Mt. Nebo from the Rim Trail
The big Ice Storm (that I talked about in yesterday's blog) was on Thursday. So today ---I wanted to share some pictures from Tuesday. Mt. Nebo State Park offers quite a few interesting hikes. One of them is called the Rim Trail. This trail follows the mountain just below the summit, and is about 3 1/2 miles in length. There are some interesting views along the trail of the surrounding mountains and also the valley below. There were also patches of blooming Daffodils (or Jonquils--as I called them when growing up) around the area. The picture above is a big patch of Daffodils. Below are several more pictures. Be sure to enlarge them for a better view.
This is the Rim Trail along the way.
This is a view of the valley below. Pretty, huh?
Isn't that a neat picture of that tree near the big rocks?
You can see Lake Dardanelle from here --if you look carefully. It was a very hazy day--so the picture is not very clear.
Wouldn't it be fun just to sit on these rocks and gaze at the surrounding mountains???
It's neat to look at the surrounding valley and mountain ranges on the different sides of Mt. Nebo.
The rock overhangs are so neat all along the top of the mountain. Remember--the trail is just below the top, almost all the way around.
One more picture showing the trail as it works its way around the mountain. Hope you enjoyed the hike along the Rim Trail.
Hugs,
