Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

Millstone Creek Falls, Erwin, TN

On our recent trip to Erwin, TN, the first hike we took on Black Friday was to see Millstone Creek Falls. This waterfall was on Millstone Creek and dropped 25-35 feet in a narrow fan. We hiked a short distance to the waterfall on a fairly cold morning . Once we got to the waterfall, we were not disappointed. There were actually two different waterfalls here: Millstone Creek Falls and Lower Millstone Creek Falls.

We got to the main falls first --near the top. This is one of those waterfalls which I love since it is in a little rock-cove area---and I enjoyed sitting on a big rock near the waterfall and just meditating for awhile. George hiked on down to the lower falls in order to get more pictures. This was a great waterfall to see as we started our day!!!! Pictured above is Millstone Creek Falls. Below are more pictures.

I love this picture of the top of Millstone Creek Falls ---showing the rock cropping and the moss around the area.

"George? Look up there... Isn't that a gorgeous waterfall?"

This is probably my favorite picture of the top part of Millstone Creek Falls.

This is Lower Millstone Creek Falls. George hiked down beside the creek to get more pictures.

George hiked down to get a picture of the ENTIRE waterfall. See the top of the waterfall ---WAY up there???? I was sitting there --just enjoying myself.

Hope you enjoyed our little hike to see Millstone Creek Falls.

Have a great Saturday... As I write this blog on Friday night, the forecasters say that SNOW is coming!!!! I hope they are right---but I won't get my hopes up until I see it for myself!!!!! My son in Texas 'thought' they were going to get snow today--but it missed his area and went all around them. I know his family was so disappointed--like I am so often when the snow goes all around us!!! (George thinks we need to move to Alaska!!! ha)

Hugs,

That's a pretty falls, Betsy. The fan of water looks kind of feathery. It would be easy to sit and meditate while looking at it for quite a long time.

I think these are some of the prettiest falls in your collection. I love the color of the rocks in your first picture.
Thank you for your visits and kind comments.
Enjoy your weekend.
Sunny :)

I really liked the lower falls the best. So nice you have a "leg man" to zoom in for you.
You and George must be the healthiest people in Tn with all your hiking.
We are cold enough, 16 degrees this AM but no snow on the horizon. Dang. I become a 6 year old again in the snow. Love it.

Betsy I am so envious that you get to trek all over those beautiful mountains looking at water falls.
We got some snow! It was so pretty last night but it is melting off the roof now so I'm not sure what will be left come daylight.:(
We are looking for 26 degrees low tonight! Brrrrr !

Betsy,... right now snow is a "four letter word!" for me. I'm hoping the ground stays bare here in my back yard until I can get my new camper home in a week of so. I don't want it to have to be stored 40 miles away at the dealers! Looks like you are getting your snow this morning ... the Weather Channel shows most of TN covered in clouds and white stuff! Good luck and have fun!

love the waterfall photos! We are getting rain at the moment but is suppose to turn to snow...I am crossing my fingers. Make room for me if you move to Alaska. LOL

The waterfall and the photos are absolutely beautiful. The red colours in the stone is nice too. While you are contemplating snow we are looking at high temperatures this week 35C/95F.The mornings and evenings are lovely but in the middle of the day I retreat into the airconditioning and hope the electricity bill wont be too high.

It snowed at our house all day yesterday -- beautiful, huge flakes -- not much left this morning. I think you and George should write a *waterfalls travel* book!

We awoke this morning to an inch Betsy. My kind of snow. It's beautiful, and the streets are clear. Hope you got a wee bit up there on the plateau. :c)

Such gorgeous waterfalls, Betsy! As others have said, the falling water is particularly lovely against the reds, browns, and grays of the rocks.

It's snowing hard here, the pretty kind that sticks to the trees. It's lovely. Hope you'll soon be watching snowflakes fall, too!

Well Betsy, you can come up here to Canada and stay with us any old time you want! You'll have lots and lots of snow to play in. We might even make snow angels!! But you've gotta bring your grandkids - all of them. LOL!

Love your falls pics. They look absolutely magical! Like right out of a fairy tale. And your header is gorgeous - so it looks like you did get the snow after all.
Happy December!

We got the BLIZZARD yesterday and today! Love the snow - BUT - hate the treacherous driving and ueber-aggressive drivers! And there are always those show-offs and risk-takers, having their thrills and putting other folks into danger. Got a ride from a friend last night to a Christmas party and was grateful to get home safe and sound!!! LOL

Love your waterfall pictures! That's a tall one! I sure enjoy your new header!

Blessings, Karin

Beautiful falls Betsy. My question--how did that huge rock get to be at the right spot for the water to hit it just right? Isn't nature grand!!!!

DEAR BETSY,
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WAY TO START YOUR DAY...I COULD JUST HEAR THE NOISE OF THE WATERFALL. I LOVE WATERFALLS. I BET IT WAS SO VERY PEACEFUL. I LOVE THE PICTURE OF YOU IN YOUR PINK HAT.
I TOO, LOVE BIRDS. I RECEIVED THAT LOVE FROM MOTHER AND DAD. I LOVE IT WHEN THE YELLOW FINCHES ARRIVE...ONE DAY WHILE I WAS JUST LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW AND I WAS JUST FURIOUS TO SEE A HAWK FLY DOWN AND TAKE A SPARROW....HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW...I KNOW THEY NEED TO EAT ALSO BUT DON'T TAKE THE SPARROWS OUT OF MY YARD.
I LOVED THE ARTICLE ABOUT YOUR WREATHS AND YOUR PRECIOUS MOTHER AND DAD. I LOVE YOUR BROTHERS' CAR AND THE SANTA ON THE HOUSE. HOW BLESSED YOU WERE AND ARE.
SO ENJOYED THE TOUR OF THE WATERFALLS.
