jeff !! I hope your day is a wonderful one.
Love the roses and hanging baskets, so colorful, and George, well I don't think they come any sweeter ;)
Hugs,
Jo
Beautiful post ~~ I can feel the LOVE all the way up here in northern Wisconsin!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Jeff!!! AND yes! He did good on the Mother's Day plants ~ verbena and fuschia are two of my favorites. Keep dead heading them and give them a drink of miracle grow in a few weeks and they'll bloom all summer.
I LOVE the roses you have sitting on your table ~ it's so sweet of George to bring them in for you. My hubby too has a soft spot for flowers :)
Happy Birthday to your son!
ReplyDeleteI have on my list to get a fuschia basket, I was planning on going to the garden shop this weekend. I've heard that hummingbirds love them.
Betsy you brought me to tears this morning! How wonderful to see your sons and the things and people you love!
ReplyDeleteYour first photo reminded me of the beach in Virginia when we lived down there, how I miss those carefree and leisure days of being home with my sons and knowing all that I had to accomplish, but not being under the gun of losing my job if I didn't get them done.
I long for the summer - when there is a time of rest and recharching!
soon, I know!
Thank you for sharing. It brought tears to my eyes. The love just flows from every word on your page. I was very lucky this Spring, my husband and I were able to visit Tallulah Gorge with my son and his family. It is breath taking. Happy Birthday to your son.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Betsy. You are truly blessed and even more so that you know you are. I knew George would feature as well as your young'uns.

PS ~ I am trying to get used to my iMac. It's not easy after being a PC user for so long though. Lots of things I like ~ lots of things I miss. The hardest is getting used to this teeny tiny keyboard with my arthritis. But...it will come I am sure. I am going to read "iMac for Dummies" this weekend. Hopefully I will learn some tricks! :)
Have a lovely weekend friend!

ReplyDeleteA wonderful, heartwarming post! Oh, the location you must have taken that apectacular waterfall picture from! I don't even want to think! It looks like it was taken from a helicopter, it's just so breathtaking. Knowing you and George, you probably found some scarily high overlook where eagles nested to snap this! I can see it now! Such a wonderful picture of your three sons all together, I finally get to see them!! Is this a very recent pic? And your son sure knows what makes his mom's heart beat, flowers!! Such beautiful baskets, did he give you both? My son is 39, as well, so there's something we have in common! I think all three sons live rather far away?
ReplyDeleteYour post is so heartwarming (no pun intended). You are truly a blessed lady.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
