Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

My Christmas Babies

Today I want you to meet some of my Christmas babies --which guard the Christmas tree and live in our home during the Christmas season.  Above is Frisky Snowman.... Frisky is a a great grandson of Frosty...  I have to keep the house VERY COLD ---so that he won't melt....  (NOT!!!! ha ha )

Here is one of Santa's helpers named  Santa Simon Edgar---after my Daddy... Daddy was my Santa ---and one year,  when I was a little girl,   I asked for a sliding board to go with my swing set (which I already had) from Santa.   BUT--as you can imagine,  Santa had trouble getting that big sliding board down the chimney... SO---he had to leave me a note saying that my sliding board was on the side porch.... (Poor Daddy Santa had to somehow manipulate that big sliding board so that it would somehow fit on the side porch.... What a great Santa!!!!)

This little guy is Theodore the Bear.... Theodore has a big job in my household... He is in charge of  making sure that all of the Christmas Babies BEHAVE and don't bother the ornaments on the tree.... One year,  Theodore caught Frisky trying to eat Santa's cookie and drink his milk....  Frisky got a WHOOPIN'  for sure!!!!

Here is  Edith Marguerete  Snow-WOMAN....  She is named after my sweet Mama  who died in 1991 at the age of 91....  Miss Edith smiles like Mama used to ---and she tries hard to make Frisky behave...

This is Roly Poly Santa since he loves to EAT.... He ate so much this past year that I had to buy him a new belt----and a new box to keep him in during the year...  Don't know where he gets the food,  but he just keeps growing wider and wider...  He says that he is growing so that he can join his Papa Santa on the sleigh one year on Christmas Eve.

Finally,   one of my favorite babies (don't tell the others please) is Bertha the Christmas COW..... Isn't she just a hoot?????  Have you ever seen a Christmas Cow before????  Bertha feels pretty SPECIAL -----and she enjoys flirting with Theodore.... Hope she and Theodore don't get TOO close... We don't want any little CowBears running around here!!!!!

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of my Christmas Babies.....  As you can tell,  I turn into a child at Christmas!!!!!   Oh how I love Christmas!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

They are all cute and different babies. I like Theodore the best. I bet he would enjoy hanging out with Birthday Bear. Do they all sit under the tree and come alive at night when all good little girls like you are fast asleep?

Your Christmas babies made me smile, which I needed because I'm just going to visit the dentist for some treatment! I guess you made them - they are very cute!

Oh, they are so darn cute and funny Betsy.
But thanks to you, now I feel neglected because I DON'T have a Christmas cow!!!! ;)

Cute! Did you make Theodore? I have that same bear pattern and one Christmas I made them for all the kids in the family. I still have a couple I keep for myself :-) Never too old to own a bear...or two.

Betsy, I love all your babies. You wrote this post so much like Terry and I 'talk" to our snow people or our 'kids" (non snow teddys or dolls) hehe. Love their history! Nope never saw a snow cow before. Too cute. Maybe if you do get some snow later today, the group can play in it a little bit, hehe. Blessings.

love that they all have names and their own personalities to match! :)

All of them are so cute, and I'll bet they enjoy hanging around together under the tree at Christmas after being separated the rest of the year. Seriously, did you make all of these? You could go into business!

What a wonderful Christmas babies collection! :-)

So cute. I love the names you have given to them. Ben and you would have gotten along very well. He had a bunch of toys from his childhood that he'd kept. He had given them all such cute names. I gave them to his sister the last time she was here because I know they will mean a lot to her.

Hugs,
Kay

This is "for your eyes only": I'm in love with "Bertha"! The others are adorable but, you're right, who has ever come across a Christmas cow? Please don't let this get out amongst the "babies"!!

Best,
Bonnie

Oh I just love your Christmas babies, Betsy. And I've never heard of a Christmas Cow - I love them ALL. My dad was also always Santa. (a behind-the-scenes one when we grew up but a dressed up one when the grands were growing up!) Thanks for sharing these beauties with us! Blessings, Jo

YES, Bertha is definitely my favorite, too, she is a scream!!! My next favorite is Mr. Patchhwork Roly Poly, and the the first snowman with the duck (goose)? I have no special thing that I actually collect for Christmas, but when I see what others post, I wish I did! I just have different things, which I will post sometime this month. We're to get four inches of snow tonight, ick!!

Such a lovely collection of sweet Christmas babies !
I like to fill the base of the tree with teddy bears, rabbits and cats, I hardly ever put the gifts underneath, unless they are small.
Did you get snow ?
Sure looks like snow :)

Such a fun post Betsy!
I love Theodore and Roly Poly.
I think we might both share a love of our Christmas decorations. I know I wasn't feeling very Christmasy until I opened one of the boxes and saw all the goodies I treasure inside. Bringing that out makes me smile.

Rose said...

You have a houseful already! hehehe I just have cats, and I cannot keep my tree skirt spread out for love nor money. and I dare not put a present under it...it would end up open before the first night was out.

Your babies are as cute as can be. Are you all getting snow yet ?? We are but they say it isn't going to amount to anything, we'll see !!
It is almost 30 degrees colder tonight than at this same time last night.

Ha Ha Ha Ha! I had a good laugh at your lines and imagination! You should write children's story books as you could make me tickled and happy. I love your toys and cute green bear! They are priceless beings to keep your heart young.

You bet, I was busy like a bee! I am back Betsy. My love to you and hubby!

Isn't it fun pulling the Christmas decorations out and relooking at all your fun and beautiful cherished items? Sometimes you forget all the pretty things you have.

That's my most favourite part of decorating.
