What is Blooming???

Love and Peace Roses
We go to the beach every year around the first of May... Each year,  when we get back home,  we are always 'anxious' about what we'll find in our yard... AND---depending upon the year and the weather,  every year is different from the previous ones.   This year was no exception.

Even when we left FOR the beach,  there were lots of Roses already blooming.  It was hard to leave the yard---but we 'forced' ourselves.. ha....    BUT---coming home was even more awesome!!!  Not only were the Roses blooming,  but also lots of the Lilies and even a Daylily were all blooming.

Today I'll share a little of what we found when we got home from the beach on Saturday,  May 12.    Hope you enjoy seeing more of the beauty in our yard!  Be sure and click on the pictures to see them larger.  The first two pictures were taken on May 3 --before we left on our trip.  All of the rest of the pictures were taken on May 12 when we returned.

This picture was taken from the side, looking across the driveway at two of our Rose beds.  Can you imagine how hard it was for us to leave all of this beauty????   Luckily though,  it was still there for us when we got home!

This is what met us when we drove into the yard that day.   These gorgeous lilies are named Montenegro and the roses in the background are named Veteran's Honor.

Aren't these lilies pretty?   They bloomed for us ---when we came home on the 12th.  They are appropriately named  Lollypop.

This picture was taken of one of our round flowerbeds in front.  This one is the middle bed --and it's full of lilies and pansies...  The names of the lilies in this picture are Juanita.

We even have one set of daylilies blooming already.  This one is named Wild Horses.

This bed (near the front road) is full of color now... The irises are mostly bloomed out ---but the roses and lilies are really showing off.   All of those red roses (Veteran's Honor) are on ONE bush--believe it or not!!!!!  The roses on the right are named Double Delight,  and the yellow roses are named Welcome Home.

Finally,  here is one of my all-time favorite roses,  named Peppermint Splash.  This one had not bloomed until we returned from our trip.  Isn't it beautiful?

Hope you enjoyed seeing our flowers today!!!!!   AND--I also hope that you have a fabulous  day!!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

My goodness, those are all just beautiful. Several years ago before we started traveling in May/June, we planted about six different kinds of daylilies along our screened-in porch. They do bloom at different times, but for the most part, we miss them. Oh well, our neighbors and the people who take care of our house sure do enjoy them. Have a great day! Bet there's another adventure already in the works for you two!

Breathtakingly beautiful. All of them. Of course, without a doubt in MY mind, my favorites have always been roses, so I especially enjoyed their 'dazzle'.

I've always fanticized about having an English garden with flowers everywhere and just growing profusely. With no work involved though, you know. :) Your garden is just beautiful! What a joy.

Wow...your flowers are stunning, Betsy! Lucky you---to go to the beach, then come home to such splendor. I love them all, but those Montenegro lilies are amazing. And I really, really love that you had a rose called Welcome Home to welcome you home. :-)

Hi Betsy, I think I will they to develop a rose garden here in my farm yard near the house. I have been so busy lately with the sale prep for the lake house, my veggies and every-day chores that it has been hard to find time to develop more of this property. All in good time. You yard is prize-worthy for sure! Have a wonderful day!

I love the Peppermint Splash, it seems to have more red and less white this year. Also my next favorite is Love And Peace! You could be your own little Botanical Garden and charge admission, I would certainly pay! We have a Hone & Garden association here and the best gardens get put in the paper and people can tour them on Garden Weekend. Do you have something like that...I would think you would be their first choice.

Your roses are gorgeous. Your daylilies are also beautiful. My roses need some help. I have not been home enough to tend them and my hubby does the best he can which is not good help with the roses.

Your flowers are so pretty. I have a rose bush that puts out roses just like the one you call "peppermint splash". People are always asking me what kind of rose bush it is and I always said I didn't know. But now I will know what to tell them.

I ventured into your Blog the other day and saw all the pics of you and your hubby and the water falls. I love the way you both have matching t-shirts.. I would never think of that...it just shows how much you love each other. xxxx

Hummmm ?? can't decide which rose I like best, the love and peace or the peppermint !! also love the lilies.
Thanks for the photo size reducing info, I was already reducing mine, just not enough apparently. I reduced them to what you do and they are downloading fine and I've seen no more notices about running out of space.

What a welcome home! When I was working always hated to be gone from home in May especially--which was prime conference time for Farm Bureau. Regretted what I'd miss blooming in my garden--especially the peonies. Glad you and George had such a colorful welcome home.

Do you grow annuals as well? Container plantings? BTW, wouldn't even try to pick a favorite out of these photos--it would always be the next one I scroll to. :-) Although, I do like the Lolipops.

These are lovely blooms Ms Betsy! It is indeed difficult to leave such beauties behind. However, our good Lord takes care of His creations though you were not available for a couple of days away from home. What a blessing! God bless, Farida :)

WOW, Betsy, lots of beautiful colors and varieties!! You and George put in a lot of time in your yard for it to look so wonderful! But you are getting good exercise and good clean air for your bodies. THAT's also a plus!! I am amazed at all you do. That Peppermint Splash rose is very beautiful and I can see why they call it peppermint. But the other roses are stunning, too. SHOOT, the WHOLE YARD IS STUNNING!! Thanks for sharing it.
