Lilies in our Yard---Part II

Since we were gone for three weeks,   we missed most of our beautiful lilies this year.  Sniff Sniff!!!!   BUT--we told our neighbors to enjoy them and pick them as they wished... We did come home to some blooming ---and we also took some pictures JUST before we left on our trip.

IF you missed my first post showing this year's Lilies (Posted on June 6),  click HERE.   Today I'll show you one more set of the lilies we did SEE in our yard this year... Above  is one called PINK LEMONADE  (taken on 6/4).  Below are more.

AMERICAN ORIGINAL (taken on 6/29--after we returned home)

WHITE LACE (taken on 6/4)

BUENA VISTA (taken on 6/29--after returning home)

GARDEN PLEASURE (taken on 6/29--after returning home)

MUSCADET (taken on 7/3)--one of my fav's!!

TOUCHING (taken on 6/29)----This entire group greeted us when we drove into the yard after being gone for three weeks.   WOW--What a welcome home!!!

God took good care of our yard while we were gone.  We had plenty of rain --so all of the flowers/plants/roses, etc.  did WELL.....  Thanks be to God!!!!

Hope you enjoyed seeing our two sets of Lilies this year.  We will NOT take a long trip in June next year---for several reasons,  one of which is the beauty in our yard!!!!

Hugs,

Beautiful! What a nice welcome! Everything is pretty toasty in my yard, due to the drought.

Lovely lilies. We have some too but they're still in bud. We've had a lot of rain and we can't go outside because of mosquitoes. Are dogs are covered with clouds of them when they're outside!
Do you have a lot where you live?

I wondered if you had someone looking after your beautiful flowers while you were gone. Glad they all survived. I especially liked the picture of White Lace.

TexWisGirl said...

glad they were still there for you when you returned! the white lace one is just perfect - i love it when they curl up like that. so beautiful!

I think either you or your husband mentioned once how many varieties of roses you had in the yard - - - the number 50 or 52 comes to my mind. Have you ever posted how many different kinds of flowers and varieties of each? I'll bet you have it written down somewhere. It is wonderful what a beautiful yard of flowers you have.

They are all very beautiful. Glad your area got plenty of rain and your flowers did well while you were gone.

Your lilies are stunning - such a variety! So glad all was well in your beautiful garden! There's no place like home!

That eagle in your header looks fierce with his eyes so wide open; wouldn't want to tangle with him!

Have a great week!

What a stunning show to come home to and enjoy! Yes, thank God for the rain so that your wonderful plants stayed happy. My husband keeps looking at the lily plants in the garden centre, but I've heard that they can be prone to disease so I would hate to lose such beautiful plants if we tried to grow some here in the UK. I love those white ones.

With all the summer beauty in your yard, you're going to have to limit your traveling to the winter months. :)

Looks like some of your lilies decided to hang around for your return. They wanted to welcome you home in lily style.

Love the lilies!! I have lots of lily pictures, now you are helping me identify some! I am loving looking at the White Lace. Because it is shaped like Stargazer and tiger lilies, but a different color, I haven't ever seen any. The Pink Lemonade is a delightful name, but it almost looks rose colored or slightly mauve.

Awww, I love lilies...they are all so unique in their colors and shapes!
So glad God took care of your flowers for you; always knew you could trust Him :)

How wonderful that it rained while you were gone and there were still some lilies to welcome you home. Your photos are delightful, Betsy!

I'm always torn about taking a late spring trip. One misses the budding beauty of the garden. Same with fall but I never want to miss that time in the Blue Ridge!!

Your lilies are beautiful.

Best,
Bonnie

I enjoyed every single picture...The lilies are absolutely beautiful and I know they must smell so sweet...

I just do not have much luck with them...maybe they are planted in the wrong place....I have planted three different kinds and none of them have done very well...Glad to know that someone knows how to grow them...Enjoyed!!

Your lilies are just beautiful. I understand the not wanting to travel in June because of your yard. I am the same way. I want to enjoy the beauty of home when it is in bloom.

Larry said...

Now you know why I seldom travel for very long away from the gardens... when my mother-in-law was alive, I would call her everyday to find out what was in bloom in my absence, as she watered our plants while we were away.
Your lilies are lovely and I am so anxious to get reacquainted with my own as they come into bloom in the next couple of weeks!

Although I don't have a yard like yours, I know exactly how you feel about missing some of the blooms in their prime! You had a gorgeous yard to come home to! Sometimes the most meaningful beauty is right at home!

Betsy, Such a beautiful welcome home from your lilies! They are beautiful. I confess, I did not follow the trip for one reason, I have a big mouth and I was afraid I would be so engrossed in the trip you two were taking I would just comment and blurt out info which would tell the world you were not home! Since you specifically asked us not to mention that I thought I would be safe instead of sorry. I will catch up on all of it before Monday. You are such a sweetie to have been worried. Life was a bit nuts for the last 10 days. Oh, I know how silly I must sound, goodness a week! But you know writing that and knowing caring friends were reading and praying was like a huge hug and after writing it just felt so much better. I promise to drop a line to update everyone on Monday, late in the evening. I just want you to know that even when I did not follow the trip as you took it, each day I woke up smiling, prayed for travel mercies and good waeather and fun for you both. I am so happy for you to have had this opportunity and cannot wait until Friday when I actually have a free afternoon of no pre op Dr appts and such to catch up. Thank you again Betsy. By the way how is George's dad doing? I have kept him in my prayers also. Big huge hugs back to you. Blessings.

As I was scrolling through this post, the lily that caught my eye was the MUSCADET. It was my favorite. I see it is one of your favorites too.

Pink lemonade and garden pleasure are my favorites of the ones shown here. But they are all gorgeous.
Mine are blooming now and I'm so glad I took your 'cue' and planted more last year even though I wasn't sure I'd be in this house.

They're gorgeous, Betsy! When we left for Mom's the middle of last month none of Frankie's lilies had even developed buds yet but when we pulled up in mom's driveway her lilies were blooming like mad! Then we came home 10 days later and Frankie's started blooming the next day and are still at it!
