Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

2010 Best Of...: SKY

I have so many sky pictures in 2010 --so I decided to feature some of them again in my "Best of"  series.   Above is one of my favorite sunset views taken on 2/24/10 when we were at our little cabin on the mountain at Mt. Nebo, Arkansas.

I love seeing the BLUE sky --especially in winter.  We had had alot of snow and ICE,  so I took this picture with ice on the trees while looking straight up.  Isn't it gorgeous?

Here is a gorgeous picture of the lunar eclipse.  I know that I just posted this recently--but just getting to see a piece of this eclipse was just awesome.  This was history in the making... We saw this eclipse while at Ocean Isle Beach in December of 2010.

Do you like rainbows like I do?  This double beauty was taken on 5/4/10 while we were at Ocean Isle Beach,  North Carolina.

This beautiful picture showing the sunbeams was taken on 11/22/10 when we were at at the top of the mountain at Mount Mitchell,  North Carolina.

I love seeing the sunset when there are lots of beautiful clouds in the sky.  This sunset was taken from the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, NC on 11/22/10.

Finally,  this beautiful sunrise was taken when we visited Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina,  on 12/23/10.

Hope you enjoyed my 'sky' pictures.   There is so much I love about being out in nature.  Seeing beautiful sky pictures is always a favorite of both George and me.

Hope you also had a good weekend.  I spent the entire time working on my Family History... I love Genealogy --but it takes time and effort for sure!!!!

Hugs,

Betsy, you captured some really beautiful sky views. I love the sunset and sunrises but the rainbow is fabulous.

Genealogy is fun and you are so right about the time but it is worth every minute.

The first time I saw trees decorated and sparkling with their ice jewelry, I almost drove off the road. It is an awesome sight.
Lovely shots Betsy.

Those images are so beautiful! How can one look at the rising and setting of the sun - sunbeams shining into a valley, see an amazing rainbow and even watch a lunar eclipse and think that this world with all of its intricacies was formed during a Bang, (forgive me - that's right - it was a BIG bang!) Nonsense!

We serve an amazing God who has created a beautiful world for us to reside in as we await an eternity in ever a better home - I can't even imagine what he has in store for us after this -but I know I don't want to miss it.

Thanks for a beautiful glimpse of our home!

What a beautiful set of pictures!! I wouldn't want to have to choose a favourite but if I did I think it would be the sky over the mountains!!

Your enthusiasm flows freely through your words, Betsy. Even if I didn't like sky pictures, I would after reading this post! :)
But I do love sky pictures, so I'm really enjoying this.
I like how you have categorized your pictures and are showing us what you consider the best (the falls, the flowers, and now the skies).
My favorite ones here are the mountain shots. Stunning in His majesty!

So beautiful, Betsy! How wonderful that you have pictures from both the coast and the mountains of North Carolina! Of course, the sunbeams in the valley photo is my favorite--it is amazing. I love my mountains ALL the time, but I especially love to watch the interplay of light and shadows on the mountains on partly-cloudy days. It often takes my breath away.

I am not sure which one I like the best. They are all beautiful. I will say that the one with the rainbow over the ocean is pretty awesome as is the one in NC showing the sunbeams.... a great reminder of God's presence shining down on us!

Yes, you certainly did have lots of beautiful sky pictures from 2010!

We spent our weekend mostly indoors watching TV and reading. It was so cold; we didn't want to go outside!

What a nice group of pictures. It was hard to pick a favorite, I chase that sunset often. I liked the virgo coming out of the clouds from the mountaintop, a very unusual angle.
