Welcome to JOYFUL REFLECTIONS. Also welcome to MARCH!!!! My header picture this month is a photo I took of the pretty Crocus blooms in our yard... The Crocuses and Daffodils are the first signs of spring here in Tennessee. I am definitely ready for SPRING...

Ain't Nothin' Like...

I like most all kinds of music, including 'modern' country music. And one of our VERY favorite artists is Brad Paisley. We went to Knoxville last year to Brad's concert which was MARVELOUS!!! One of my favorite songs of his is one entitled, "Ain't Nothin' Like." Here are some of the words:

This old world is full of simple pleasures
They're all good but some are better

Ain't nothin' like finding that woman (man)
That you know you're gonna love for the rest of your life
And ain't nothin' like knowing the Lord's a comin'
Back one day to make you want to do right

Ain't nothin' like watchin' a bunch of young'ns
Run screamin' through the sprinkler in their little bare feet
And ain't nothin' like finding twenty dollars
In the pocket of the britches that you wore last week

Ain't nothin' like throwing a hula popper
Draggin' it across a spot a big 'un oughta be
And ain't nothin' like having him for supper
With some good hush puppies and some sweet iced tea

If you haven't heard this song, you need to listen to it! There is so much meaning in the simple things in life. For instance, what is better than seeing a Proud Papa with his baby girl? The picture above is me with my Daddy--taken back in 1942.

Also, there 'ain't nothin' like' waking up early in the morning hearing the Cardinals outside my window 'chipping' for their breakfast. There 'ain't nothin' like' seeing a gorgeous sunset, or walking in the woods and turning the corner only to see and hear a beautiful waterfall. It's just the simple things in life which are so important.
Hugs,

There ain't nothin' like coming to bloggyland and reading your new post first thing in the morning, ready to praise the Lord, thank Him for His goodness and then get on with the day that He has made!

Great pos! There is a small town we visit in Tn.. When we are there everything slows down and the simple things are so much clearer.

If you get a chance swing by my blog, the pic. at the top is from Jackson County Tn. You can't find roads like that around here anymore.

I loved seeing the picture of you as a sweet little girl!! And I agree w/ you - the simple things in life are best! I still remember my husband and i kayaking together in the early morning last summer and the wonder we felt when we saw our loon family.

Just beautiful. Someone also say: "ain't nothing like the real thing" ;) way before Coke thought of it.
Have a lovely day!!

I'm not sure I know this song but I couldn't agree more-it's the simple things that are most important!

Amen to that! So many people get caught up in chasing the latest gadget and never enjoy the simple things that nature offers us. I could sit in the woods or on a mountain top all day and be content.

Simple is best, but it's a complicated process in life to learn that. Many don't, or sometimes forget. We all forget at times.

Cute photo, Betsy. We can always be reminded of all the wonderful things that are there just to enjoy.

Betsy, you should write your own song. You have lots of additions to "ain't nothin' like." Seems like a good way to contemplate what's really important in life.
What a cute photo of you and your dad!

Thanks to all for visiting today. I have been VERY busy setting up my new computer. It's amazing --how much better the colors are and how much faster the computer is. I still have alot more to learn and more files to download.. BUT--I'm a very happy camper with this beautiful new mac tonight.

Thanks again--and let's all remember the simple things in life!!!!!

Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy
