Our 2010 Lilies---Part IV

So far, I have shared 19 varieties of the gorgeous Lilies in our yard this year. Today I will share 6 more with you ---which still leaves 5 (since we have 30 different Lily varieties). In order to see any of the first 19, go to my sidebar and scroll down to Labels. Then click on Lilies 2010.

Above is one of my favorite Lilies --which is a popular one which I have seen on several blogs this summer. Its name is STARGAZER. Below are more!

SIMPLON

PINK PERFECTION

MUSCADET

MIDNIGHT QUEEN

LOMBARDIA

As I have said in previous blogs, our Lilies and Daylilies really put on a 'show' for us this summer... But--they are all gone now!!!! Sigh!!!! The Roses are still going strong --and we planted some Vinca recently in our small round beds to give them some color until we plant our Fall Pansies.

I will have one more post featuring the rest of our Lilies. Hope you have enjoyed seeing all of these varieties of our 2010 Lilies.

What are your weekend plans? I will be working on Family History (what else is there???? ha)--and hopefully, we'll take a ride on Sunday. I'll blog again on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,

Betsy gorgeous collection! I can imagine the scent in the early morning breeze!Do you cut the stalk down after the lily has dropped off? I have been doing this..about half way down? Your tips are appreciated. anna

So with so many varieties of lilies and roses - how in the world do you keep their names straight? They surely are beautiful!

I love the simplon (white with red) so very pure and clean looking. The muscadet one is a beauty as well.

I will have to go back and look again - do you have a wide shot of the yard while many were in bloom? That would be neat to see.

Have a great weekend!

Valerie

Your lilies are lovely. We only have day lilies and they are still going strong which is surprising seeing as we really haven't had enough rain this year.

I am having my eldest daughters two boys for the weekend, picking them up today!! Busy time!

Since it's my last weekend of summer, you'd think I had something fun planned! But nope, just going to frantically try and get more of the to-do list done!

Muscadet, Midnight Queen are my picks. You certainly have gorgeous blooms all around you, fortunate lady. So, do you place your pansies in raised beds with that healing knee? I'm sure they will be a real show. Can't wait to see them.
We have the Flambeau Rama celebration in our town this weekend so named for the Flambeau River that flows through and past Flambeau River Paper Co. that my Bill and Mels Slim work at. I imagine we will take in some of the festivities. We always go to the Fireman's Stand for the frog-jumping contest that some of the grands compete in, where we also have their famous Hamburgers smothered in fried onions while listening to country music. Sat. is the Arts and Crafts Fair, then Sun. is the parade that my son will have a float in this yr. to promote the new business. I guess we will be downtown.

You've sure had some beautiful Lilies Betsy! Mine are still looking pretty good but I think that's because they got a late start. :)

Beautiful as always, Betsy.
Stargazer is a favorite every where I believe. They are so fragrant. They can get so tall. My daughter's were well over 9 feet tall with many blooms.
So sad they are all gone for now. MB

I love all these lilies, I have a few kind myself, I have a question Betsy, that Stargazer Lily, I got one for Mothers Day, it stayed with the bloom about two weeks, then the bloom fell off, then the plant has dried up too, is this normal? Or is my plant dead forever. Okay any how love your beautiful flowers it is alway such a joy to come here and see your pictures, have a wonderfully blessed day my friend.

The Retired One said...

I have a Stargazer and it bloomed late this year..not sure why, but I love them too...all your lilies are so beautiful. Don't they smell great too? I love their scent.
Glad to see (in your other post) that you got out hiking. I am sure that makes you feel better too!

Harriet said...

Beautiful flowers! It is bad that you haven't been able to hike this summer but isn't it great that God has blessed you with these wonderful flowers to enjoy while you are at home!

We have Heritage days this week-end, but I'm not sure we want to battle the crowds and get burned to a crisp in the beating sun! Hubby has no drive lately to do anything, and I haven't got enough energy to motivate both of us, lol!!

Love your gorgeous lilies! Have a blessed week-end!

Hi Betsy, Simplon is certainly an elegant bloom. I really like it. Stargazer must be one of the most popular lilies ever. For good reason too, it is beautiful and very dramatic.

These day lilies are just as beautiful as all the others that you have shared with us. My favorite of this set is the SIMPLON. That lily is perfection in its simplicity.

Hope you and George have a great weekend.

I only have a red and a yellow lily that come back each year. They are nice to seem, and take pictures of. I like all of your bright colored ones. You have many more than I do and all are prettier.

Betsy, the fragrance exuded from my computer screen was remarkable! :) Hope you are doing well and enjoying your weekend.

I especially love lilies and yours are beautiful. When they tore out my old garden (to build a new machine shed) a couple of years ago, I lost all of my flowers except my lilies.

Have a good weekend!

Thanks for your visit. The lilies are magnificent. We had a few come up this year, but it's hard for Abe to work in the yard, so I have had to start doing a lot that I never did before, but still have the house to take care of to. So things don't always get done like I would like them to be done. My Mother is only 13 years older than me, so we seem more like sisters. My own sister died from breast cancer when she was 42, I was 46 at the time. I am now almost 74, went through breast cancer in July 1996 and again in the other breast in Dec. 2006. For some reason the second cancer showed I had the estrogen factor, so I am on a pill called Femera for five years. Still have about another year and a half to go. I was treated with radiation both time, so if it should come back again, then I will have to have a mastectomy. Yes, the joys of growing older. LOL
