Colors in our Yard in Early October, 2011
There's not too much Fall Color in our area yet --but we do have color right here in our yard!!!! I took these photos the end of Sept/first of Oct ---so today, I'll share some of our 'color' to you. Above is one of our Reblooming Irises. This one's name is Blatant --and we love seeing Irises blooming in the FALL of the year!!!!! Isn't this one pretty?
This 'color' is one of our gorgeous Roses, named Veteran's Honor. This has always been one of my favorite roses. It's been blooming like crazy lately. Roses are at their prettiest here in the Spring AND Fall. They love sunshine but don't necessarily love the heat of Summer. Fall is a great time for Roses!!!
Here is a close-up of Veteran's Honor... this rose is absolutely PERFECT!!! Looks like Velvet, doesn't it?
This photo shows some of our favorite Fall blooms ---our Autumn Joy Sedum. We have this little beauty in several places around the yard. This one starts out sorta blue in color, then turns to a light pink, then darkens, and by the end of Fall, the color is a burnt orange. PERFECT colors for Fall!
Here is a close-up of one of the Autumn Joy Sedum blooms.
Our Pink Dogwood tree in our front yard is beginning to turn to its gorgeous reds. I love this photo since you can still see some of the green in some of the leaves..
Finally, here's a picture of our yard.. I was standing out in the street --so that I could get a picture of the Veteran's Honor Rose blooms. In this picture, you can also see the Pink Dogwood as it turns --and also some yellow color on the trees behind and around our home...
I'll post some new yard photos --as we get more and more Fall color. Now that we have had some much cooler weather, that usually helps the trees to turn!!!
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Roses in our Yard---Part VI
I am trying to show at least one bloom of all of the different varieties of Hybrid Tea and Grandiflora Roses in our yard this Spring/Summer/Fall. We had about 55 different varieties, and as of today, I have shown you 43 different ones. If you missed some of my other Rose posts, go to my sidebar, scroll down to labels and click on Roses 2011.
Today, I will show you 7 more. Above is one named SOUTHERN BELLE. George likes to say that this is the Betsy Rose --since I'm from the south!!!!! Below are more of our beauties. Hope you enjoy them!!!!
Here is a perfect example of how so many of our roses change colors as they age... Isn't that just amazing? Oh --how I love Roses!!!!
Hope you enjoyed seeing more of our beautiful Roses. I am so blessed to have George in my life ---since he is the "Rose Man".... I just get to enjoy and SMELL them!!!!
Again, please forgive me for not leaving comments yesterday. We are just very busy right now... AND---we had an awesome family dinner to celebrate Dad Adams' 99th birthday last night, at Dad's favorite restaurant, Cracker Barrel. He enjoyed it--and so did we!
Have a rosey day!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

Hope you enjoy seeing our Roses as much as I enjoy showing them to you... We've been pretty lucky with keeping the deer away this summer --but this past week, one enjoyed a few of these beauties during the night... I do love deer --but I don't like them eating our roses... Grrrrrrr
If the deer would just sniff their wonderful fragrance and then move on, that would be much nicer. (Ha Ha).. We do use Liquid Fence --but obviously, even that doesn't totally deter them. especially when it's dry --like it has been this month. That's just part of living in the woods!!!!!
On another note, I am LOVING Facebook. It's very different from Blogger --and I still enjoy blogging more. But--I've caught up with LOTS of people from my past I had lost touch with.. That part is awesome.
Have a fabulous day --and take time to 'smell the roses'.
Hugs,

Roses in our Yard in July
I have been talking about many of our other gorgeous flowers (lilies, day lilies, etc. ) in our yard this summer ---but have neglected to talk about more of our beautiful Hybrid Tea and Grandiflora Roses blooming in our yard this summer.
If you missed seeing the other Rose posts so far, click HERE. There are 3 other posts besides this one for you to see (which were published before our June trip out west). Today I will show you 7 more of our little beauties. The one above is called DOLLY PARTON.

If you are new to my blog, you may not know that we have 55 different varieties of Roses in our yard. George is the 'keeper' of the Roses ---and I am the 'lover' of them!!! How's that for the perfect job for me???? ha....
To tell you how wonderful my hubby is to me, I must tell you that he brings a rose in from the yard for me to enjoy inside every single day!!! Am I not the luckiest gal in the world????
Have a great day... AND--remember to get out there and "Smell the Roses" wherever you are... Get out in nature and enjoy it!
Hugs,
