Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

Cumberland Mountain State Park

Our Fall weather has been awesome recently (even though a cold front came thought this past weekend).   Last Wednesday,  George and I headed to one of the state parks near us,  Cumberland Mountain,  to do some walking and take some photos.  We went late in the afternoon --and were able to get some great Fall pictures.   The temperatures were in the 70's and the sky was a deep blue...  Just perfect Fall weather for sure!!!

Today,  I'll share some pictures we took last Wednesday.  The photo above shows the beautiful bridge at the state park.  See the Canada Geese out there swimming around?  I love the reflections in the water!  Below are more.  (Click on them for larger pictures.)

This is an interesting picture since you can see a great shot of the BLUE sky in the water.

Here is another picture showing some of our Fall colors ---and the reflections in the water.

Here's another photo showing the bridge --from a distance.  The shadows were taking over --since the sun was setting.  BUT--we seemed to get there at the right time,  don't you think?

I was thrilled at the way the water looked this time of day..  Other than some Geese swimming around in the water,  it was very still on this day!

And of course,  I couldn't do a blog post from Cumberland Mountain State Park without showing a picture of some of the many Canada Geese which live there!  They are almost tame!!!

Finally,  here's one last picture of some of the Fall colors in our area.   This will only get better ---so hopefully,  we'll go back for more photos before Fall ends!!!

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Betsy

These are the colors I remember from our year and a half in KY - very similar! Absolutely gorgeous photos and reflections! That's a beautiful bridge! Enjoy watching the geese - but watch where you walk!!

Lovely shots, I like it when the water is so still to get good reflections. I had one shot I posted upside down just to see who noticed.

I think you hit it at the perfect time of day!! That one of the bridge in the distance is just beautiful. And wouldn't it make a great puzzle? :)

Love the photos with the reflections, reminded me of my favorite painter of landscapes, Bob Ross. He's been gone now several years, but I see re-runs.
I just love TN period, beautiful state.

Oh, Betsy!!! I literally have chill bumps and chills going up the back of my neck, really!!! The reflections are prettier than the real thing in these pictures!!! I love the second picture of the bridge better than the first. That one and the one after it are my favorite. I think the reflections may be prettier because some seem to have the pretty water and sky in them. For example, the last bridge picture. You done GOOD, girlfriend!!!! This is my favorite post ALL YEAR!!!

Hey Betsy, there is an iPad waterfall app, did you know that?

Oh, what beautiful shots! They almost look like impressionist paintings. I guess September is the ideal time to travel, isn't it.

Hi Betsy, I too, enjoy that park a lot! I really appreciate your photographs - vivid and thoughtfully presented. Nice job as usual. You do credit to the exquisite beauty of the Cumberland Mountain State Park here in Cumberland County, Tennessee! Have a wonderful day tomorrow and a great rest of the evening tonight!

Awww, the beauty of fall and these pictures are just what the doctor ordered. I'm back and you be sure and tell that nice husband also. He left a nice comment on mine. I finally figured it out or hopefully anyway. Been about to pull my hair out, if it hadn't been for Paula over at The Fraker Farm, I would have. She's a doll.. See you later, Susie

I've always wondered why they are called Canadian Geese - I will have to look that up.

I love that second picture. The sky in the water. Beautiful fall day!

These geese don't fly away in Winter.

I was lucky to live in my old house where I had a lemonade everyday. At this new house, there are less lemons.

Neat Betsy. My husband and I were headed there yesterday but got tired and stopped at Cove Lake State Park instead. Your photos look much like the view from our small RV. We then traveled to the Va/TN side of the Cumberland Gap then on up to eat in Big Stone Gap before coming home. The leaves are changing fast.

Betsy, suddenly all the lovely words like awesome, gorgeous, beautiful, splendid are still not enough for my emotions in appreciating these Fall photos! I just feel the awe and i hope you know what i mean! hahaha

All really beautiful photos, especially the one of the bridge at a distance. I think the light at the end of an afternoon can be really special when taking such photos - all the colours change.
After a glorious sunny week or two we're experiencing wind and heavy rain showers and the Autumn leaves
left on the trees are a dull browny-orange. However, I can enjoy your Fall photos in my 'mind's eye' and think of your stunning seasonal header and the vivid blue and oranges and I'm cheered. x

What a pretty park. Love the reflection of the trees and sky in the water. We're seeing quite a bit of color change around here. I'll have to get out with my camera before it's all gone

It is nice to see the trees turning colors already. I have to wait quite awhile to see that here. The water in these photos looks like a mirror--beautiful!

These are beautiful, Betsy. You live in a lovely area of our country. My favorite was the distant shot of the bridge and trees. So pretty.

In addition to beauty, I think peaceful and relaxing when I see your pics. You all had a perfect day. It was a great reward for all the times you have trekked in the rain.
